HeyMrsPotter , I sobbed through my first drop-off, so I don't have many wise words of advice. But, I did do my first drop-off on a day that I didn't actually have to work, so it was nice to be at home and get all my tears out privately. So, to the extent that you have any flexibility, I'd suggest not immediately going to work, or wherever that first day.
Thanks for this suggestion. We've agreed H will drop them off for the next few days when I have meetings/conferences to attend. I'll try dropping them off sometime next week when I don't have to go to work. So I can sob freely.
Same here. I dropped off when home and cried while pumping. I also built up. 1/2 day then a full day then actual work. Hugs...it will suck but it does get better. It will always kind of suck or at least does for me. It helped me to have them send me pics sporadically thru the day.
Question:. Z seems to be on a bottle strike. She'll take all the solids, but I'd refusing most bottles or only drinking an ounce of to at a time. How long do I let this go on before I get worried?

We aren't on solids yet, but mine have been eating a lot less formula since they have been sick. The Pedi said to be alarmed if they didn't have regular wet/poop diapers.
Thanks, @feegan, and requiressnacks. She decided she was hungry yesterday and ate fairly well. Either she finally has teeth coming in (W has 4 with 4 more visible!) or she picked up a bug and just didn't feel well. We're also going to try bigger nipples tomorrow.
Do bigger nipples make it easier? How has everyone been switching nipple size?
We switched to level 2 nipples a couple weeks ago. It drastically improved how long it takes H to eat. E tends to dribble a lot more with the #2 tho. As long as they don't choke or gag on the faster nipple then you are good to move up a size.
@wineandcupcakes, We switched to size 2 when they were about 2.5 months old, right before W had his tongue tie clipped. He was struggling to get enough and it helped speed up feeds. We moved back to 1s after he was clipped. They were on 2s full time by 3.5 months. Now they're 6.5 months and I'm hoping they'll stay on task a little better and might eat a little better at DC.

That reminds me. When we started the switch to 2s, Z would get choked a lot. There for a while, we were using 2s for W and 1s for Z.

I keep a couple of 1s in our basket in the living room. So when E starts losing more of the bottle than she's swallowing I can switch mid feed. H is on 2s full time.

I don't know if the brand matters, but we use Dr Browns and I moved up to 2's around 3 months. Otherwise the flow was way too fast for my littles and they either choked on the formula or it spilled everywhere.
We didn't switch to medium flow nipples (Medela) until closer to 5.5/6 months. G switched first because he started getting frustrated with bottles, and the medium flow made a huge difference. For sake of ease, we tried to get L to take medium flow then as well and she flat out refused. So for about a month more she was on slow flow still until she started getting frustrated at about 6.5 months, so then we moved her up. My kids were also big spitters, so that's part of why we wanted them to stay on slow flow longer to try to pace them and minimize spit-up.
I go up a nipple size when the baby collapses the nipple while drinking or to test if a faster flow will decrease mealtime. As long as the baby isn't gagging on the formula I'll keep the higher flow nipple. M leaks all over no matter what nipple flow I use.
