DD can stand unassisted and took 1 or 2 steps on a couple occasions. But she's much happier holding onto things while she "walks" It's funny to me. DD1 never pulled up on things or cruised. She just stood on her own and walked. I'm not used to this level of caution
Has anyone taken their first steps yet? I think Andrea mentioned movement recently but anyone else?
Owen has been standing unsupported and has taken 3-5 steps at the most. He took a big tumble last week and hasn't done it since 😂 What happened to our babies???
Nope! Not even crawling yet - although for not crawling she manages to wiggle, scoot, and roll around quite a bit! According to our moms, DH and I both waited until like 15 months to walk, so I think DD will follow in our (non)footsteps
mladerri, 13.5 months isn't late! I'm thinking more like 15-18 month range as "late". Technically, anywhere from 10-18 months is considered typical.
poof Agree with 15-18 months as late, adamantly disagree that 10-18 is typical; would say 9-14. 16+ is definitely delayed, what *is* in question is whether there's necessarily an underlying motor impairment. poof
Nope! He will walk a little with the walker and cruise a little but no walking on his own yet. He does get brave and reaches for the next object to step towards and usually misses and falls.
ArgyleEnigma, I totally thought you were saying you got your phD in toddler walking in jest...lol. So interesting! What do you do now? My masters is in developmental psych...
ArgyleEnigma , That is really interesting. I brought up the fact that DH and I were late walkers (15 mos) to our pediatrician at DD's 9 month appointment and she told me that wasn't late, that it was in the normal range. At the time though they kept telling my mom that it was very late! Both DH and I are fantastic walkers now, so hopefully if DD walks late it will be ok

We're in the same boat. She's not crawling but is a great breakdancer.
DD is 9.5 months, no walking or crawling yet. She can kind of scoot around on her bum or belly, but doesn't seem too motivated to actually take off. She can stand with support, but doesn't pull herself up on things yet.
Seems like she'll be pretty average, or on the slower end of things when it comes to mobility. I think the only thing that she's truly advanced at is getting teeth (and being cute)! lol
