We've been having a lazy day. I'm doing everything I can to try to get dd to nap, but so far she's fighting. Usually by now she's be going down for her second nap, but she skipped her first and is still fighting. Ugh. Hopefully she sleeps soon.
DD spent the night at my parents' because DH and I had a date night and she's been an absolute beast so far this weekend. She goes from being super clingy to making messes and being defiant, then saying sorry and being clingy again. I think it's from starting school, but I guess the sleepover didn't really help. It's exhausting.
In other news I am applying for two jobs as a teacher to see if I can continue towards my license in a work/study program, rather than studying with a side job. I feel I need more practical training than my current schedule allows for. Nervous and excited.

I recommend as much hands-on training as you can get @dutchkatie! I learned so much more in the field as I worked with children. If you have any questions or want to pick my brain I'd be happy to help.
We did Panda Express for lunch and I think dd was having texture issues with the chow mein. She would eat it if it all got in her mouth, which was near impossible, but if any of it touched her lips or was sticking out of her mouth she just pulled it all out where usually she shoves food back in.

We had a super busy day even though we opted to not do an indoor playground that I mentioned. Went to the Home Depot kids workshop. They did a cute Easter parade around the store, gave out some goodies, & the Easter Bunny was there so Ds got a pic with him. It was such a really nice set up where he was sitting, I was impressed. Afterwards we swung by target & Joann's in search of a light up egg window decoration to replace ours that we've had for years that just completely Burned out but no such luck, I don't think they make things like that anymore. :/ We then headed to the library by there for a while, had lunch at BK, & went to a different library for a Berenstain Bears event. DS made a mask, they had some coloring activities, & a really complicated treehouse craft that turned into parents just doing majority of it. Lol I don't think they thought that one through so while Dh did that, ds was playing in this little sandbox thing they had set up on a table. It was a cute timewaster of an event pretty much.

I'm so tired. Ever since we got home, we've just been moseying around. Deciding on dinner took forever & a day probably because our town is so small so quick food options are kinda limited & not in the mood to drive anymore. DH ran out to get ground beef so we're doing tacos. I'm sure ds will whine about it. Oh well.

So much fun today! I love my nephew and niece 💜 Being an aunt has been awesome. I'm glad that I've stayed close with them- I wouldn't have thought we would after late-SO passed, but we are still so close.
SO and I are going out for a few tonight. DS is with my mom and I'll join them in the morning as I work my retail job out her way tomorrow.
I've been waking up for the day at 4 and it's beginning to annoy me.
I ordered dd's birthday invites last night. I can't believe it's so soon! Now I just need to go shopping for a cute outfit or something, which is totally not my thing. I've actually never been clothes shopping for her yet. I couldn't bring myself to do it before she was born alive, relied on my sister to do it for me, then MIL visited and went crazy, and I got some hand me downs from my sister that have lasted us until now. Though she pretty much lives in footy pajamas because she only has like two outfits in her size. And only long sleeves. I really need to go shopping before it gets too warm.
Sorry your DD is acting like that @dutchkatie . I feel your pain. Good luck with the jobs! That sounds like a good plan.
Thankfully she had a good night's sleep and is being better today. I also made a point of having some together time this morning, and now she's playing pretty independently for a while. So, that's good.

Dh's grandma passed in her sleep early this morning. She was doing better for a while but I guess it was just her time. She was on an up & down cycle for months so I think she's at peace. Yesterday was also her late husband's birthday.

Dh's dad has been a mess from what we've heard (he's actually an only child) but I guess he's got it together enough to start the arrangement process. He called to ask input about when we can make it out but apparently her priest has limited availability so I think it's gonna be Sunday/Monday which seems late to me but at least it's not our doing. DH's job gives him 2 days for it so it's nice we have an extra day for travel time back home.
