GTFO Friday. It's cold and raining, I have a flat tire, my doctor's office isn't answering their phone, and I'm not at all ready to have 20 people at my house tomorrow.
macaronmama, I would say TGIF but it doesn't sound like you're looking forward to your weekend. I hope your day only gets better from here and everything goes smoothly and you enjoy your weekend.
Our oven caught on fire because I haven't cleaned it since we bought it (3ish years ago). That's my FFFC. The fire smothered when I put it out and I cleaned it- so no harm luckily.
I tricked my husband into cleaning out the fridge last night. I made an offhanded comment that I thought a milk spill was making it smell. He proceeded to clean all the shelves! No smell this morning he got whatever was making it smell.
Bummer to weekend stress macaronmama:( Yikes to your fire becole Just house chores this morning. My brother flew in last night for dd1s family party so I'll see him for lunch. DD2 had only one wake up and ate last night. I luckily slept well too. A couple more of those and I could feel almost normal again!
DH brought DS2 into our room at 5:30 this morning to nurse and told me they had been sleeping on the couch for 3.5 hours. I'm not complaining if he wants to sleep with the baby on the couch so I can sleep through the night. They need bonding time too:)

I'm really happy it's Friday. I need some real rest.
My commute was not the shitshow I had anticipated this morning, but I think a ton of people must have taken the day off - and the main school district I drive through (and DH teaches for) is off today and all next week for spring break, which helped.
However - I pay to use the toll lane so I can shorten my commute and they have it changed right now to HOV 3+ people only. If they keep it like that....I am totally screwed. This whole bridge collapse is a total traffic nightmare. My commute going home won't be affected but getting to work could be a major problem. I heard today that 3 months to fix it all is best case scenario.

I'm so sorry! Any working from home exceptions during this period?

becole I'm not sure. I will be asking if it is just crazy awful. Today, the toll/HOV thing was only until 10am. So if they won't let me work from home, they will have to deal with me coming in at 10. I refuse to sit for hours every morning.
@kitchen if they change it, it will be temporary but could be certain times of the day/week, and for right now there are no car exceptions - it's all based on carpooling. I just don't understand the thinking behind it...I understand the traffic nightmare we will be facing for quite a while but this doesn't seem like the solution.
I think my MIL cleaned my oven recently. I love when they visit.
Today is my Mom's birthday. I had one crying fit in my office when the Facebook notification popped up but I actually feel a lot better after that. I've got to remember just to let myself feel the sadness sometimes.
Pretty slow day at work so far. My three year old had one of her worst mornings ever. I have never seen so many tantrums in a row-it was at the point that you couldn't even be mad anymore. I'm pretty glad to be at work today.

DH set our grill on fire last week and asked me what he should do. Sursly dude? First, turn the gas off, still on fire, 2 ft flames. Remove the full gas tank, pull the grill away from the deck railing. Then he comes into the house and starts filling a glass with water!!! GREASE FIRE DUDE!!! He looks at me like I'm crazy when I hand him the box of baking soda. Then looks at me like I'm a goddess when he saw how quickly the baking soda put the fire out. He asks how I knew what to do. Well, besides common sense, my entire career revolves around 30 school kitchens. Its a job requirement.

I keep a box of baking soda on the counter for this reason. DH kept putting it away so I had to explain its purpose.

We had a better night last night. G fell asleep with me before 9 and did not wake up until 8. Unfortunately, he has been a grump for MH since he woke up. MH thinks it's teeth; he has white spots on both gums, so I'm wondering if he's working on all 4 front teeth. I just hope he naps today. N came in at 5:20, but laid quietly until I got out of bed a little after 6. It's rainy and cold today, which is not helping our moods.
My appointment with the oral surgeon went well. My wisdom teeth are coming out on the 20th, so at least it will be after Easter. MH is supposed to work on the 21st, but he is going to take the day, and I have to switch the boys' day care schedule to go Thursday instead of Friday. It was nice to be home early. We took a walk after N woke up from his nap, and G sat in the stroller without the car seat for the first time. He loved it.

