We have a production meeting every morning at 8:45 and I barely made it on time today. I have daycare drop-off (only on Wednesdays) after the bus picks the girls up and the bus was a few minutes later than usual, so I was in mad rush to get to work. I made it with with barely a minute to spare. Whew.

We're having my co-worker's baby shower during lunch today, which means my favorite pizza from my favorite pizza place. Yum yum. We were all asked to bring a "classic" baby book for her, so I brought her the book "Toot" by Leslie Patricelli. An adorable, funny book about farting is classic in my mind. I love that book.

Slow morning then we're going to Cincinnati this afternoon with my sister and her kids. It's a little over an hour away. We're going to the children's museum then out to dinner with DH since that's where he's working this week.

Right now O is taking her morning nap in my arms.

Well, I feel better today....not back to normal by any means but much better. I ended up doing doctor on demand and they did a RX for amoxicillin as it would treat probably anything I had (besides the flu obviously), and after taking two pills so far I feel like it's already making a difference. I managed to lay low last night and went to bed early and tried to get some quality rest and I think it helped. Most everything today is in my throat and ears - I am hoping the meds take care of it.

I would love for this work week to be over. We have some crazy stuff going on and my days have been consumed by meetings lately. My boss is very good at being dramatic and overreacting about everything, so that's been fun. Since I already don't feel well coupled with his antics, I just want to be at home.

My dad turns 70 on Saturday and we're going out to dinner with my parents....but I have zero idea what to do for him as a gift. He's very hard to shop for, and my parents are pretty well off so they tend to buy whatever they might want. I need ideas.

Supposed to warm up nicely today. We have a playdate at the park with 2 of my coworkers that are on mat leave now as well. Preschool this afternoon and my mom is coming over. DH and I are hoping to get out on our motorcycles for a quick ride.

ksyknelvr73, Glad you got some antibiotics and are feeling better. I have the same problem buying for my parents. My dad bought a smoker last fall. I guess he just couldn't wait until Christmas8-| I bought him a vacuum sealer, a gift card for meat, and dry rubs for Christmas. Is there any recent purchase or hobby you could buy accessories for? Booze? Homemade gift from his grandkids?

ksyknelvr73 - I'm glad you're feeling better. I have no idea how much you're looking to spend, but is there an "experience" or excursion that you can get for your dad, like a hot air balloon ride or a glider ride or something of that nature?

@holachica, I've been dealing off and on with a clogged duct too. It sucks. I always forget the electric toothbrush trick.

This morning I spent a little extra time in bed. I ended up paying for it because G woke up just as I was getting up to get in the shower. I still managed to get out the door on time. MH tried to go to the barbershop again, and it was closed due to a death in the family. He was all aggravated that he rushed to get there when the shop opened. Oh well, not my problem. He has a meeting tonight, so he'll be leaving as soon as I get home.

ksyknelvr73, experiences are a great idea. My mom is notoriously hard to buy for. We were at a museum, and I saw a brochure for a lighthouse cruise. She loves lighthouses, so I got her a ticket for a cruise to go this spring or summer. You could check Groupon for deals on experiences too. I got MH one of those race car driving experiences a few years back.

I started going to a MOPS group a 1/2 hour away the end of January. I really like it and want to talk to my church about starting one. I planned on going to my church today to talk to the Pastor about it. I'm nervous. I may be rushing things since I just started going to this church after Lil P was born. Any advice?

I like the idea of an experience...I may have to browse around and see what I can find. He and my mom travel a good bit so it's always hard to try and plan things since I never know when they will be out of town, but I could ask my mom before I buy anything. I feel like the main thing they tend to splurge on are electronics and trips, so when I say they have it all....it's not an exaggeration. It's hard to explain because I know what he likes, he just tends to do it all (or buy it all) himself already.

I do also like the idea of having the grandkids do something for him, or maybe a photo gift or something. Although I'm pretty short on time now, but I could give it to him later and he probably wouldn't care.

We'll add it to our list. He's working in Covington. I'd love to go to IKEA and Jungle Jim's but I think that's the other side of town.

Just surviving after an awful night. Going to run some errands for dd2s birthday. No work I have done on dd2s naps has helped, so I'm not being sequestered in my house every day in the hopes that something will work. I've got to sleep train and get rid of the binky.
Good luck on the MOPS talk penguin129. I have such tunnel vision on my issues right now, I don't have any advice, I'm sorry.

If you know they have a trip planned, maybe buy an excursion or dinner at a restaurant they usually go to on the trip.

