marygracerich I am cracking up because I always want a spotless house...which as we all know with a toddler is impossible...and I always get self conscious if the house is "too perfect" when I have company over that rarely comes to the house so I do the same thing...I'm glad I'm not the only one who does this because my husband thinks I'm crazy.
And also not cool about passive aggressive comments, especially about how one looks. Why do people think they need to comment on how someone looks? I just find it so bizarre.
So my plans to sneak out of the house before S woke up to go do laundry and enjoy a hot cup of coffee were interrupted by a S standing right outside the bathroom door waiting for me...
So now I am doing laundry in our complex's laundry room...while S watches a movie and my H sleeps.
I am unapologetically allowing the T.V. to parent my kid right now.
He does. :/ I have gotten it both when I have lost and gained weight. When I lose he will say something like "what happened? Part of you are disappearing." But when I gain he will say something like "I see you have stopped your diet." I usually just brush it off. In general my ILs are pretty good people. They are always generous and caring. They just have no filter.
Oh em gee. I'm sure they're great but this is terrible! Does your DH stick up for you?
Not really but he doesn't really need to. I usually say something like yup I'm fat. Oh well and move on. I see them like 3 times a year so it doesn't really mean anything to me.
corrys12 that reminds me of the other day DD was standing outside the bathroom door while I showered. She would yell "hello", I would answer "hello". This went on for my entire shower while dh was doing idk what. So relaxing. Lol

My DH is stressing about money and thinks we should sell our house (we just bought in May) and move to something less expensive. Problem is, he has expensive taste, wants new construction with a finished basement and real estate in Ontario is ridiculous. Plus, he isn't willing to increase my commute (neither am I really) or have sole responsibility for drop off and pick up for J. If we can find something that meets all this criteria I will definitely go for it but I think he's being pretty unrealistic. He is really finding it difficult that our current basement is unfinished and that we don't have the money to just buy whatever we want right now. He is a "I want it therefore I need it, now" type of person and it's super irritating sometimes. He doesn't really get that sometimes you have to sacrifice to get what you want. Anyway. Sorry for the ramble. I felt like I needed to say this out loud and get it off my chest. Dude is seriously a FWP complainer and it makes me crazy.

I feel you sister! S actually cries!! Bangs the door. Full on melt down....he'll calm down and then start back up. But if I leave the door open he marches in and opens the shower doors and wants to come in. He isn't talking much yet...
I don't even know how to answer that. Today she went on the potty all day but I'd say I ask far more often if she wants to sit rather than her telling me she has to go.
On Thursday she refused the potty all day and went in her diaper. Yesterday was about 50/50. So we're somewhere in the middle.
I missed that your kid is in full on potty training mode!! WHOAH.
So S is sick. Woke up yesterday w a cough, DH said he had a slight fever in the afternoon (I went to lunch with some girlfriends), then he barfed all over his car chair on our way to the park....so we u-turned it and went back home. Later in the evening he started running a low fever again. Like 100.3
We were supposed to go to a family BBQ today. Guess that's not going to happen.
The latest on my BIL's wedding: future SIL picked a cheapie Amazon bridesmaid dress then was shocked when the bodice doesn't fit great.
I said it looked like alterations would fix this and was informed that no, the pleats wouldn't work to be altered. Okay, sure. So now apparently she's picking something else 🙄

Happy Sunday! Had coffee with the lovely robotpcr this morning, and arrived home to find that lunch was still going on. Should have followed my instincts and stayed away until more than 5min past nap time.
Just finished tidying like a madwoman because MIL is supposed to drop by around 3. No calculated messes here, though -- just the bare minimum. So lazy.

She has started melting down every time someone leaves. Full on tantrum and no stopping her. I do not enjoy that.

Just home from a quick little errand while J napped. I picked up a baby shower gift for a friend of ours and a book for myself. I work for Canada's only real book store and I pretty much guarantee my job security by donating my pay cheque back to the company. So bad. Next week is employee appreciation weekend and we get 40% off everything. I will be going wild in the home decor items to decorate our spare bedroom.

How does one convince one's husband that summer vacation should be spent at a cottage in Muskoka?
This should be a no brainer but my husband is not very Canadian. I blame his parents who did not embrace anything about this country when they moved here. I feel like it's now my job to educate him on how amazing our homeland is.
Lesson one: Cottage country and the absolute bliss of staring out at the quiet, calm lake with a tea/wine/beer in hand.

MH and I spent the whole afternoon organizing our clothes. We have 5 contractor bags to donate and 1 small bag to recycle and 1 to consign. It's crazy how much we had in the attic and even in our dressers/closet. Thank God for daniel tiger today 😄
