I'm up with C--she was making the cutest little noises when I came in to get her. I love this age. B is still asleep and will hopefully stay that way awhile longer; he was exhausted last night.
Morning. I'm trying to decide what to do with my day. I have to stay home with n since she threw up yesterday, but she seems much better this morning. Not sure if I'll send h or just keep him home with us. If I send him, I could work from home. If I'm home with them both, I'll probably just take the whole day off.
One of my coworkers fell last night and broke her elbow and is all banged up so she won't be in which just leaves only one person there all day. She'll be fine on her own, I just feel bad not helping out.
Morning! I'm working from home so I can sneak out for a couple hours for Chase's post-op follow-up. I woke up with a popped ear and apparently AF came back after a week, so I'm feeling a bit blah. Not a bad day to be on the couch where I can't really bug anyone.
Per advise of one of you girls (can't remember who, sorry) I contacted medela customer support. They told me to send the pump back to where I ordered it, so that they can check it, this is not helpful! I can't not have my pump, what do they think I have it for! They wouldn't answer why there was such a huge price difference between parts in the us and Europe (more than double). So boo medela ☹️.
Not to mention shipping costs of actually sending your pump. Sheesh, I thought they'd be more helpful. I've never contacted them but have heard they are pretty good w customer service. Sorry lady. Did you tell them it was not feasible to send it back?
Josie asked to watch Peppa this morning, and I randomly put it on from YouTube. It's the episodes where they go on holiday to Italy. We watched half of it a few months ago, and I remember being upset that I never saw the conclusion of it. I'm seriously invested in what happens.
tgrimes1980 the doctor basically told us nothing we can do for biting except the special nail polish or little bandaids. Use aquaphor, vaseline, or carmex to moisturize them.
She's not biting them though. She's peeling them. She'll be watching a show or sitting in her car seat and do it.
V went through a similar phase (rubbing/pinching the skin on his neck although he also peels his nails sometimes too) we bought him some fidget toys and that helped a lot to redirect. We also keep his nails very, very short.

Dh does this... it might be helpful to give here a tactile ball of sorts which she can peel/pull at?
We have a box of fidgets for V, some are like this but he prefers the smaller ones. His favorites are pop tubes and he has a fidget that is a necklace which is genius and the most effective.

Can you link or post a pic of the necklace, please?

Morning!
I'm lounging in bed catching up on RHOBH and drinking my decaf coffee. I'm so happy to have a slow morning, but I need to get out and do some errands. My phone has been losing service for hours at a time since yesterday. I've done everything I can- turn it off multiple times, take the SIM card out, do hard resets, and reset the network settings. I get service back for a little bit then it goes out again. So frustrating. I'll be headed to ATT since the nearest Apple Store is a little over an hour away. If they can't do anything, I'll be on the phone with Apple later. Ugh....

tgrimes1980 as I was going through my emails last night, I got a lot of notifications for shipments. I looked at my husband and told him to expect a lot of packages this weekend. He was not as excited as I was. 😬
I got mine off of Amazon but they don't have it anymore They have a lot of similar necklaces though. I think the company is called Stimtastic. Search for fidget or chewy necklaces.

So what you're saying is there needs to be a company where other companies send all their packages, so they can then combine all your orders from different places into just one package for shipping to your home.

I only send packages to my work if it's a gift for mh or if I'll be out of town when it arrives and I don't want it sitting on my porch.
I usually get home before mh so it works out well that he doesn't see the packages. I mean really it's a visual thing- he doesn't see it as items we need or the good deals I found. He looks at the boxes and sees it as more money I've blown away, lol.

tgrimes1980, is she looking at her fingers when she is doing it or is she looking at other things and doing it subconsciously? I feel like you would need separate approaches depending on which it is.
Re: online shopping, we're just currently in the 'accumulation' stage of life, and having little kids means constantly updating wardrobes, etc. Or at least, that's how I rationalize it Feel free to use that explanation as needed.
This doesn't really explain the new dress and Jack Rogers I bought yesterday, so I fall back on 'but I'm helping the economy!'

She's not looking at her fingers. Sometimes when i tell her to stop, she'll put her hands behind her back or her feet under the covers to hide them while she does it.
Oh ok, then yeah, a fidget product would probably be best.
Sam picks at his toenail all the time. But he inherited MH weird toenails so they grow kind of funny. He does it especially at night when he is tired. I'll tell him to stop and he's like "But mom, I have a nail!"
So far he hasn't started doing it with his fingers.
mwhipple77, not sure if I missed it, but when do you plan on seeing YH to discuss? Also, did you cancel the birthday party? When is your actual birthday?

So very true, Liz.
And even on a serious note: as I try to go through items we don't use anymore, I find that for every 1 item I donate/throw away/sell, 5 more items take it's place!
Packages usually come when DH is at work, perks of being a SAHM.
I am really invested in April the giraffe right now. She's going to have that baby in the next few days I bet.
I feel like the whole April the Giraffe thing might be the worst (or best depending on how you look at it) April Fool's Day joke ever. Can you imagine?

trtlcrzy yes, our UPS and FedEx guys are very consistent, so I can get to my packages before my H gets home. He's never said anything about my shopping so I guess I haven't done anything TOO terrible yet.
Also, I cannot believe that poor giraffe is still pregnant.
Got B's haircut, dropped off C's quilt to have it embroidered, and picked up the drycleaning. By the time we got home both kids were asleep--I wish there were more errands I could run via drive-thru! I did get B successfully transferred to his bed to finish his nap, though, so I'm #winning.
