Grocery store this morning and then I'm taking the kids to see my mom at work. She's been super sad since my sister moved last week, so I hope it'll be a pick me up.
Morning! Sorry to be MIA, the last few days have been nuts.
We've had 10 showings, 1 repeat showing, and received 2 offers. One was a joke (weak on price and they wanted like, half our stuff 🙄) but the other was very strong so we accepted. I feel like we should be celebrating but I'm mostly just sad. If everything goes as planned, we'll close 5/1, which is sooner than we were hoping for but oh well.
This all went down last night so we're waiting on the final contract, so in the meantime our realtor wants her agency's 'caravan' to come thru JIC this falls through. So I probably won't be around much today, either.
Kids are great; I went yesterday and got C an Easter bonnet. It was fun trying different things on her and a nice break from thinking about/cleaning the house!
Hope everyone is doing ok--I promise I'll be back soon!
Sorry your grandma is declining faster than they were thinking she would. @peachsmama Maybe your SIL will just go into labor tonight and won't need the induction.
Morning! I am taking H to preschool in a little bit and then S has her post-op appt for her tubes. I'm going to stop at sbux in between because I didn't plan the appt time very well so we will have to sit and wait a bit.
Congrats LizInFL! I'm not surprised that you got offers so quickly though, your house is gorgeous. I can only imagine the mixed emotions involved though.
After all the sleep talk yesterday, we may have made a breakthrough last night. The breakthrough being that we often make it worse by checking in on him instead of just giving him a good 10 minutes to work through it. Time just goes so slowly in the MOTN when he's screaming, but he really DOES pipe down within a few minutes if he doesn't get anything out of it.
Well, he did last night anyhow. As DH reminded me this morning, what works today won't necessarily work tomorrow. That man is wise, LOL.

LizInFL, congrats on the offer. I know it is sooner than you would like, but that's better than it not selling or sitting on the market forever.
I am sorry about your grandmother @peachsmama. I really hope she can meet that baby before she goes. Hey, it may be the one thing that is keeping her going. And GL w weaning. I drank peppermint tea as well when I weaned C a couple months back.

So yesterday mh locked us out of the house. We had been outside looking at the patio progress and then playing w the kids since it wasn't cold. We were outside w out our keys, naturally, since we were just in our yard. But why the F did he feel the need to lock the door! Ugh - I could've strangled him. After 45min waiting for a locksmith and $130 later, we finally got back inside. grumble grumble
LizInFL don't really blame people for wanting your stuff! Lol. Congratulations on the offer! I know it's bitter sweet. I was so sad to sell our house.
Lol! I was thinking the same. When you see such a gorgeously done home, it's hard to imagine it with your stuff in it because their stuff was perfect.
Congrats LizInFL on the quick sale! I hope nothing falls through. I know the next several months will be crazy for you leading up to the move. I forgot, when are you headed North?
Well it was less furniture/decor and mostly our electronics and w/d that they wanted...and some other odds and ends my H's desk, which was expensive and not something he's willing to part with. It wouldn't have been so bad if their offer had been higher...I mean, we still would have said no, but might have countered. But as it was, it was low, and then once we added in replacement costs for everything they asked for, it was like, is this a joke? Lol. Gotta give them credit for trying, I guess.
We won't move til end of July/early August, so it'll be living at Chez Liz's Parents for 3 months. April is going to be insanity, but as we like to say in the military, we are 'embracing the suck'. And drinking copiously.

Ben puts himself down so much better for naps bc I'll let him cry/fuss longer than MOTN when I don't want to wake sam. I think B would be a much better sleeper if I was able to be more consistent!

Thanks to cagoldi's eye drop referral I can now see today without tearing up. I also ordered some frames from Warby Parker to try on at home to decide what I like so I can get new glasses.
It's an awesome shore town. It's dry, but you can go right over the bridge to have dinner with booze (5 min), it just means the Snookies of the world stay away from it and you don't see drunk Jersey Shore messes. There's an awesome boardwalk with theme parks, water slides, restaurants, shopping, bike and surrey rental. Basically, it's where I take my kid every day. The beaches are gorgeous and so clean. Plus you can be in the Cape May Zoo or Atlantic City in 30 minutes. It's my favorite place in the world.
Resorts really aren't a thing down the shore. There are some hotels but they tend to be in the busier part of the island. Most people rent houses. There are definitely a few hotels but you can get a much more luxurious home with room for everyone. Let me know if you need help with shore house rentals or any specific area.
I would look into Port-o-call or Flanders but other than that, they are either motels or more like bed and breakfasts. Plus, during high season you can pay a lot.
In terms of food, I don't know that you would get that room service anywhere but The Flanders. Everything is walkable though so if you stayed somewhere like the Port-O-Call, it's on the boardwalk and one of you could easily run downstairs for food.
Stone Harbor which is about 20 minutes away opened up The Reeds at Shelter Haven a couple of years ago which is a luxury hotel: www.reedsatshelterhaven.com We have eaten there a few times, I don't find it particularly kid friendly and rooms start at $600/night. But it's really nice, you're just going to pay a ton during high season.
I would look at The Flanders. www.theflandershotel.com/en/ It has a pool and its right on the boardwalk by the rides.
Cherhorowitz while you're "here" can you recommend a dry shampoo? The well water at my parents house forces me to wash it way more than I want to. Hoping dry shampoo could help me out. Do they make it color specific? I've never tried any.

Now I need a Jersey Shore vacation! It sounds wonderful!
We're supposed to go to the Cape this summer for our big, extended family vacation, but I'm suddenly far more interested in NJ instead. Ehh, it's not like DH started planning anyway.
Last summer we sold MH's 15 year old truck and bought him a new one. We didn't want to sell to anyone we knew because we didn't want to have to hear about it having problems if we ran into them at the grocery store or anything. Well, the only offer we got was from my old boss (former principal and now school superintendent), who is a friend, and his wife was Sierra's first babysitter when I first went back to work. They bought it for their 16 year old son. We disclosed all the issues it had and he gave us full asking price for it. Yesterday I saw it sitting outside the repair shop. Today I saw the wife/Sierra's old babysitter at the store. I love her dearly but I tried to dodge her because I was afraid to hear about the truck. She saw me and only asked about S. Told me how much she misses her and said I need to bring her by. Whew. Dodged a bullet there.

Cadence is wearing someone else's pants. I put a uniform dress in her backpack for after dance class. She is wearing her uniform shirt with someone else's gray pants. I get that sometimes she flat out refuses to wear whatever I pack for her, but she has her OWN pants in her cubby if that's the case. I don't like them putting her in other people's clothes. What if she damages them or something? Ugh.
