Thanks everyone for input. Naples is chaotic in the way people drive, it's old and rundown, hospitals are old, everyone is constantly up in your business, etc. But this is the culture of Italy. I'm just afraid to leave Switzerland for a new place.
Moves are scary, so I totally get this. I think I'd also choose to go where I have family and friends.
Today is mh's first day off this week but he has a class and a meeting at noon, so he is staying at work and sleeping in his car for a few hours instead of coming home. He won't be home until after 4 and will probably want to sleep (which I get), and be asleep through dinner and bedtime. It's crap, a waste of a day off and I will get no help. I'm not mad at him, just annoyed at the situation. //rant over
I totally get this. DH is on a business trip, but he kept complaining that it was pointless for him to go. He was annoyed with his job which in turn made me annoyed that I'm flying totally solo for a few days.
This! Bf is away for 2 weeks (home on the weekend) and is complaining he doesn't need to be there. And then sending me pics of his hotel suite. And daring to complain that he doesn't want to go out to dinner by himself. He also slept too late to go to the gym.
If I wasn't so busy with 2 kids I'd play my tiny violin for him.
Snip I may be getting a new phone today and I am torn between sticking to the iPhone or switching to a galaxy S7. Thoughts? Dh has a Samsung note and he is a huge fan. I have only ever had iPhones so I am hesitant to switch but only because I'm not big in change.
I switched 2 years ago and never looked back! I love my Samsung
It's... not good. All he's learned is how to hold it. So yesterday he peed while in his high chair eating lunch, on my lap (thankfully just a little), in the potty once under duress, and in his diaper during nap time. On Monday he peed like thirty times (all over the floor) so holding it so long is a concern
And he held his poop until naptime and had a huge blow out that required a bath. If your toddler is saying "poop" over and over, you should check it out sooner rather than later. At least he didn't paint with it?
He hasn't figured out the 'go in the potty, get treats' thing. He's just frustrated and so are we. I'm encouraging him to sit on it for a count of five, but he won't pee.
The books make it sound soooo simple. They are a crock.

heybulldog56 I love my Galaxy s6 but everyone I know has iPhones and it would be nice to FaceTime vs using Skype. That's one main reason I'm considering switching even though I've been an Android girl the whole time

That's the main reason why I would stick with an iPhone. We use FaceTime to talk to my parents every now and again.

We have W's two month check and shots in an hour. I'm hoping he's like DS1 and they won't affect him except to make him sleepy. But I won't hold my breath.
We had our carpets cleaned today and I can't wait for H to get home so we can set up our new bed! I've also managed to pick up most of the house and have almost all the laundry in our house done, including comforters. I waited to clean for FAR too long.
silvermelody thanks for the total honest response. Everyone always acts like it's so easy, but I don't foresee it being easy for DS.
I'm amazed at how many people on A14 are breezy like "oh yeah been PT for months"
I really thought he was ready and I still think he can figure it out, but it is not a three day process. But "potty train in 3-14 days, maybe, who knows?" is not a title that would sell lol

silvermelody, my toddler is an S14 baby. Last summer/fall she sat on the potty a few times. And accidentally peed in it once.
For the past several months, she won't even consider it. I ask her when she'll pee and poop on the potty and she says "not yet." She tells us she's pooping and we tell her to sit on the potty, she says "no, just change my diaper."
Meanwhile, a facebook friend just posted that her #21monthold is now #officiallypottytrained

