How does my husband not hear the baby monitor? It's on full blast less than 2 feet from his head.
Are we married to the same person?? My H started taking the monitor on his side of the bed recently b/c I was waking up to every movement and getting zero sleep. Well, it turned into me still waking up first when DD1 woke up and then just having the walk around to his side to mute it before going to take care of her anyways. So monitor is back on my side of the bed. I wish I could sleep like my husband!
Yeah I don't mute it lol. I used to turn it off but I would forget to turn it back on. Plus he's not hearing it anyway. I'm just glad I'm not alone in this! I have to wake him to let the dog out too.
mikaela20 DD likes her Rock N Play and sleeps pretty solidly in there. We use it during the day for naps on the main floor of the house. We just have the regular one.
So question, what does your DD sleep in upstairs? Is it something with a completely flat surface? I would love to keep the RnP downstairs and have DS sleep in his pack n play in our room but I'm worried he won't be able to make the transition now that he's been consistently sleeping in his RnP.
We're home and adjusting to life with two LOs. So far, DS2 is a chill baby. I'm crossing all my crossables that he stays that way after DS1's colic hell. However he will only sleep on me so that's the biggest challenge so far. One of the advantages of being a STM I guess is that I know it will pass!
erinshelley21, that's a good point about him not hearing it anyways. Maybe I should put the monitor back on H's side! My H doesn't even have to be sleeping to "not hear" something. We will be sitting in our room before bed and the dogs will be tap dancing waiting to go out for the last time (which is usually around 9pm, so this starts by 830pm typically) b/c they get ice creams at bedtime. He can completely ignore / "not notice" them up and down in our faces until I have to say something along the lines of "I'm going to f*ing kill these dogs". Then it's a 50/50 chance of him dealing with them or I have to do it myself. (I should say he is super helpful around the house..just his ability to completely ignore some things is amazing to me).

curious about this a well. I'm thinking about having DDv sleep on something flat at night so the transition is easier later.

They make crib wedges so babies can sleep on an incline forever. Ds slept with one until 10 months old. We forgot it on vacation and that was the only reason we stopped using it.
For those talking about rnps, I had one with dd1 and she loved it (& I may end up using it again because I love how light & easy it is to move it around the house if needed). I bought a Graco Dreamglider swing + sleeper, which seems to be similar (although it swings instead of rocks technically, but it does vibrate too if you turn that on) but you can adjust it between inclined and flat. No clue how dd2 will like it but my thought was if she has any trouble transitioning to flat maybe this will help her adjust? Mainly I just wanted to buy something new for dd2 and this looked cool.
In other news, I legit feel like I'm going to get my period this morning. C'mon body, let's do something here!
I have heard stories of RnP addicted babies. I am only slightly kidding. The sides of it are like a nice cuddle and of course the incline. I will be attempting to only use it as my emergency plan at night as it is my main baby holder during the day.
We typically have Jack in a bassinet with the mattress on a slight incline. Ironically enough I was getting him used to sleeping completely flat so I can move him to his crib.
And then last night happened. Ha.
There is also concern for flat spot on baby's head due to the hard plastic piece under the cover.
There are pros and cons to everything of course.
How did you incline the bassinet mattress? DS' doctor recommended that for his reflux but when we tried to prop up one end with things-book,Blanket etc it made his neck/head position too awkward. I can't find a wedge for bassinets.
DS took my boob for 40 mins early this morning ! I was so happy. We did skin to skin after and we dossed off for 1.5hr. I don't like sleeping with him on me like that but I'm glad we got some extra sleep.

Just what you did. I have a muslin swaddle blanket rolled up. But it took some adjusting to get it right.

Upstairs she's in a mini crib in our room. I put her in a wearable blanket/swaddle and also stretch a muslin blanket over her legs (I pin it between the mattress and the crib slats). We also usually warm up her spot in the crib with a heating pad before she goes in, and that seems to help but it could be my imagination.

DD is already looking a bit bigger in her newborn sleepers. The premie outfit we brought her home was snug on her yesterday. I hope this means we are in for good news tomorrow at the pedi.

Yeah so I remember the RnP addicted babies from my last bmb. I do plan on switching her to a flat surface at night. Maybe I'll do that tonight, is we will see.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the rnp! It was a lifesaver on many occasions and will be using it again! I will talk that thing up and down and if you are thinking of using it I say do it!
So I was up from 2:30-4 with some intense back pain wondering if it was back labor (didn't have it with Clara). Then I got up and peed and it pretty much stopped. So here I am at work. Ugh. I want it to be Friday so I can go to the OB and get her input on what is going to happen. Inducing or waiting. WFH or what.

We are the opposite. PnP downstairs during the day for E and RnP at night in our room. And then his crib for morning nap. N will sleep anywhere, she is less picky than E.

My toddler finally didn't wake up crying last night. She's in a great mood, playing on her own and not freaking out when Max is in my lap. Could this mean her teeth are finally giving her a break?!?!
Lots of contractions that didn't turn into anything last night. This afternoon we're putting DS in daycare so DH and I can have a last date before baby comes. I'm so excited for it!

I'm a huge RnP fan. I'll cross the addiction bridge if and when we get to it.
