Also, I'm going to be making a long drive to see my baby sister graduate from Uni this weekend and I might have to get my first Shamrock shake ever. Because that sounds amazing.
I found a second McDonald's and was so excited...and they're OUT of shamrock shakes?!? Oh man. I got a smoothie, but I mean, come on, not even remotely the same.
TTC since July 2014. CP March 2015. IVF #1 March 2016, 5R, 3M, 2F with ICSI. Transferred 2 on day 3. CP. Surprise BFP and then CP August 2016 (prep cycle for IVF). IVF #2: zero eggs retrieved IVF #3: 6R, 5M, 5F, 3 (2 8A and 1 11A) transferred, one "B" graded embryo frozen on day 5. BFP (at home 7dp3dt, confirmed 14dp3dt with 1552 beta) and U/S at 5w5d, 2 sacs and 2 yolks!
People with kids actually sleep past 6am?? That's a thing?
DS1 goes down 7:30/8p, we're in bed by 9p, and lucky to sleep to 6:30a 🙄 damn toddler
All I can say is it gets better. Since my daughter was 5 yrs old we get about 10-13 hours per night. The first 2-3 years were absolutely hell. 4-5 were better. 5+ has been good
So there's a light at the end of the tunnel.
It's just really far and looks like a pin point right now.

I DO have to say that the trade off for sleep is that my kid is such a happy baby and she's pretty predictable. She only cries (fusses more than cries) to eat and sleep. She could have the dirtiest freaking diaper and be happy rolling around in her own shit.
I mean, not that I let her roll around in shit or anything...

But seriously, yes. The trade off is you have this super cute human who looks at you like you're the best thing in the entire world. So it's hard to stay mad at them for hijacking your sleep.
AND THEY ARE SO FREAKING EXCITED TO SEE YOU WHEN YOU WALK INTO THE NURSERY!

Even when they're 2, it's kinda hard to stay mad at them when they look at you like that 😍

I will say that I miss it, but you kind of just get used to it. It becomes your new norm.
I hope so. I did have to pull a lot of all-nighters in college and I managed okay. Well, I did fall asleep at random and unfortunate times/places a few times but you know.

You'll gradually get it back. It wasn't like a switch one day went off and we were able to sleep again. It just slowly worked its way to being able to sleep longer stretches and we fell into a routine
Yeah, I'm back and forth about zoos as well. But I've always heard SD Zoo was amazing. We are going on my birthday, and I just wondered if it was a good idea to go as soon as they open at 9am.
I'll make sure I wear comfortable shoes.
I am a native of SD so I have been a lot. It is a really nice walk and with all the rain it should be extra beautiful. It depends on the time of year you are going with needing to get their early.
I'll be there in 10 days, so we thought we'd go early, and then to the beach after.

In college, during finals week, I dozed off riding my bike to class and hit a tree. I no longer bike.

I can't count how many times I've fallen asleep in the glider in her room. H likes to joke that we should've bought a La-Z-Boy for the nursery instead of the modern, fancy shmancy glider we got. I'll never tell him to his face that he is right.
I can't complain about my 19 month old's sleep, and I'm crossing my fingers that the 18 mo regression skipped us. But I still wake up when she coughs or briefly fusses and then I'm up for a few hours worrying about how she's going to handle 36ish hours apart when her brother comes .

I know I'm going to sleep in whatever I get, I've sat in a few and specifically check to see how it feels to get into a good sleep position.

Ouch!! I don't think I've fallen asleep while moving. I had to volunteer to participate in a psychology study where they left me in a tiny room to stare at the computer and click on things and they walked in later to find me passed out. Oops.
You never know - you could have a good sleeper. DD has always been a terrible napper, even as an infant, but she slept great at night. May we all have that with these babies!
I keep telling myself to be prepared because DD was not the norm but I will definitely miss my sleep if this one is an "up all night" kind of kid. It takes me awhile to fall back asleep after I've been woken up so if he wakes up every hour, I will get no sleep.

Um, yea. That's smart. I was like, "This is pretty and seems comfy." Never thought about the fact that I might fall asleep in it.
