I'm thinking: M: spaghetti with salad T: chicken fajitas with guac W: crockpot ham, green beans, some sort of carb side Th/F: leftover ham as sandwiches/in an egg scramble/etc
Those drunken noodles look so good, I'm considering making grain free pasta from scratch just so I can make it! To be on the safe side I think I'll use alcohol free wine.
You all give me serious mom goals. I suck at meal planning and find myself scrambling every day. I want to be like you guys!!
I used to scramble everyday too and then I realized I was quickly dropping $20-$25 per night on some last minute dinner and that made me change my tune. On top of saving money, having the meals planned for the entire week makes my life so much easier. One grocery trip and I'm done!
Meatballs are in the crockpot for dinner tonight. From scratch even 😳 I'm proud of that today. I may be an emotional basket case. But I did get dinner started.
I have short ribs I have to cook tomorrow. Leftovers Wednesday. Thursday is tbd Friday is tbd
I have been a bad wife lately. Can't seem to keep up with anything. And then the ob put me on "take it easy the next week" which means sit around and don't be a productive member of society. So yeah. I'm not much help.

How did you get started?
For me, the biggest hurdle was setting aside time to do the actual planning. I try to do it on Sundays when I am home so I can see what I already have in the fridge and cabinets. Otherwise, I will end up with 2-3 of the same item (because I assume I don't have any at home and buy more) and end up throwing a lot away.
When it comes to making the actual menu, I try to go for things that are either super easy and/or make good leftovers (for lunch during the week and/or for dinner on other nights). I also try to come up with items that share ingredients, so I don't have to buy so many separate items. It's easy to waste food when I am cooking for 2 (and a toddler) so having more than one use for an ingredient is helpful.

Jealous of your meal planning, I've cooked two meals this month. My plan consists of what takeout looks good or what pre made meals in the grocery store look good.
M: Taco salad T: leftovers W: Chicken tomatoe soup with spinach Th: leftovers F: Chicken Fajita soup S: leftovers Su: grocery shopping at Aldi
Everything is made in the crock pot. I my crock pot.
my aldi is closed for remodeling 😢 We have another one on the far opposite side of town. But it's not worth the drive over to that side of town 😢 I don't buy everything there. It's about half my grocery list. The other half is between a local chain store and SAMs. But still. All my canned goods and (when it's good...which is 50/50) my produce come from there.

ssm Bummer! Hope it re-opens soon. Ours is all the way across town too, but since I only go once a week I figure it's not so bad. Aldi is my favorite. We have a Sam's membership as well, but I always end up spending way too much when I go there, lol. We recently got new tires for one of our cars there though, so that was nice.

Those drunken Italian noodles look so good! Have to try them. I've been a real slacker in the cooking arena lately. Just feel so sick and the smells make it worse. So we've been eating a lot of wraps and soup. But liking all these ideas!

It saves a lot of headache and time when you have kids. My plan is like shop for whatever veg, protein, fruit is on special at the grocers. It's a win/win, I get to save $, get what is seasonal and saves me figuring out the menu for the week looks like. Typically grocery specials get posted online on Tuesdays and I go through it and make a list. I usually have to stop in midweek to grab vegetables anyways and will get half my veg for the week. If I get out of work at a reasonable time Friday's I typically stop in and get the other stuff or Saturday am is when I make a quick run. I spend pretty much all Saturday afternoon marathon prepping and cooking the main dishes, marinating etc. It isn't for everyone but I am very quick in the kitchen and used to cooking large quantities. I usually have something in the IP - best buy ever! I am an Instant Pot head!, oven, stovetop so usually 4 dishes all cooking at once. This way I only have to deep clean the kitchen once a week. I'll also double and triple so I can portion off and freeze for another time when I am too tired, something comes up, no time etc. During the week, I only really have to prep sides which really is only vegetables which takes no time at all. Like last week our fridge went kaput so we spent most of the week eating all the stuff I had frozen up! Now we got it fixed, I'll be stupid busy this weekend stocking up the freezer but it works for me and gives me time during the week to hang with DS.SaveSaveSaveSave
