I made E an eye appointment to check for possible lazy eye. I made it for next Thursday because MIL will be here visiting. She can watch DD1 and A. I can't stop thinking about how it's going to be SO weird going out with only 1 kid, let alone it being only 1 of the twins.
It is so weird!! I bought a single snap & go because DS has more doctors appointments than DD. Every time I use it I think to myself it's so weird. Like...."I'm not special anymore!"
That moment when your H calls you at the time he is supposed to be home to tell you he's working late. I've only done daycare drop off, worked all day, daycare pickup and now bedtime. No big deal.
This is my life! I'm terrified of going back to work and having to do all of this with 3 kids every day. I hope you had an extra glass of wine tonight!

I seem to take z more places by myself than I do w. My doctor's office has commented that they "only see the girl" to H. I promise I have twins! Z's eczema just scares H and makes him nervous to diaper her.
Last night I went to the multiples meeting and didn't head home until 9! I never stay out that late because I go to bed so early. While I was gone, h unloaded and loaded the dishwasher, took out the trash, and cleaned up some. All without prompting and before our ctj, which just didn't happen last night because I got back in so late. I needed last night so badly and had so much fun.
Now, I got up and checked our bank accounts because today is both payday and raise day. H and I both got the raises we were expecting. Only he's been getting a full 2% more than me for the same job with the same experience for 3 years in a row now. It's a male-owned, male-dominated company and its really showing. My patience for this place is growing thin.

Not going to lie....the days I do both pickup and dropoff are hard. It's just a lot to manage. You just have to be organized!
My H works half of the month on night shift and it's sometimes easier because he's around in the mornings to help out and I don't feel pressure to cook dinner at night because he's not there! When he's on dayshift he leaves the house at 4am and is basically MIA until 6:30pm.

I've been doing pick up and drop off for DD1 99% of the time for almost 2 years. But now with 2 more kids plus separate locations (DD1 will be in preschool), I think I'm going to lose my mind. Haha

Um... I'd probably be taking that to HR? Unless those raises are based on quantitative data, that's discrimination at its finest

We basically have no HR and this is just how it is in this company (from what I've heard). Women tend to stay because of the flexibility (It's a just get your hours in kind of place). I'm applying to several positions at woman-owned companies and bigger companies. I'll take my master's degree (which H doesn't have) and go play somewhere else. This is pretty much the straw that broke the camel's back.
Edit: This is the HR that only put Z and W on one of my insurances. We didn't find out that they weren't on my secondary until they were 5 months old.

I think I'll at least take over pickup when the babies start daycare next week. MH can't seem to get out of work on time. Monday I had to pack up the babies to go get the toddlers because MH still hadn't left his office when I talked to him 15 minutes before pickup. It's a 20 minute walk to come home and get the car. Yesterday I assumed he'd rectify the problem, so I didn't check when he was leaving work. He picked up the kids almost 10 minutes after daycare closed.

Yikes...10 minutes? I think I get charged by the minute if we're late. Hopefully he starts to leave on-time.
I have a 45 minute commute, so I turn my Waze on at 4:00pm to make sure that there's not an accident or something. And I've also let my boss know that I have to walk out the door by 4:30, no exceptions.
Also, I picked mine up at 5:15 and they were the last kids there! LIke, wut? Who are these people getting out of work so early!! haha

Most of the kids in the infant 1 room are picked up between 4:30 and 4:45, judging by our pickups at 4:15 (full room) and 4:45 (last kids there). I work through lunch so I can go home earlier.

It's a home daycare, so they bend the rules but get crabby about it. They're supposed to charge us. MH is awful at being on time, so I think it's better that I plan around that.

At the company I worked for it was not uncommon for people to live 2hrs away (and traffic could turn it into 4), so flexible schedules were pretty common. It was also a construction based organization, so my 7:30 start was considered late. A lot of parents worked 6a to 2:30.

I would absolutely love to work 6-2:30! It would never fly at my company though, and I'm not sure how you would work that with daycare......

Spouse did drop off at a normal time, the staggered shifts were really helpful. Or we had a nanny- the kids were still sleeping when I left for work!
Ok talk to me about these ultrasound weights. I know they're estimates. But today at 34 weeks, they estimated these two at 5lb 6oz each! My grandma made me super paranoid telling me stories about people in my family who had 9lb plus twin babies. dukegirlsc, mustloveerica, LydiaDeetz do you remember what yours were estimated at at 34 weeks? I'm mostly just curious- I know all that matters is that they grow and they're healthy.
At 34 weeks mine each supposedly weighed 5.5lbs. I had them 4 days later - they each weighed LESS then 5lbs. Don't let the ultrasound weights scare you. I would venture to say they are wrong at least 90% of the time.
Good for you @feegan, mine are a bit too young for your tips. But will be helpful when we go again at Christmas. Glad it all worked out and you survived! Definitely a medal is deserved!

They underestimated Z because her belly was squished and they overestimated W because of his giant head.
We finally found something to help with bath time. It always started as terrified screaming, whether we used the infant tub, the real tub, or the bath sling. I ordered a bath pillow and it saved my sanity. Z almost fell asleep in the tub (she stayed until the water was cool for her eczema) and W only screamed in terror until I got him covered in the wet towel. They were bathed quickly and W didn't fight sleep. It was wonderful.

Link?
Mine love bathtime, but the blue bathtub in the kitchen sink doesn't seem that comfortable now that they are too big for the sling.
requiressnacks, This one. It smelled awful when I took it out of the bag, but the smell died down pretty quickly and I gave it a thorough surface wash and rinse before we used it.
Z spent some time on her belly (just a couple of inches of water, her head was still on the pillow, way out of the water) and was completely comfortable. They're honestly going to outgrow it in a few months, but no screaming is totally worth it for me.
Cartoons for the win today guys. I'm not a terrible mom right? She never gets to watch cartoons so she is absolutely in heaven learning about these new characters. And I get to put my feet up and not have my vagina scream in pain
I remember a lot of you talking about the mom guilt at the end. I get it now. Poor kid.
Well we're headed for our first ER trip. Just waiting for MH to get home so I don't have to take both kids. W pushed A off a train at the children's museum today. Lots of tears. Once we all calmed down there's no visible damage and he seems fine... until the kid tries to stand. He's clearly in pain and walking crooked. Ugh. He's chilling in my lap kinda dozing (of course they fell asleep in the car for 20 minutes and now no one wants to nap).
