good: I stopped at Starbucks on the way to work which never really happens because I'm cheap and there's free coffee at work. Bad: tried out the new almond macchiato thingy they've been advertising and wasn't impressed Good: today is my Friday at work! Bad: I forgot one of the flanges to my pump at home so I'll be pumping one side at a time today
Lilah isn't feeling well. She's a touch congested and has a cough. I didn't sleep well and was up from about 2-4:30. Lilah wanted to nurse a lot so I was in and out a bit before and after that time. I put a movie on for Lillian hoping she'll let me doze.
Park playdate/birthday party at 10. That's all I have on the agenda today.
Sorry for the rough nights danib and ClassyMrsA. FX for naps today.
Morning! It's overcast and rainy here today so it might be an indoor day 😳The public schools are on spring break this week so all the kid-friendly stuff has been overrun the last few days.
I need to start purging so I may go through the kids' clothes and hold out some things for my sister's eventual babies, and attempt to consign the rest.
Mom and I are going to see Beauty and the Beast tonight--I'm exciiiited!
And C rolled over unassisted yesterday for the first time 😊

I am so sick of staring at the ceiling hour after hour every night. Maybe I should look into those meditation playlists or something. Insomnia is the pits.

That's wonderful of your neighbor danib. I'm so sorry for more bad sleep. You've got to be coming up on a good night soon.
That Starbucks story is disappointing @tjanca23! That's something I would have tried too. Hope your 'Friday' goes quickly!
I hope Lilah feels better as the day goes on ClassyMrsA.
vinolove how's J been doing at night? I hope better for you.
I want to go see Beauty and the Beast so so so bad LizInFL. It was my favorite movie growing up. My mom had to replace the VHS multiple times from overuse. I hope she has good ear plugs. Or wine.
ETA Can y'all tell I'm terrified of getting rid of the swaddle? LOL!
You and me both.
I'm still so pumped that D is sleeping in her crib 100% of the time now but I'm terrified of the next step. She is a major flailer and also still startles sometimes. I feel like leaving one arm out is asking for trouble. But it has to happen sometime 😕
So jealous of an outdoor birthday party ClassyMrsA. Around here you'd be majorly rolling the dice if you were to try to plan something like that even in May. I'm so over the cold. danib noooo I was really hoping you'd get a good night--you're due! sophiegrace ugh insomnia is terrible. I'm so sorry you're dealing with that!
ETA Can y'all tell I'm terrified of getting rid of the swaddle? LOL!
You can do it!! I did it when she was in the midst of her terrible sleeping phase so idk how much was regression and how much was having the ability to rub her face awake, but now she only does it when she's hungry. I'm sure H will transition fantastically for you.
tgrimes1980 crossing everything that H doesn't follow in those footsteps! That is awful I can't remember, sorry--have you tried the Merlin? I remember you asking about it but not if you went for it or not.
Busy, crazy day here.
D has her 4 month appointment in an hour so I need to get my ass in gear. Straight from there we are going out to lunch with a group of moms and babies from my Wednesday moms group.
Then I need to come home and clean/decorate/set up for a going-away party my other moms group (from DS) is having for one of our girls that's moving away. I offered to host. Don't ask me why. Who willingly invites six 2-year olds into their home? Part of my "cleaning" will involve putting all the things away and out of reach.
dashook I bought the merlin and tried it for a couple of his naps Sunday. I haven't tried it at bedtime yet though.
Yeah, I haven't done bedtime with it either. It works fine for her naps but she claws her face when she's wearing it and wakes herself up. Hence why I prefer the swaddle!
danib I'm so sorry about the sleep but at least you don't have to shovel. Is your cough any better?
sophiegrace is M keeping you up or is it your own insomnia? I had to stop looking at my phone overnight bc it was just winding me up and I couldn't fall back asleep sometimes.
I think the previews look like they did a good job with Beauty and the Beast. I'll be excited to see it someday. But I have so many other movies on my to-see list before that. I really want to see some of the Oscar noms and of course, the best pic winner, Moonlight.
I think we had a better night last night. She predictably woke up at 930 screaming and writhing, but I was able to nurse her back to sleep and then crawl into bed with her by 1030. It's a little foggy bc I was just side nursing her, but I think she only woke 2 more times before O woke up at 630 for the day (which is a dramatic improvement from the 5am wake up yesterday)!
And MH is coming home today after a week of work travel! Yay!!!!!!!
dashook It's a tiny bit risky here because it can be extremely humid and gross here in March/April. Like the kind of warm and humid where you're like just rain already! But, I do love that I packed away my winter clothes yesterday knowing I won't need them for months. In CO it snowed on Mother's Day. Hated that.
Also, I regularly invite a bunch of toddlers to my house! I had 6 toddlers (1-3 yrs) in my house on Monday actually. It is a bit chaotic, but it'll be fun. We do have a few wild ones in the group, but mostly they behave pretty well in other people's houses in my experience.

I will be trying that tonight @tgrimes1989, thank you.
hangry I've been scared to say how M's been sleeping all week for fear of jinxing it lol. It's all my own insomnia. I've had problems with it since childhood. That's why I never participated in the MOTN threads back in the early newborn days. I didn't want my phone adding to the lack of sleep. I'm so glad E did better last night! And enjoy having your H home! That has to be the best feeling.
ETA Can y'all tell I'm terrified of getting rid of the swaddle? LOL!
Yes, at night with the A&A blankets. We leave her arms out and have for at least the last 3 months or so.
She likes to thrash around and lift her legs up and down, so a lot of mornings I go in to find it just kind of wrapped around her waist.
I don't know if I should put her in a sleep sack or just let her be without it. She sleeps so well that I'm kind of afraid to mess with it but I know it's probably time.
How much of a coincidence is it that Lilah got sick the day after her vaccines? Is this a weird side effect I should be calling her dr about? Or not connected, just a cold that happened to pop up?

A cold I would chalk up to coincidence.
Agreed. I remember B had a bit of a reaction after his 4-month vaccines--low-grade fever, light rash, IIRC--that I attributed to them. But a cold, probably not.

O is officially rolling over! Last night I put him in his crib to run his bath, when I came back he was on his tummy! He's done it 3 more times since then. (I think he's been doing it at daycare...) The antibiotics seem to be helping him, he still has a bad cough and congestion. I'm tired of being sick myself! Ever since he's been sick our MTTN wake ups take forever! Usually he wakes me up by talking to himself on the monitor lol not crying. Then by the time I'm finished changing, suctioning and feeding him he's WIDE awake. Luckily H has been off the past few nights so I go wake him up so he can rock him hehe and I can go back to sleep.

Also, has anyone else's babies decided mom's nipples are suddenly chew toys? He will bite down on the tip of my nipple w his gums and pull! Ouch! Idk why he's doing that!
tjanca22 I'm usually disappointed when I try something new. MH always tells me to branch out but it never ends well. Ha ha ha!
This! I'm a really boring Starbucks orderer, normally I just get the Americano so when something new comes along I get my hopes up. Don't crush me my hopes and dreams Starbucks!

I just got my pies!
MH is a very smart man. The last time I the pie truck came to work before I was on leave, they were supposed to have Nutella cream pie. MH looooves Nutella and was so excited for me to being him home a pie, but when the pie truck showed up they didn't have Nutella. I felt bad so I made MH his own Nutella pie. He's asked me to make it a few times since then, too. Well, today they had Nutella, so I took a picture of the menu and sent it to MH, here's his response:
