Toddler has a cold with a croup sounding cough so hopefully he keeps it to himself and gets over it quickly. I have to call the general surgeon that has handled my last two cysts today. I really don't think there's anything he can do but supposed to and I've met my deductible and max OOP so why not see all the doctors this year?
erinshelley21 if you met your deductibles and OOP then I say go for it. I'm sorry you're still dealing with the pain of the cyst on top of a sick toddler Can they drain the cyst?

The dr I saw Friday thinks I caught it too early to drain enough for it to be worth it.
DD was up a lot last night. It seemed like unless it was totally silent, she'd wake up. Which is a new and unwelcome development. She's asleep now and I should take a nap, then we need to hit up the grocery store and a super quick trip to Lowe's. I might not get both though. Especially since I also want coffee.
moutonrouge get thee a white noise machine! Then the random house noises aren't jarring.
We have one for the bedroom. What I need to do is put her up there to sleep after she nurses around 7ish. Instead of putting her in the RnP in the living room and then hoping she sleeps through our noise. We have a couple options for white noise on the main floor (air purifier, Mamaroo, stove fan) but DH and I end up shouting to each other over them which doesn't work, haha.
I feel like such a bad mom. It's just that she hates everything. When will she be happy, fuck, when will I be happy.
I'm sorry. I remember how hard it was to connect to DS1 and how frustrating it was to not have an answer for all the screaming. Most colicky babies seem to get over it around 12 weeks. That was the case with DS1, too. So hang in there.
Is there a two week growth spurt? DS2 wanted to nurse all.night.long last night. He would only give me 1.5 hour chunks of sleep and then would nurse for like an hour. So tired.
@priss08 so many hugs. Newborns can be so hard, but "this too shall pass." Most newborns get past this around three months and there is no shame in asking your doctor for help.

DD did nothing but eat around the 2 week mark and then again at the 3 week mark. She only did it during the day though.

@priss08 you can be thankful she doesn't do it during the night but that doesn't make it any less hard. Be kind to yourself. You're doing the best you can for her and you deserve the best too.

That's good - hopefully it means it will pass and I'll get some longer stretches soon. I think he's still got his days and nights mixed up, though.
I was originally an April mommy, but dd came early due to preeclampsia at 37 weeks. She made it in March by a few days and was born via CS on March 29th. We're home and settling into our new routine.
About me: I'm 33 and work in healthcare. This is dd #2, dd1 is 2 1/2 and is very excited to have a little sister. My H and I both work in different aspects of health care. We have a dog and 2 cats. Feel free to ask any other questions!

So I called the surgeons office. The nurse agrees with the dr I saw Friday that its still very early and draining it wouldn't really be productive. She did tell me that the cyst and infection and go away without actually draining and I can use anti-itch cream so that was awesome. The itching was so bad I was crying from frustration at 2am. I'm just going to keep taking the meds and live my life from heating pad.
I feel like such a bad mom. It's just that she hates everything. When will she be happy, fuck, when will I be happy.

I've had two babies like this. :/ But you're right, DS seemed to magically stop around 12 weeks. So I only have 8 weeks to go.
I kind of hate that me and my siblings were all happy, easy babies because my parents can't handle DD. If they try to help all they do is ask me why she's crying every two minutes.

I'm sorry you've had to deal with this twice! And that sucks about your parents. I was a tough baby so my parents were cool but everyone else was trying to find a way to "fix" DS. Like I hadn't already tried to feed him and change his diaper! So annoying.
erinshelley21 hope dd feels better soon! Littles that don't feel week are the worst! Hope you get some relief soon yourself. Sorry your so uncomfortable!
. sorry your dog sucked today. How has he been adjusting to baby? Think he's acting out? Or dog is also 4. She's been good, but sometimes is weird around C.
@priss08 hope the doctor can give you singe good suggestions/help today. Easier said than done, but try to remember that this is hard and that it's ok to struggle.
We've started to get into a decent night routine (C sheriff's pretty awesome at night - thank good!) Bedtime is still a bit of a struggle - not ready difficult, but trying to get him down a little bit earlier.
Daytime has no schedule right now. He's awake quite a bit during the day now, and I feel guilty when he's awake that I'm not always interacting with him. Sometimes he will lay in his swing wide awake and just look around. Not fussy, and seems content. But then I feel bad if I'm like washing dishes or something and he's awake, because I'm not interacting with him.

Exactly this. It's hard and it's ok not to like what's going on.
Do you think it's worth a call to your ob to talk about what you are feeling? I remember calling sometime within the first month. It made me feel a little better.
