I've eaten a cold hot dog or two in my day - when I was younger - it tastes like bologna.

I just had this cycle of MS that was just hideous. I was starving but every time I tried to get food or look at a menu, I would get gaggy...I couldn't even think about going into a store that served food - that would have definitely induced vomit. Finally I rummaged up a cheese stick and a bag of popcorn and now I'm happy

Leftover Chipotle for lunch was not happening. I am le sad. Now I've moved on to yogurt. I survived on Greek yogurt during my first pregnancy. Looks like #2 is heading in the same direction. I'm going into work super late today, but I was not feeling so hot after my blood work this AM. My previous OB retired, so I have a new OB. Overall I like him and he didn't make me bleed from my pap. I also forgot how much I hate when they look for your ovaries on the trans-vaginal u/s. My right one is always evasive.

Holy actual balls. Just been chatting with my BFF, and our cousin in law, is getting married in November 2018, my BFF said that the couple are asking for people to pay for their own wedding meals. Ok, I get that, I'll be happy to do that.

Then she said it's £85 per person.



We will be skipping your wedding meal, sorry not sorry

Yep in the U.K.

In the U.K. it's becoming very common for people to actually pay for their own meal, but only if it's like £20 per person, and if it's buffet style.

Personally we didn't get our guests to pay for themselves, but we had a small meal purposely to keep down the cash.

beefinch yea that's too much ($106) to expect people to pay just to eat at your wedding, even if that's a thing where you live. I certainly wouldn't pay that OR I would, but you'd get no wedding gift from me. We spent about $125-135 per person TOTAL at our wedding (food, drink, venue cost, etc).

grumpycat88 we will just be going to their evening do now, as I think they are getting married around half an hour away from us. Not making that trip twice with a 3.5 year old and 1 yr old.

Or we will just go to the actual ceremony and not the evening, but you know, toddlers

I don't like chocolate chips/chunks in ice cream. They're too hard and cold and overpower everything else. I'll take all the nuts or dough type additions.

It's cute how I asked the jimmy johns people to cut my sandwich in half, like I wasn't going to eat the whole thing. Hahahaha! It was delicious though.

My H is best man in a wedding this summer and the groom made sure to let us know how much each plate costs so "we know how much to spend on the gift". I told H we may as well write a check and put "for our meal" in the memo 😠

In the U.K., paying for the guests drinks aren't a thing. Unless you are filthy rich. Anybody who has sense marrying into my DH's family wont have a tab bar, as they will drink you dry!

Wow. That's rude. Like I know that's generally what is expected in terms of gift but I feel like people don't take into account how much it costs to just be IN a wedding. DH is in a wedding and we are going to spend close to $800 just to attend, not including gift.

Just makes it quite awkward having to chase after the money.

That's personally why we chose a small wedding meal and to have a massive evening do, so nobody had to pay for anything... well apart from their drinks in the evening do, but that's a completely normal thing here.

I hear ya! It's going to be a very expensive wedding for DH to stand up in and for us to attend- it's in Chicago so the hotel room alone is almost $600 for two nights. It's DH's best friend and I want to splurge and get them a nice gift, but now I feel like no matter what we get them it's not going to be enough and he's just going to look at how much it costs.

I feel like he's very money-centric though. We got their invite just yesterday and we have to check what we want for the entree. DH texted him to ask what meal he recommended (since they did a tasting) and friend was like "well it all costs the same so it doesn't matter what you pick". Like, what? That has absolutely nothing to do with the question asked.
