My day already started with a big pile of FU, Blue! How's your week wrapping up?
And how is it only Thursday?
GTKY: What's your birth order (oldest middle youngest only) and what are some of the stereotypes about it that you agree or disagree with for yourself?
bluefairy5 sorry the day started with a poop sandwich.
I'm at the office for the first time in almost a week. Whoops.... I intentionally went easy on the makeup today, so I look as pale as I feel. Can't go in looking well-rested, no way Jose.
GTKY: Oldest. I'm pretty sure most of stereotypes fit, except my sister bosses me around sometimes. She's the only one, though.
DH's car broke down this morning, so I'm waiting to find out whether or not I need to pick him up. Typical Thursday work day here. Looking forward to Saturday with my girl. I fly out to CA on Sunday and will be gone for at least a week, so I need to stock up on snuggles while I can.
I'm an only. My parents had a lot of time and attention for me, which was both good and bad. There are times I wish I had a sibling, especially now as my parents are getting older and I see the close relationships some of my friends have with their siblings. My mom came from a big family and made sure I didn't grow up as the spoiled only child, so I typically hate that stereotype.
DH and I are both 38 TTC since Feb 2013 Diagnoses: PCOS ("lean"/non-IR), borderline hypothyroid, hyperprolactinoma 6 TI/IUI cycles in 2014 (2 Clomid, 4 Femara) - 1 cancelled, 5 BFN IVF #1: March 2015 - 22R/12F. 7 frosties FET #1: May 2015

Hi ladies! I'm at work and it's rainy. Would much rather be at home with our girl, especially since she is really starting to laugh a lot and it's SO MUCH fun!
QOTW: I'm the youngest. Not sure about the stereotypes, I was/am definitely more introverted than my older sister. She was super bossy but I tend to be more logical than her, so it was kind of a weird balance...
Amelia, we can't decide if we want to TFAS in the future or not. Your GTKY makes me think we should probably go for #2. We'll see.
I had a meeting cancelled today so my morning is low key and I can play on here. M woke up at 5am and was not ready to be up but couldn't go back to sleep. She was a nit of a toddler terror until I dropped her at daycare.
QOTW: I am sort of middle and oldest. I have an older half sister but we didn't grow up in the same house. I am my mom's oldest. I would say a lot of the oldest stereotypes apply in general.
Im headed up to MA with baby to visit my dad who had surgery yesterday to relieve some swelling around his brain. Once they got in, they found he also had regrowth of the previous tumor they removed, so they took it out again. It was smaller, but it still looks like the radiation/chemo just slowed it and not stopped it. ☹️
Annndd, they're forecasting up to a foot or more of snow up there, so may or may not make my flight back.

mrswillie Just wanted to send a hug. I am sorry your Dad's tumor came back. I have been in a similar place with my Dad and my Aunt and it is so hard. More hugs.

Of course you never know how that will turn out, my brother and I are not close at all. We're just super different people. I actually worry that we'll lose touch after my dad is gone.
firstbbq, she's only 3 months old! There's something about knowing whether we want to try again that seems important right now (it's weird!). Like I need to know for sure if she's my only baby so I'll slow down even more and just enjoy her - which I should do anyway! Of course there's no telling if any of our remaining embryos would actually make more babies...
ampaints, the grass is always greener on the other side, right?! My sister and I are not close but I'm envious of people that have those good relationships.
This is my first full day of work this week, and I am pathetically dragging. I have zero work to do, aside from a terrible project I volunteered myself for. At least I have caffeine.
GTKY: I was an only for a long time, then I got a sister. I have both the attributes of an only child and an oldest sibling, I think. I got along with adults better than kids, but was also kind of clueless about what to do at the various stages of adolescence. I always wished for an older brother or sister to show me the ropes!
It's been a day! If anyone knows how to fix a dishwasher drain please chime in. Ds1 dislocated his shoulder 2x today and had to be taken to the pedi which now means we are headed to Children's BC he injured a ligament. My sister blew up something in the microwave so hello ADT 4x the house wreaks.

I don't have much in the way of Randoms today, but I wanted to chime in on QOTW. I am a middle child. My personality is a combo of first and middle child. I am the leader/caretaker of my siblings like an older child, but I also have the under unappreciated/forgotten mentality of the middle child.
Me: 32, PCOS Him: 30, 4.5% morph, TTC: 10/11/12 After 5 failed Clomid cycles and 3 failed Femara cycles with HCG triggers, IVF #1 w/ICSI April 2015 resulted in a BFP! Our little Newt was born January 2016!
Good morning! I hope everyone is having a nice Friday!
mrswillie Wishing your dad a full & speedy recovery.
It's gross and rainy out today.
We found a temporary babysitter/helper! She is looking for a full-time job so once she finds one she will leave us, so we'll keep searching... But for now we have affordable childcare.
QOTW: I am the middle of 3 sisters. We are quite close. We all fit our stereotypical roles perfectly.

Amelia I feel the same way being an only as my parents age. It's the one thing that really sticks in my brain when I think about being OAD. Not so much about "who will help me when they get ill," but more so, "once they're both gone... no one but me will remember *so* much about my life." It's an odd thought. (Cc Winnifred) Not that siblings are a guarantee later in life, in a variety of ways.
mrswillie I'm so sorry about the news from your dad's surgery. Sending major hugs. I'm glad you're able to be up there right now. The weather is crap today, so I hope you made your flight back.
firstbbq Actual LOL at your wine story ending in "I'm the worst." You are not the worst.
Didn't actually mean to PNR yesterday, but, woof, this week. (You may have inferred from the OP.)
GTKY: I'm an only and I fit some stereotypes in terms of relating well to adults and enjoying doing things on my own (movies, dinner, what have you). But I've always taken issue with the stereotypes about only children thinking they're the center of the world, being spoiled, etc.