Ugh, peaseblossom55, I would resent any job I had to wear heels and makeup to every day. I'm glad you got a nanny and you can stop stressing about it. Please post video of said raspberries if you can 😁
weeklyplanner, I LOVE American eagle jeans. I hate that they discontinued the Artist style because I am way more of a flare than skinny jeans person.
lakegirl, I'm glad first night in the nursery went well. I don't think we're there yet. Mostly because of the noise machine I think.
meeggaannw, that is annoying, but good for you for separating annoyance from being mad at YH. Sometimes I have a hard time doing that.
silvermelody, sorry potty training is so hard. Hopefully it clicks soon.
thelittleredm, such a productive day! I'm impressed!
I just got home from work. I love coming home and having C smile at me. I'm scared of leap 2 and hoping it's not as bad as everyone's saying. We're not due for it for a few days, but she already does a lot of what the book says she will after? She "talks" and follows noises and seems to study things now. Hopefully it won't be so bad.
I need to drop our comforter off at the dry cleaner because one of the dogs peed on it. She never has before but she's on steroids and they said it could make her very thirsty and need to go out a lot. Hopefully that's it and she's not sick
Spoke with the pedi. We're putting B on meds for reflux. She also suspects that the reflux contributes to his poor sleeping at night when it wakes him up. Please baby Jesus be the answer.

Meds for reflux were the game changer for my DS. Zantac didn't work at first, so we switched to Prevacid and he was a new kid!
pibblemom I'm trying to convince mh that we need another sound machine but he thinks two is enough. We might have two but hello, they're not in our room anymore! They have spoiled me and I can't go back to just the fan. I will convert him to my sound machine ways. Slowly but surely.
I hope your pup is okay and it's just the meds. I hate when they're under the weather and can't tell us.

I hope this is the answer for you guys! I'll cross everything.

This is exactly my A14 son.
+1 This A14 is not giving up nappies anytime soon. We've had one chance pee and poo on the toilet but if I ask him when he's pooping if he'd rather use the potty I get told "no! Back Back" as he holds his hand up at me.... I'm going to tackle it in summer
Hi, just lately I feel that I haven't had a minute to my self and today has just felt like the worse. My A14 is the devil child at play groups right now, doesn't express himself so well so acts out with biting and hitting. He's so lovely other times but then it all goes tits up. He needs to nap but nope thats gone out the window and with F being so needy in the evenings, getting M to bed earlier to compensate is not happening as it should.
I tried to get him to nap today, then settled for him chilling on the sofa. I even had F napping in his carry-cot but that was short lived as M wanted to see what I was doing then hit his brother and woke him...
2 months shots were last week and left me with a clingy and unhappy little boy who did not want to sleep.
Plus sides, my partner has gone back on meds and is seeking further help with his depression and has realised and admitted he has been a complete arse the last 5 months or so. It took him breaking shit and me saying I was afraid of him and would leave to get him to get help but still. I'm still on edge with him and not sure really how I see our relationship going in a year from now but for now baby steps. And smiles, I love smiles.

Re: potty training I recently had a GTG with 3 F14 kids, including my own. 1 has been potty trained for at least a year, 1 isn't close at all, and mine has for a month or two. Comparing is so hard. They just do things on their own schedule.
I'm super worried that I'll be comparing my 2 boys all the time

otepoti, Huge hugs and hair pats and wine. That's a lot to deal with all at once. I hope things sort themselves out soon.
W had a great check up today! He's 13lbs 10oz and 23.75". He was full of smiles and partial giggles for the nurse, pediatrician, and NP in training. I mean, until they stuck his legs with his shots. But luckily, his crying subsided as soon as I picked him up.
I didn't realize how much anxiety I've been carrying around this whole time about his weight gain. I knew he was fine, obviously, based on size but I think after all the issues with DS1's slow growth, I just kept expecting to hear something bad. I felt such a weight lift when the nurse read his numbers on the scale and even more so when his pediatrician laughed about his chunk.

I feel a little better that my kiddo isn't the only one not trained and not quite ready. But now that we've started we're committed to getting it done. I'm just not sure how to make it click. I even put on the Daniel Tiger episode last night, which he's seen before, but it didn't really help. He likes the song at least.

I have heard that if it's not working to stop for a few weeks and then revisit. It could be developmental and he's just not there yet? I'm no expert though so take it all with a grain of salt.

I did see a parenting page about Potty training boys and it said they might be 18months of 4 years before they are ready. The 4 years part makes me nervous.
