We're at a "come meet Max" little gathering. My MIL is holding Max. It's evening time so he's just kind of making noise, because that's what he does. Not crying, not even really upset, just making some noise.
MIL, over the course of about 30 seconds: "Did he just nurse? Does he need to eat? Has he burped? His bottom feels warm, does he need a new diaper? Oh, he's fine now."
I have an appt with a midwife in the morning since my OB is on spring break. Wonder if they'll do anything aside from the standard pee/BP/weight checks since I'm basically at 40 weeks. If I go past tomorrow then all of the pre-check-in paperwork I did at the hospital will be void since it will have been past 30 days.
I'm so thirsty, and need to pee, but baby girl is sleeping on my chest. I want to let her sleep as long as she can before the next feeding bc that helps the MOTN schedule. Ahh!

Early confession: I eventually learned how to pee while holding ds.
There's nothing like listening to your baby scream in your ear for a solid 30 minutes while you rock them. While also flailing and kicking and refusing to eat (yet rooting like a starving baby...)
She's passed out on my shoulder now and I won't be moving for the next few hours lol. I'm watching Futurama and H is playing WoW. I might pull up the Sims. Good times lol
cosmicav I'm totally crushing Unwind, so thanks for that recommendation! I have a feeling our newborn life is going to look like yours - me with a sleeping babe binge watching a show while H plays WoW. He's currently playing World of Tanks.
Home from the hospital! It's good to be here since I was going crazy stuck in one place but the reality of 2 kids is hitting hard haha. DS loves his sister so much and it is the sweetest thing I've ever seen except when she's crying and he starts losing it too because he doesn't like when she's sad. It breaks my heart. Planning to post a birth story in the next day or so once things settle a bit.

So.... COLIC IS FUN
:/
I am so sorry, colic sucks so bad. Hopefully it goes away early.
So any STM or those further out pp... how long until your perineum felt ok?? I'm 1.5 weeks pp and still really sore, especially when after being more active.
Just while sitting here I looked down and my shirt is soaked from BM. I didn't even realize what was happening :/
So our three year old girls made a visit to their new preschool yesterday. We love it and they love it so we are very happy.

I had a second degree tear, and I just started being able to sit without perineum pain this week... at 4 weeks :/ It's still a bit sore if I've been sitting for a long time, but it's so much better now. I remember it took about 3ish weeks with my first?
I think most people who have had a tear feel close to normal somewhere between 2-4+ weeks. Most people I knew felt better faster than I did, so hopefully you are in that camp. Perineal pain is the worst. :[

amacbaby did you tear? I had a second degree tear both times, and it took a few weeks (3-4?) to feel normal. I had stitches that needed to heal up, though.

Yep, also a second degree tear. I guess I am glad to know I am about half way there hopefully. By the end of the day I feel like I need a handful of ibuprofen and a support belt
amacbaby I had a second degree tear, and I'd say it was only 2.5 weeks for me. Hopefully, it will be closer to the 2 week mark for you, too. I found baths helped, in addition to all the stuff they did at the hospital.

You might be doing too much if you're that sore by the end of the day. I know it's not easy to do less with other kids to worry about, though.

Yeah I think your right that I'm doing too much. It's hard because I feel better than I did pregnant except for being sore
