Hugs @priss08. I agree with PPs about writing it down, I would struggle to find the words in the moment but could read if I had to. You are awesome for seeking the help you need. Hugs to you as well @justinslovo. Sorry for the rough day, glad you took the moment aside you needed.
One week check today. Baby girl is at her hospital discharge weight so she seems to be gaining (she had dropped more when public health visited). Weight check in a week so hopefully she keeps it up
@justinslovo hugs. Glad you took a moment to yourself (even if it was just to scream outside), whatever helps in the moment!! And so happy your DH is home now and things have improved. Tomorrow is a new day, hopefully it's a better one!
I've been renting a hospital grade pump this whole time when I was told my at home pump I used in the hospital (eventflo) wasn't good enough to get my milk in.
Today I tried my eventflo again in hopes to return the rental- big mistake. My supply is half of a typical day and my nipples are burning! Omg.
I told my H we need to bite the bullet and get me a good one. Hoping to get the Spectra soon after reading reviews.
I wish I read reviews on pumps before adding the evenflo on my registry. I feel bad wasting it since it was $150 that someone spent on me.
Hugs @priss08. When I have difficult conversation -even work related, I got in with point form notes and glance down at it to remind me what I wanted to say. I hope you can share your true feelings at your appt.

DD and I are both exhausted. She's been sleeping a lot today but only if not eating. I joke that if she's awake she needs a boob. Today was one of those days. Strongly considering putting her in her RnP and going to lay down myself while Dh puts ds to bed.

Will your insurance cover it? In my state all breast pumps are covered under the affordable care act using a company called Acceleron.

No, my work insurance doesn't cover it. I'm in Canada and our government health insurance doesnt either. So annoying.

Scratch that. I forgot about my nightly ass soaking. I'm halfway through the antibiotics and I think they are helping so I need to keep on keepin on.
The bath is not relaxing though. I can hear DD fussing and Dh and ds arguing about putting pjs on for bed. I was hoping DD would snooze because I'm trying to figure out a bedtime routine for when I'm solo with both of them since she's cried for 10-15 minutes 2/3 nights I've done so far.
DS stayed in our room till he was over a year old, since we lived in a one bedroom apt at the time. It was rough lol. Now we are in a bigger place so this baby will move out as soon as she has a good sleep routine. Hopefully no later than like 8mos? I don't mind the room sharing but it would be nice to have it to ourselves sooner rather than later. God I hope this baby STTN faster than DS.
We just had a random hail storm come through, I'm scared to go outside and check for damage, I don't think I can mentally handle an insurance claim and dealing with getting a new roof right now
@amc25 hope your drive is going smoothly! Thinking of you.
Thanks for thinking of me! Things are going smooth-ish. The newborn is being a perfect unicorn baby and sleeping for the 2-3 hour stretches we're driving in between his feedings. The toddler, on the other hand... isn't napping in the car at all and is whining and screaming at me for long stretches of time (my ears are still ringing after nearly an hour of him having a meltdown where he said "wa-er cup" and "hold it" over and over and over - unicorn baby slept through all of that shit).
Also, I got to drive in snow for the first time in 5 years. Not a fun surprise, but thankfully conditions weren't too bad and I still remembered how to drive in them. But now there's no snow where we stopped for the night, so I got all the "fun" of driving through snow without my kids even getting to see or enjoy it.
kristhegirl I'm currently in your state and don't know the alcohol laws here. Do they sell beer at Walmart?
They should! Alcohol licensing is screwy but Walmart down here has booze.
I'm getting nervous for ds' tongue tie correction on Thur. I hope it's quick and doesn't hurt him too much. If he still won't nurse after fixing it I will feel bad for putting him through it.
I don't know if they gave you any info but pro tip: bring a swaddle sack to wrap baby in before the procedure. They had us hold our daughter' arms down while they did the procedure and this helped make it easier on all of us. Big hugs. It's a stressful thing to go through. We have an ENT appt next week for suspected tongue and lip ties.
Thanks for this tip. We have an appointment with the ENT tomorrow and I'm really nervous about the whole thing
@milaela20, I had lunch with a friend today whose son just had his tongue and lip tip corrected, she said she was surprised that she had to do stretches with him after every feeding for two weeks after the procedure. I wanted to give you a heads up just in case, but I hope everything goes well and BF gets easier for y'all. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow! (It is tomorrow right, or am I losing my mind?)
Omg stretches? I'm getting so nervous. I'm going to be sure to ask questions before they go ahead with the scissors. It's Thursday this week. I am for sure going to cry, I just know it.
mikaela20, both my kids had their tongue ties corrected. We were not in the room when they did it, and no need for any stretches afterwards. I asked about that with #2 and ent said it depends on the type and severity whether that is needed. We had major reservations about doing it with #1, but it was so quick and she never fused once they brought her back to us. It helped bf so much for us, and I'm so glad I did it with both.
Seems like there are lots of different experiences on this board but wanted to give you a positive one. It will be OK!
mikaela20, my experience was similar to that of mls5871 with DD. We were in the room for it and she cried but as soon as I nursed her (which was almost immediate) she settled right down and never looked back. We did have "stretches" but they were super minimal and easy. I think it definitely helped with her latch too. Honestly, I wish we had done her lip tie at the same time but no one mentioned it to me. Now that her teeth are in I find it super noticeable (from an esthetic standpoint) and I want to have it done to help me clean her teeth (dentist, I know...). Anyway, I know I'm rambling but what I'm trying to say is my experience wasn't bad at all and hopefully it'll make a big difference for you! Good luck and don't worry if you cry, I'm sure they're used to it and definitely understand!!

I wanted to mention the stretches but didn't want to overwhelm you. It's okay to cry. We had C's done at 5.5 months because we didn't know she had it prior...I was SOOO anxious the entire time. I actually ended up vomiting in their trash can after she successfully nursed following the procedure. Talk about awkward. It's going to suck but really will be okay. I can give some tips for stretches if/when you're ready.
Thanks I will come for tips and advice after!
Did it improve breastfeeding right away or was it after a while or not at all? My biggest anxiety is putting him through this only for him to still struggle with breastfeeding.

We just had ours today and he immediately stopped clicking with feeding and he had milk dribbling out of his mouth before he passed out milk drunk, so I think it improved immediately for him! The stretches seem really easy...I just have to do a finger swipe and a finger rub where they clipped 3x a day for 10 days.

Oh this makes me feel so much better! I'm glad yours improved immediately. I really have high hopes this will fix our breastfeeding troubles.
It helped immediately for both mine as well. We had them both done at one day old. With yours being a little older it could take a bit of time for them to change their bad habits. You may want to schedule time with a LC ASAP afterwards so they can help if needed.
