DH and I went out for our anniversary last night and got home to find C had taken a bottle with absolutely no fuss, like she does it every day. Quite the achievement for her so I was pleased!
Both kids slept late this morning, which was nice since I was up til almost midnight watching TWD and part of Talking Dead.
No big plans today; a third and final mover is coming to give us an estimate, and I need to hit Publix at some point.
trtlcrzy any update on baby O? Are they planning to try to take him off ecmo this week?
I don't really have much of an update. It seems like they give her the news he won't make it past that day but then he gets a little better so they give her some hope. My best guess is they won't take him off before Friday, if she elects to do it without someone forcing her hand.
Morning! It's a nice day, I slept well, and I'm out of the house. LOL. Actually we had a pretty nice day yesterday, aside from DH annoying me every time he opened his mouth. Both boys were in good moods this morning, so it was a nice start to the week.
So Colin is now waking up a good 1/2 hour to 45 minutes early. He's willing to play in his room for a bit, but right now there aren't a lot of toys up there. I need to find some time to gather up some of the clutter from downstairs and transfer it to his toybox and the bins in his closet. It should make the downstairs slightly less cluttered while also keeping him busy so DH can get his precious "me time". Seems like a win-win, I just need to find time to do it because there's no way DH will. Even though it'll benefit him!
Stayed home today. Pretty sure I have the same stomach bug Cadence had last week. Good thing its a quick one, but I'm scared to put anything in other than water.
JoeLies Cs wake up time does not sound delightful, I'm sorry.
It's usually around 6:15 and DH is already awake and watching TV in bed (I've long since left on my run). It takes him about 2 minutes to get Col changed out of his nighttime pull-up and into underwear before letting him play. Sometimes he comes back at some point to use the potty. DH just makes it out like it's this huge deal that throws off his whole morning. He seems to forget that I've taken 90% of Chase's nighttime wake-ups for the last year. And I took 100% of Colin's, with the exception of when I was in CA for 5 nights when he was 5 months old. So this, to me, does not seem like a big deal.
I'm back in the office today. I think my house is healthy. My brother texted me saying he had the flu yesterday and now my nephew has it today. This stuff is spreading like wildfire everywhere, but I can't help but feel guilty. My kids were feeling better by Thursday and then Henry got a little bout of it back Saturday, but he wasn't really around my brother that much. They could have gotten it somewhere else, right?
JoeLies Owww I was thinking before your run! Ds wakes up around 06.30, so around the same time.
Nope.
To be fair, DH is for the most part a great Dad and I try to praise him often. He had a very different childhood than I did and came into fatherhood totally clueless, and is generally very open to my ideas. I've been feeling kind of "off" physically for the last week and he gets the brunt of my foul mood. I'm super cautious about venting about him to people who actually KNOW him, so I feel like you all hear a lot of negativity. Which probably isn't really fair or representative of him.

Are any other N13s toewalkers? Cadence walks, runs, and stands on tiptoes literally all the time. My brother said he wouldn't worry about it, since the main thing it signals is CP, she clearly doesn't have. I, of course, googled and saw a lot about short tendons and surgeries and weeks/months of casts....no thank you. She CAN walk flat footed when I remind her, so I'm wondering if it has just become a habit for her.
TTMA teething; what works, what doesn't, signs etc. Ds was never bothered. I know lucky, he compensated by not STTN until well over a year and a half, so don't feel jealous 😉.
Teething signs for us are usually increased drool, chewing on fingers/toys/all the things, and fussiness. Also biting when nursing depending on what teeth are coming in. Usually Motrin helps with the pain and they are good to go. I used to use teething tablets but those are not recommended anymore.

It could definitely be just a habit, but if it keeps up I'd mention it to the pedi at some point. My cousin had to have physical therapy as a kid bc he was a tiptoe walker due to short tendons. No surgeries or casts, though.
klongoria11 maybe you could ask her to march or stomp sometimes to get her flat footed. Also ask the school if she does it there, that girl is clever and may be punking you.
nam2013 try a frozen washcloth for her to suck on.
cagoldi did you take X to the pedi? I hope he feels better and your appt goes well.
Not yet. I really think it's separation anxiety and feeling frustrated with not being able to crawl yet.
Third/final mover came today; I'm sure they'd also do a good job so just waiting on an estimate. We ruled out the second company already bc they were more expensive and I liked the first company better anyway.
Currently sorting C's outgrown clothes and boxing them into a tote. I cannot believe she is in 9 and 12 mo sizes already. I mean, I can--because B was the same way--but the last few months have flown by and I'm in serious denial that she's almost 5 months old.

That is really weird of her cagoldi. Why is it so damn hard for her to admit that yes, it is possible that food not prepared w an animal product, is delicious!
I can get real, genuine amazement, "oh wow, I never thought I'd like this so much." But what she's doing sounds like she is constantly trying to point out how she does not want to enjoy it.

No punking. She does it at school too. I've mentioned it to her pedi before, but I think because she was so young they felt she would grow out of it. When she learned to walk it was flat footed, then gradually became tiptoe all the time. I'll work on reminding her more often and work on some leg exercises with her.

I have a toewalker. Like other said, a PT can assess this and make recommendations. If Cadence can walk and run just fine when reminded, then it could be just a sensory preference. All of us have a different sensory profile and have different sensory needs. Ask yourself some questions about how she likes (or doesn't like) receiving sensory information to her feet. How does she feel about socks and shoes? How does she reaction to being barefoot on different surfaces. How does she explore things with her feet?
I could talk about sensory processing at length! V will even do a deep squat while on his tip toes...I could write a book about his sensory "differences" by now.
I just got an email from N's dance teacher. The recital is this weekend (both Friday night and Saturday) and we are planning H's bday party for afterward on Saturday since family will be here for the recital. I planned 2.5 hours for the recital because it is usually 3 but they are removing the "ballet" from the end.
Well... apparently they just removed that to add more dances. There are 56! sooo... say an average of 4 minutes per dance, plus intermission, senior slideshow and awards, the recital is going to be 4-5 HOURS LONG! wtaf. N has 1 dance and they are #13, but my niece has a dance in each half so my sister and BIL, SIL and nieces who are coming to watch will stay til the end.
I will be leaving at intermission to get ready for the party and for anyone who won't be at the recital. Maybe I can talk N into gymnastics next year

calishove Cadence took a page out of Vs book this weekend. I found her in the kitchen sneaking cookies after I told her she needed to wait for dinner to eat anything else. She's still working on her sneaking skills though because I called to her, "what are you doing?" And she called back, "eating secret cookies!"

Just wait until she starts setting the table. V got out the silverware for himself and Lovey, along with a tub of yogurt and pasta. Secret dinner of champions and Loveys.
