I eat the heat up breakfast burritos from el Monterey. They're pretty good but I'm not sure if they have a shell with whole wheat. I would imagine you could make some on the weekend and freeze them.
That's a good idea. I hadn't thought of breakfast burritos. I definitely need something I can make and freeze because I never have extra time in the morning. I usually avoid pre-packaged breakfast stuff, because I'm allergic to soy. I just get sick of checking labels.
Whole wheat tortilla, eggs, cheese and bacon- it would keep you too full to crave.
JoBub have you always known you were allergic to soy or was this something you discovered doing W30's? Could you do a smear of jam on your whole grain bread/english muffins in the morning to satisfy that fruit/sweet craving?
I discovered it in my 20s when I did a Master Cleanse. I have always had terrible eczema, and it completely cleared up on the cleanse. I had a really hard time pinpointing it, so I went to the allergist and they identified it with a prick test. It's not a life-threatening allergy, I just get eczema if I eat it.
And probably no to the jam, but I should look and see if there are any that are made with artificial sweetener and that might be ok.
I think Smucker's makes some without any sugar/sweetner, it might be called something like SimplySmuckers or Just<insert fruit>

I think it's probably still not allowed just because of the fruit. But maybe a tiny bit. Really the only way to find out is to try it and see what happens. But I try to spread out the experimentation bc if I have too many high numbers in a short period of time my doctor will see it and want to put me on meds.
JoBub I'm reading that diabetics can have fruit for breakfast as long as it's with protein. It suggested a piece of fruit and almonds or fruit and cottage cheese. Or oatmeal and fruit. I'm guessing you've tried this and it's not worked for your blood sugar.

The morning is just the hardest to control. The woman who taught the class said 100% no fruit, no dairy, no cereal for breakfast or morning snack. I haven't experimented too much with it because I didn't have any test strips Mon/Tues, but I remember having to be really careful about breakfast last time I was pregnant too. I had eggs every day and got really sick of it. I can eat pretty much whatever I want for dinner, though, so I feel like I shouldn't complain. If all my readings are good today, I'll try some fruit or something for breakfast tomorrow and see what happens. But any time I get a high reading, I have to be really careful for a few days afterward because if the doctor sees any kind of trend like a particular time of day I'm not able to control, he'll probably put me on meds. It would also help if I did more physical activity, but again, the morning is the hardest time to make that happen because I'm in the car for 25 minutes right after breakfast.
Ugh, apparently I can't eat grapes for lunch. 2 days in a row now, I've had a turkey sandwich (on low calorie bread) and grapes, and my blood sugar was high after lunch. I was technically within my limit of 3 "carb choices" but it's like the bread was one, and then the grapes were a double serving. And it didn't work. I guess tomorrow I'll have potato chips instead. Doesn't seem right.

I was diagnosed with an SI. Was prescribed azithromycin in conjunction with Sudafed. Was told Sudafed is Class C and not rec. for pregnancy, but they wanted me to have it for a few days to get this SI outta my system.
Was also surprised with the GD test. With babe, they sent me elsewhere for the test, so I wasn't expecting it today. Will get a call if I failed.

Hope the drugs kick in soon. I'm sure a few days of Sudafed is NBD.

I'm feeling better already, but I dunno if it's the abx, the Sudafed, or the Tylenol re - up. But much better already.

Glad the meds are helping you. I took a decongestant while ku. In fact I was so sick the night before my rcs, I took a decongestant and I failed the drug screen when they did the blood work! Someone was supposed to consult with me like I was a freaking drug addict, I told the nurses all the meds I had taken. No one ever came to consult, baby's bloodwork came back clean. So I guess I'm trying to say don't take before your due date if you don't want it to show up on bloodwork and you'll look like a drug addict lol.

I will attest first hand that it happens and it fucking sucks. I failed with DS1 and we were put on a child protective services hold for 3days. He went through drug withdrawal testing every couple hours. They sent off every dirty diaper for testing. We were interviewed by a social worker multiple times. I was advised not to breastfeed. Ended up getting a patients rights advocate to intervene on our behalf. They were so awful to me. I burst a blood vessel in my eye was crying so hard. And we had a social worker house visit once we got home. No joke.
Moral of the story......Don't eat mass quantities of Waldorf Chicken Salad from Fresh Market. First off, they have poppy seeds, yeah I spaced on that choice of food. I thought it was pepper flakes. 😐Poppy seeds trigger false positive for opioids which is kinda common knowledge, but if you eat enough they trigger for morphine. The doctors are apparently very unforgiving for morphine positives and do not accept explanation that it was from chicken salad. They really wanted to know where I got my morphine since it isn't a common street drug.
It was still in my chart when I delivered DS2. To say I went fucking psycho for a moment when the nurse mentioned it is an understatement. The doula had to hold me back, I decided I was going to leave 😂, while DH dealt with that.
You all should be good. I took one for a team here, what are the chances of someone else going through that? 😜
So what was their explanation for continuing to test and never getting a positive? Did they ever say "oops" or it must have been a mistake? This sounds so awful. I think I would have been fighting people out of anger- which would have led to more suspicion.

No explanation. I'm sure it was because I failed the first test and then the second retest. The retest supposedly weeds out false positives. So once they had those results they DGAF. And trust me, all we wanted to do was fight, but like you said there's the fear of suspicion.

bazingaa wow that's crazy that you had to go through all that. The nurse had told me someone would come talk to me and I'm surprised no one did, that I can remember lol. Anyway I was so embarrassed and kept telling them it was the meds and I was so obviously sick. I barely had a voice and constantly coughing so it was clear I was telling the truth. But I can't believe they put you through all of that bc of poppy seeds, what a story!

OMG, bazingaa, that sounds so awful. I can't imagine a FTM having to deal with that (any innocent mom - but I imagine it's extra hard with your first). I was specifically told to mention my headache medication at L & D intake because it tests positive for I think opioid as well. I gave them the name plus, I use the hospitals OB, so it was already in my chart regardless. They never once mentioned anything after that.

Also, bazingaa - I'm really curious how much poppy seeds one must ingest to test positive? Or is it that you ate it right before labor? Just, I can't believe how far they took it.
Oh my goodness! I've heard a couple of stories like that. Apparently there's an inhaler than can trigger false positives as well. I heard a mom with asthma had some huge ordeal from that despite well-documented, life-long asthma meds.

Well, it was kinda my craving that week. I ate like.... 3lbs of chicken salad in the days leading up to delivery. So, a lot. Hahaha
