Rama - I have not been able to keep up with this board very well, and so I'm just seeing this and I know it's late but I'm just heartbroken for you and praying for you & your husband. Life is so sucky and unfair sometimes.
It did, thank you. Coming out of anaesthesia was pretty fun! ;)
Drugs are nice. The ones you get before they roll you in are pretty wicked too. Hope you enjoy a little time off and some R&R. You deserve it.
I declined the anti-anxiety meds and only took the nausea, Tylenol, and one more that I forget what it did. I wanted to stay as lucid as possible for as much as I could. I think my inherent sleepiness at that time and the anaesthesia together made for a pretty great nap. I didn't even twilight except for twice: once to shake my anaesthetist's hand in the OR maybe and once to accuse my recovery nurse of not introducing himself before the procedure (I was totes right). Then I just wholesale shook it off in approximately 7 minutes from being wheeled out of the OR to being lucid enough to eat/drink/have my mom come back. It was really great, despite the reason for being there at all.