They have a graeters inside the museum (unless it's closed due to the renovations there). It's to the right of the entrance in the corner. There's also one in Covington. IKEA and Jungle Jims are about 30 minutes north of Covington and the museum.

fem, becole We're thinking of heading down that way tomorrow to go to the Newport Aquarium, we love that place. DS is in love with my mom's goldfish, so we think he'd like it. They move slow enough for him to track easily. I wish I could swing Jungle Jim's too - we use to head down there all the time in college. DH probably will just wanna get back though, since we're driving home Friday.

DS STTN here at my mom's, thank goodness. He's had some trouble adjusting to the new space here and the PNP, his naps have been frequent and short. Solids have been going well, he loves it and eats pretty well! No issues with pushing the food back out of his mouth again. He loves eating so much, he's getting PO'd every time he sees us putting something in our mouth.

We rotate having passes to the aquarium, museum, and always get one for the zoo. I think Friday is going to be beautiful for the zoo but it might be expensive for just a short visit.
The aquarium has some great stuff for an indoor day. I always feel safe taking two there by myself too. I've only take two to the zoo once- makes me nervous to be outside with two.

sanibel21 Getting rid of the pacifier was the best thing I've done so far. Sucked at first, and will probably suck again on car rides, but much better at night. Until sleep gets better, sending you a hug.

We had another rough night. DD just cant keep the freaking pacifier in her mouth! She's a belly sleeper and now that she's in her own crib and can roll over, she looses it like 10 times a night. Im thinking we might have to transition her to have it only for naps and fussy times during the day.

On a positive note, I didn't realize until a few days ago, that I had Endless Spending Rewards from my registry at BBRU. The people at our local store are morons that barely can work a computer, and they never explained any of the rewards programs with us. I ordered something the other day and it said the purchase was worth Savings Rewards so I did some serious digging on the site and found out that I had $323 worth of Egift cards that has expired a week ago!!! I emailed them and explained, new mom, tons of emails, idiots in the store, and they and sending me a new one!!! I cant believe it, I almost cried. They have been such a pain in the ass with everything we have ever done in that place and the corporate company saved the day.

Today has been a shit show and it's only 11am. DD was up at 630. Just got her back down at 730 when DS got up. Of course, he's never quiet enough so DD barely went back to sleep. Now theyre both in their rooms. Nobody is coming out until naps are had (DS is in a foul mood, so he can either nap or lay there quietly). And I've already had my cup of coffee this morning but really want like 1 or 2 or 3 more. And I'm starving but also all food makes me queasy.

This morning was stupid. DD is battling some serious congestion, and during her MOTN feed at 2am, she puked down my back because she choked on phlegm. Awesome. She slept like crap the rest of the night, which means I slept like crap too. Ended up getting up SUPER late for work, and had to scramble. Didn't pack a bottle for daycare (but remembered to pack breastmilk). Luckily my dad was home and was able to drop a bottle off to daycare. Work hasn't been too bad since I got here, so that's my one saving grace.

That sounds like a really rough night adouces06. My DD does that whole mucus cough/gag/barf thing too on occasion and it's just too much sometimes. And honestly, once something so major happens in the middle of the night, it's hard to go back to sleep and really get that quality rest.

Sounds like there are a few kiddos here who NEED TO SLEEP in general and give you guys a break.

I ordered these in blue last week to treat myself, along with a few other things for MH and the boys. The sneakers shipped separately from everything else, so I had two tracking numbers. I checked the numbers and saw that one was being delivered today. I thought it was the sneakers, so I got all excited. MH called me to tell me that it was actually everything else. My shoes should be here on Friday though. Much excite.

Dang it. Just got a call from daycare that DS2 has a fever. They sent him home Monday with a fever of 102 so I took him to urgent care. There it was only 99.7 but the doc did prescribed antibiotics for an ear infection. Now he's out the rest of today and tomorrow for a fever.

I really hope it's nothing. It's just so frustrating because he didn't have a fever all weekend or all day yesterday. Why just at daycare??!

Omg today needs to end. Both kids took a 20 minute nap earlier. Then DD proceeded to scream for the next 3 hours. Fed, changed, orajel, bounce. Nothing. Lay her on the playmat next to DS. Happy as a clam. Tried to put her back down, more screaming. Bundled the kids up even though its freezing and she was out like a light on me. Tried to transfer her back to crib she woke up but she's not hollering currently so she can stay down there.