macaronmama, I hope your day gets better. What a terrible way to start the weekend. becole, we cleaned ours last year for the first time in a long time. I can't be in the house when the self-clean is on because the fumes make me sick. I think MH just cleaned it himself last time. That is scary though, and I'm glad you got it under control quickly. erien22846, props to YH for cleaning the fridge and taking the baby overnight so you could sleep! ksyknelvr73, I also saw the video of the fire. That is crazy. I'm sorry for all of the added stress with your commute. Hugs, fem. I've definitely laughed sometimes at the tantrums, because if I didn't, I cried. jillian, that is one of the reasons I leave the grilling to MH. That, and he knows how to put fires out because he's a firefighter. I'm glad you were able to get the grill fire out.
Glad to know I'm not the only slacker in oven cleaning but yes folks- clean your oven! I just used dawn dish soap and it wasn't even that labor intensive. Not as bad as I thought.
FFFC I've never cleaned my oven. And it's like a million years old🙈 ksyknelvr73 hopefully your commute can get back on track soon. That sounds awful. macaronmama sorry about the weekend stress! fem sending you so many hugs💕
DD had her 6m appointment today. 14lbs 12oz (23%), 25.76" (43%), and 43cm head circ (73%). Got three vaccines and the oral vaccine all of which she was pissed about. Now she is conked out in her car seat. I had dropped my sister and DS off at the trampoline park before the appointment so he could burn off some energy. It's literally the best $10 spend ever.

fem hugs for a hard day today. It's a significant day, so don't try to fight the tears if you need to cry. Anyone would understand. I hope that things are better this evening after work with regards to toddler shenanigans. Today is not a day that you need anything like this.

This just reminded me I need to see when our appointment is, she was 6 months yesterday. I know I scheduled it... I hope the only vaccine side affect for you is drowsiness.
Also a trampoline park opened near us, we still need to try it out.

They probably changed it so any busses that run along that route can still get through?
I know that had something to do with it, but I find it odd because we are not really a transit city....at all. We have SOME buses but it's not really a thing here, hence why our traffic is so awful all the time. The lane, before it was a toll lane, used to be HOV 2+ people. I thought the 3+ was especially odd today.
Best way to thoroughly clean your oven- sprinkle baking soda. Then spray with a dawn/vinegar/water solution until it foams/bubbles. Let it sit overnight and all you have to do is wipe it off. No scrubbing, it's like magic.
Also use Dawn/baking soda/hydrogen peroxide for laundry stains. (Just rinse off after you let it sit if you use a lot - my MIL tried it and overflowed her washer with bubble from the Dawn).
Good luck with sleep training @holachica! Keep us posted with orogress. How is ds? And what method are you doing? If you dont mind sharing obviously. Ours was kind of a fail, so im curious. And are you going for sttn or just less wake ups?
Thinking of you fem. @holachica, I'm also very curious about progress, method, etc.
I've been running around all morning putting fires out and have literally accomplished nothing on my to-do list. I need a solid 20 hours in my office without interruptions to catch-up on everything. And that will never happen.
According to daycare, DS has been very fussy in the afternoons. He was fussy yesterday evening so I have him some Tylenol since I think its teething related. He slept from 7:30pm - 1:30 am, up to briefly nurse and back bed until 5:30 when I nursed him again and laid him down while I showered. He's always up at 12:30 am so he slept an extra hour and was only up once after that - such a win. So of course, DD woke up at 2:30 and came into our bedroom. WILL BOTH KIDS EVER LET ME SLEEP?
Anyone else's kiddo mobile? It happened so gradually I almost didn't think anything of it then she "crawled" over to a toy several feet away and it hit me that I have a "crawler". Granted she is only doing the army crawl but she is already trying to get up on her knees. When did this happen?!

Mine turns in a circle and can scoot backwards so far. I'm not ready for it!
