I am lying in bed. I went to bed at 11:30 last night. Way too late. I need to go to bed before 10 which makes me feel old.
We have a few errands to run most importantly mailing out my application for initial RN licensure which makes me want to puke a little. Then I need to buckle down and start studying for the boards! I've been enjoying my time off but it is back up reality.
Thanks for keeping thing rolling, TheEleventhHour. Also, I heart heart your avatar, but I think I'm a Capaldi girl now. ;-)
I have to clean today, WOOT! Lol. And DH will probably be working downstairs so I get to do it myself. We've been having our bathroom redone, courtesy of our fabulous landlord, and they finished it yesterday--only a whole week later than they said they would! Gah. So, we're having a dinner party with 6 guests and their kids on Sunday and the house is horribly dusty. I've mopped the men's damn path through the house twice already and it's still gritty. Took 2.5 hours after they left to wipe down the entire bathroom so we could put our shit back in there, and that felt good.
Anyway, blah blah blah. I have cabin fever like crazy so I could go on indefinitely.
It is going to be like 45 here today! It's been frigid cold for weeks now. I'm so ready for warmer temps. All this snow is going to melt and it'll be a muddy mess but I'll take it!

Took me a while but I finally made it over to check out the rebels. Definitely has a "district 13" feel over here. Anyway I too am looking forward to warmer temps today. Plan on getting DS out to the park or doing something outside. He has some serious cabin fever for sure!!!! Also I am excited to have a 3 day weekend!! Wahoo!
I totally forgot it was a 3-day weekend. I feel like I live in a weird time warp as a SAHM. I need more schedule in my life--so glad DD starts "preschool" in a week and a half! Yay, structure!

martha919 I still haven't watched any of the Capaldi episodes! Mostly because I don't really like Clara anymore. I want him to get a new companion! But also Eleven is totally my Doctor

jobiann It is going to be 48 here tomorrow! This winter has been so strange. We haven't really gotten snow (just a couple of dustings, not even an inch total) but it has been more frigid than usual with tons of ice which we normally don't deal with. But then the temp will randomly shoot up into the 40s or even 50s for a couple of days. Global warming FTW!
Dude, TheEleventhHour, Capaldi is sooooo good. Omg. Drool. You'll hate me for this but Matt Smith wasn't my favorite. It took me so long to even get used to him and then I just felt like he was a big awkward puppy dog. But I loved the Ponds! Clara...I don't have anything against her and I think she's cute, but I do agree that it's time for someone new. It keeps looking like she's gonna go, but then NOPE.
Random question: would I like Dr. Who? I've never seen it. I'm a super nerd, just not sure if I'm the right kind of nerd. If this is helpful for decision making:
Nerd things I like: Jane Austen Harry Potter Time travel, though usually in the context of romance, i.e. Outlander, The Time Traveler's Wife, Ruby Red trilogy BBC/British shows: Downton Abbey, The Paradise, Sherlock
Nerd things I don't like: Sci Fi Animation Monty Python
yes i think you'd like it we binge watched the "new who" (when the series restarted in 2005 with 9) when i was out on maternity leave and we got hooked....after all the comic cons we went to and all the doctor who costumes and all the ppl in my harry potter world who watched it, i felt like i was missing something....and i'm glad we watched it...
i'd have to say 10 is my fave, love 11 and i think 9 doesn't get enough credit to be honest....you never forget your first doctor i like 12....capaldi is ok...still growing on me....i mean i adjusted to 10 and 11 a lot quicker than i'm adjusting to 12....maybe it's bc i'm not a big clara fan? who knows....but i do enjoy the show a lot
also dh is now obsessed with extreme couponing on tlc

We are finally celebrating R's bday today. We were all still recovering from our colds last weekend so we had to postpone it. Just balloons, cupcakes, presents, pizza and my parents. That's all we need here for a great bday.
I just got back from ross and grocery shopping. I was looking for more toy storage for the living room, a new sweater, a new shower curtain and something new for the center of our dining table. Holy crap i walked in and found all! I figured I'd walk out empty handed but instead am 50 dollars broker. I was shocked i found everything i was looking for. Awesome! When i came back dh had just put R down for a nap. I'm currently enjoying my 1 cup of coffee and some sugar cookies. Those vday cookies get me everytime in safeway.
Once i regain my energy I'm going to clean a little before my parents get here. I entertained the idea of dtd with dh but he gave me a weird look. :/ i tried.
I cannot believe I'm 30 weeks tomorrow. This has gone by way faster than R. I have about 6 weeks left of work. I've started already filling out the paperwork for my employer. I really need to wash his clothes though and assemble the swing and oh pack my hospital bag. I hate having it live in our room for weeks but hate the idea of going into labor with nothing ready.
It is not a 3 day weekend for me just for dh. Since he'll have R home with him monday I'll be actually racking up some ot as I've been trying to work as much as possible before i go out.

Hi guys! Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Ours has been pretty chill. Yesterday we took DD to a Children't museum. It was a lot of fun. Today DH had to work so it's just been DD and I. However, my college best friend that lives in town stopped by and brought her dog for a visit. She was mainly here during DD's nap time and we had such a nice time catching up.
Tomorrow will be church and then I am working with a new respite client. He's another 2 year old, so I'll be leaving mine to care for another--kinda crazy but it should be fun. Then I'm going to enjoy my long weekend and the fact that I only have one class to deal with this week

@aeroplaneoverthesea I think you'd like Doctor Who. It definitely has sci-fi elements but not in an obnoxious way if that makes sense. I am also not a huge sci-fi fan either. I started with New Who (the Ninth Doctor) which was a reboot from Classic Who. I would start there. I do want to eventually watch some of the Classic Who though. There are hundreds and hundreds of episodes a lot of which are also on Netflix.
martha919 Ok, ok. I will have to start the Capaldi season. I was sad to see Matt Smith go but do agree that Capaldi was a great choice. I will have to see if the current episodes are on demand for BBC America!
littleheaven I wish the Ninth Doctor had more than one season! It took me a few episodes to get into it but I really did end up loving him. I've read that he had issues with the writers and creators and chose to left the show. He isn't my favorite Doctor but I would have enjoyed more seasons with him.
ain't nothin wrong with that in the short time that dh and i have watched it we've become big dw nerds ourselves....we were thinking of dressing up as amy and rory (didn't figure out anything for soph) for halloween with tick marks on us...like the silence episodes.... you know it's on bbc america weekday mornings? one of the things i enjoy most on my days off....
We had DD's party today it was huge. A few people I really wanted to see didn't show but that's okay it was a really cool family party. It lasted over 4 hours but totally worth it given it was at my grandma's house. Tomorrow we are going to brunch for DD's real birthday then daddy goes to work.
Monday we have a wake to go to tho which sucks. It was seen coming but still sucks.
