IDGAF about the Stockholm syndrome theories about Beauty and the Beast. There are way way worse fairy tales out there and I feel like making a big deal out of BATB is a bit of a stretch in terms of "things to worry about our kids enjoying."
I'm not worried about Belle's Stockholm syndrome, but I do think the message of "a woman's love will transform a violent and scary beast into Prince Charming" is a *wee bit* troubling.
I mean, we'll still watch it, because, duh: #teamdisney. But I will have a light, low-key conversation afterwards with the kids about how everyone is responsible for their own behaviors and it's never a good idea to be with someone who is emotionally or physically violent.
I might be a Debbie downer and/or liberal snowflake.
I'm super thrilled about the introduction of Julia, the new puppet with autism...but I don't think this is unpopular. It's just awesome to weave inclusion into our kids' culture.
DH is really, seriously worried about other kids picking on J because she'll have the same name as a muppet. Which is ridiculous and an example of why we need more inclusion.

Another UO: with the exception of like, bars, I don't agree with outright child bans.
If someone (or someone's child) is causing a disturbance at a movie or a restaurant, ask them to leave, but honestly, I've had more movies ruined by people texting than anything else (and meals ruined by some self important jerk on a cell phone) and no one is making people check their cell phones at the door.

I'm generally one for proper manners, but thank you emails/handwritten notes following a first round interview absolutely annoy the crap out of me. Thank me when I interview you, but the kiss-ass part of the follow up thank you rubs be the wrong way. Thank me when I offer you the job, or pay for your lunch, or give you a raise, but not after an interview. #guessimagrinch

I don't see it as a kiss ass move. I see it as professional and hey don't forget about me because I am serious about this position! If that makes sense?

FFTC: I had the same concern as your H and my H told me I was being stupid.

I appreciate that you hate them, but every single career advice thing says to send them. Ugh.

I'm super annoyed that I have just completed a fourth interview and no one has sent a thank you.
Send me your address and I will send you the ones I have received. 😉 I can't even clearly articulate why I dislike them so much. I just do. Actually it's probably because I see so much generic language that they don't feel genuine. I mean, why yes I am such a pleasure to meet, and you should be honored to have been graced with my presence. 😝
I feel like I'm broken, but I can't even get it up over the new Beauty and the Beast. I love the original so much, and I really expected to be excited about this one, but I can't even muster up a single care to give.
