I'm picking up dd1s cake. I just stopped and got a coffee and a breakfast sandwich and I'm eating it in the car. Alone. I was getting so frustrated trying to clean and cook while the baby was fussy and the toddler was needy. Dh wad home and doing the same. It just wasnt working. I figure if I'm not gonna get everything accomplished, I might as well take a break. Life is so different now.
Picking a paint color for your house is HARD. I went to Sherwin-Williams yesterday and picked up some paint chips and now I'm really conflicted. I'm not sure I like the Granite Peak as much in person, but it's so hard to imagine how your entire house would look painted a color that you're looking at on a tiny paint chip. One of the paint colors I really like is called Smoky Blue. I was googling, trying to find pictures of houses painted these colors and I happened to find this blog. The writer was trying to decide on a paint color for her house and those two colors were two of her choices and she has pictures on her blog of them. I'm bummed she didn't end up going with either one of them, but you can see what they look like on an actual portion of a house.
After all the talk of cleaning ovens, I decided to tackle mine. Full disclosure (FFSC?) I have never cleaned mine. The house we live in is my grandmother's old house, and the oven is ancient. It had YEARS of caked on crap in it, and I just never had the motivation to clean it. It's still not perfect, but it is a 1000x better.
Now that I'm doing the color visualizer thing on the SW website again, I'm back to being completely torn. I love them both. I love blue and I love gray.

jwinct I like both but am leaning toward the blue. Either one is a solid choice though.
We went furniture shopping and bought a new dining room set. I am so excited about it. We should have it in 1-4 weeks. It would be great if we had it by Easter. N had fun exploring, and G had fun looking around and smiling at the salespeople. We're on our way home, and both boys are asleep. Meal planning and grocery shopping is on my agenda this afternoon.
Okay, so I'm 99% sure we are going with the blue. The granite has a purple tint when the sun hits it. I carried the paint chips all around the outside of the house and then bought them to my parents' house and my SIL even said the granite looks purple and I didn't even mention it. No thanks!
DS has been conquering asparagus and pear this weekend. Asparagus is easy because it's easy for him to hold.
He also learned how to sit up. It feels like all of the sudden we have another kid instead of two kids and a blob.
Ooh, I have asparagus in my fridge. Maybe I'll cook it tonight and see if DS likes it.
DS is getting good at sitting up, but he ends up toppling over after a bit. The pedi said on Friday it might take him a bit longer to balance because of his big head. LOL

+1 to feeling like LO is an actual person and not just a blob. DS2 is sitting up on his own and very clearly wants things: a toy that's out of reach, to move closer to DS2, etc. and gets frustrated when he can't accomplish it. He can sit unsupported for several minutes at a time, but not reliably. Sometimes he gets distracted and topples over after just a few seconds. I'm really looking forward to when he can reliably sit up so I can plop him sitting on the ground when I need to do things like open the stroller, put on DS1's coat, etc.
