H worked Wednesday this week so he had Friday off instead. I'm so excited for a long weekend. Also we're supposed to go to a bonefire/dinner Saturday, I'm excited for s'mores.
FFFC I have never/will never be able to stand Zooey Deschanel. I love her sister in Bones but I think Zooey is a terrible actress who relies heavily on quirkiness to get her by.

ohinvrtedworld I've never seen 500 Days of Summer, mostly because she is in it. I may need to watch it. A lot of people have recommended that.
runner17 I love marshmallows so much, but I can definitely see why someone wouldn't. They have a strange texture. It's better when melted but it's definitely strange.

scoutradley, what about in Elf? She was so cute! Also, have you heard her music (She & Him)? Love it.
Nothing here, DS is getting a cold and he's super grumpy, it's raining, and I hope H comes home early. That's all I got! Oh, and staring at my chart every 5 minutes hoping it will tell me something.

I slept in late, had super weird dreams. Just thinking about supper, and getting excited for going to the sugar shack this weekend. Endless pancakes, mmmm

scoutradley, I have the same feelings about Zoey... I can't stand Elf (probably an UO, but I loathe Will Ferrell), and I never got into New Girl. I can tolerate She and Him on a Christmas playlist but that's about it. runner17, DH is the same about marshmallows, I say that just leaves more for me. mflowers929, I grew up in a maple area as well and definitely miss the pancake breakfasts from childhood.
AFM--Major FFCF here: We went to a gender reveal for DH's brother last night and they're having a boy. That's great for them, except here they are having grandchild #2 while we're still trying for #1 and now they have both sexes (our niece is 2.5 yrs old). I know its horrible, but I feel like it won't be special when/if we GKU because there's really nothing new.

charliefox like leekpartyof2 I can't stand Elf. I also can't stand Will Ferrell. His type of comedy is just NMS and generally makes me roll my eyes.
leekpartyof2 I sort of understand feeling that way. I didn't feel quite that way with DS1 as he was the first grandchild/great-grandchild on my side, although he was the second grandson on H's side. But with DS2 he was the 2nd and 3rd grandson/great-grandson. MIL regularly referred to him as a girl until we announced he was a boy and then she was visibly upset. She only visited him twice after he was born despite working in the neighborhood we lived in, did not come to the birth center for the birth like she did the first two, had referred to my oldest as her favorite and even reminded me that she had bought two baby dresses before we knew his sex that she still wanted to use (like I can help whether we ever have a girl). Anyway, all that was to say, I can see how you'd be worried that your future child won't be a special. But the upside is that my mother has never treated my boys that way and your family probably won't either. They'll just be happy you are getting your baby finally!!

Thanks, scoutradley! I know it's pretty ridiculous. We are still likely to be the first grandchild on my side, but I'm going through some weirdness with them and they're far away, so DH's family is more in our daily life. My guess is that #2 will be it for BIL/SIL, and we're pretty firmly OAD (if we get KU) so it's not like our future child would be lost in a sea of other (or same) sexed cousins. When they announced, I really wanted them to have another girl, so at least we'd have one 'special' thing going for us.
scoutradley, Enjoy your long weekend! The best part of a bonfire is the s'mores.
leekpartyof2, I'm glad I'm not the only one that doesn't like Will Ferrell. I always get weird looks when I say that. On a more serious note, I'm sorry you are feeling that way. I don't know if the opinion of a stranger means anything to you, but your baby will be just as special.
We are cleaning our carpets this weekend. I also want to finish watching Fantastic Beasts. We started it last night, but I ended up falling asleep half way into it.

I'm alarmed that you guys don't like Elf. Elf is truly the best IMO.
Zooey on the other hand was just horrendous in the last interview I heard of her, so now I can't stand her. I will still totally watch 500 days though because I love movies about love.
My confession is that I basically AM Elf, so I am worried I won't fit in here. Smilings my favorite!!!!!!!!!
I think Will Farrell is usually better in cameos like in wedding crashers. Maybe because of the part, maybe because I don't have to put up with him for a whole movie.

I'm excited about all the smores talk, obvi. Haters gonna hate. Elf and smores are both amazing. I may need to eat some smores while watching Elf now to balance the universe from your wrongness, haha.
I am currently drinking a glass of wine, pre-toddler bedtime. MH had to work late tonight so I'll probably be solo until she's asleep. Then I will be working on the rest of that bottle.

mflowers929 - What is the Sugar Shack?! It sounds like somewhere I need in my life!
scoutradley - I'm jealous of your Saturday plans. Bonfires on the beach are my favorite in the summer. With smores, an adult beverage, and a blankie of course!

leekpartyof2 - Your FFFC is not at all flame worthy. Its definitely hard to watch others celebrating something you want so badly yourself, even if it is someone you love and are happy for at the same time. I'm sorry you're feeling down about it. I am, however, certain that your future baby will be just as special, loved, and celebrated.

leekpartyof2 I understand what you're saying. My big fear is everyone using my favorite baby names before I can use even one. I want to use my grandma's name and I'm always nervous that one of my SILs won't know that its sentimental and steal it. I'd lose it.
smores, a sugar shack (sugar bush, sugar house) is a group of cabins where the sap that's collected from the maple sugar tree is boiled into maple syrup ^^ We've got lots around here, and there's a few of them that do pancake breakfast. Beans, sausage, and all you can eat pancakes with, of course, their own fresh maple syrup! You can also usually get maple taffy on snow (maple syrup that's been boiled down further than the syrup point, which is spread on a layer of snow to cool and then you pick it up with a popsicle stick). My favorite, though, is the maple syrup cones. They've got taffy on the bottom, and maple butter on the top ^^ It'll be fun this year because we've got a little group going, including one of our friends who is here for a visit from Calgary.
alwayscheese, you picked a good time to tune in! They say she's due literally any hour now =) They actually said yesterday that they expected the baby within 24 hours, but obviously April had to wait for April to come XD

That sugar shack sounds like a place I should visit. I love all things maple! When you first mentioned it, I just thought it was a fancy Ihop.

mflowers929 - I have never heard of that and now I'm sad that I am no where near one. All of that sounds amazing. I hope you have a wonderful time (how could you not with all that deliciousness)!

If you guys ever find yourselves in the northern states (particularly Maine) or in Canada (from Ontario east through Nova Scotia) at the end of March /beginning of April, you definitely need to check it out. There's nothing quite like fresh maple syrup, and it's my favorite "it's getting warmer!" sign because it needs to be above freezing during the day for the sap to flow ^^
