Meeting is done...no overnights yet which bio parents do not like but it's for the best currently.
Overall it went fine but bio parents need to make all appts and have clean drug tests (some have been missed which counts as a positive)
I'm glad everything went okay. I've been stalking you all day waiting for an update! Were your concerns mentioned/addressed at the meeting?
It's so strange to me that visits have increased at all with missed/"positive" drug tests... I've been under the impression (at least in my state) that visits are almost never increased unless the bio parents are basically "A+ students" and do every single thing they are supposed to do.

It's THC that they are using. They were heavy users before (enough to impair them too often) and are doing better at it but last drug test showed positive and they missed last week with grandma moving up so that doesn't look good.
Also, there was an incident with a family friend who isn't supposed to be living there this weekend that has also happened a couple years ago and he got let back in their lives so caseworkers are wanting to make sure he is out of the picture by more than a couple days currently. And the bio mom still hasn't set up her counseling but bio dad has and has been attending (most of the time at least). So no overnights and no increased visits than what is currently set up.

Bio parents are upset about the news because they feel it goes against the judges wishes of "as soon as possible" but there are conditions that do need to be met. However, caseworkers didn't really outline it very well at meeting so I hope it doesn't cause the parents to do something dumb/reckless or go backwards.

wesleycrusher, I am so sorry that happened. Sounds very scary. I hope DS is okay. It is such a struggle with all the other things parents have think about before TPR happens. That must have added so much unnecessary stress in an already stressful situation.

I've been off the boards for months while I finished school. I graduate with my MA in two weeks. We changed home study providers, had our home visit, and now we're just getting the last bit of paperwork in.
