Sleep here is improving at least for the past few nights. AV gives me a stretch from 7/8pm through 12am. Then again through 3/4am. It's at that 3/4 am wake up that she just stirs and stirs and has a hard time actually sleeping but I'll take it. She's still in bed with me but it's actually to the point now where it's comfortable with her (she's not sleeping on me or thrashing around all night).
For anyone cosleeping, when are you transitioning to crib and nursery/their bedroom ?
WFH today and I think my sisters might stop by for lunch. It's rainy here but that's ok bc it makes me feel better about not leaving the house.
ClassyMrsA L's sitting !!!! I don't want to bump the other thread but holy cow we have sitting babies!!
kleigh we coslept with C until he was 2. We semi-tried to transition him a few times, but he fought it, and I was more than happy to keep him with me. I suspect H will be similar. But I am fully aware this does not work for most people.
I'd love to keep them with us that long but given the whole situation I don't think we'd all safely fit 😩
I slept!! Woo hoo!!! Definitely still sick, but feeling much better than yesterday, thank goodness. I got about 10 hours of sleep. I needed it so badly.
This of course was made possible by D, who slept almost 12 hours overnight, the blessed angel. And of course now I'm paranoid that it means she's getting sick 😕
kleigh Lilah sometimes sleeps in the pnp, but we also cosleep most nights for at least part of the night. I did the same thing with Lillian. We started transitioning her to her crib at 8 months and by a year she was in there all night. I'm planning to do the same thing with Lilah. We'll go on vacation this summer to CO and then we'll transition her to the crib when we get back (she'll be about 7.5 months). And, right?! It's so cool to see all the babies starting to sit and get mobile.
Morning ladies! I'm working from home today (I made it less than a week lol). The whole family got to sleep an extra 2 hours! It makes me feel bad that I wake C up at 5:30 knowing that he'll sleep in longer when I don't have work. He's been falling asleep in the car on the way to grandmas so I know he's tired.
He's napping now so I should be getting some work done, but I'd rather catch up here instead. Hopefully I get some motivation in me soon because I do have a lot to get done.
Not much going on here. Lilah slept really well so I did, too! I'm hosting playgroup this morning and then cleaning out my car when Lilah naps this afternoon. Getting DH slightly early so we can take the car in to be cleaned. Then I guess I'll make dinner and we'll probably take a walk.
I'm working on setting up a mini classroom area in the playroom. We're going to do some preschool lessons in the afternoons when Lilah is napping.
B's preschool had the Easter Hat Parade this morning; it's normally outside but since it's thunder-storming here we were in the church gym. The kids were super cute.
Home now and am contemplating a Dunkin run after C nurses and I get the house tidied up. We have the appraisal happening today so I want it looking spiffy (house was inspected last week and it came back clean, hooray!)
Has anyone here used, or heard anything about, the Love to Dream Swaddle UP 50/50 blanket? Looks like it has zip-off shoulder sections so you can do arms in, one arm out, or both arms out.
D is still loving the swaddle but she's 4.5 months and it's gotta end sometime soon. The Merlin isn't working anymore, even for her naps, because she can easily get her hands up in her face and wake herself up. It seems like with this one she could get used to sleeping with her arms in an upward position, but contained, before I start doing one arm out. Idk. Thoughts?

Lol @ sleep. The longest stretch this kid has ever done was like 4.5 hours, and that's only happened maybe twice. We're usually up every 2-2.5 hours still. I'm dying a slow sleep deprivation death.
Wyatt is riding his "motorcycle" (bike) around. I've convinced him this circle is a racetrack and he needs to see how fast and how many times he can go around.
You know what else wears this boy out? Red light green light. I just hang out and make him run and somehow he loves it.
Dying at the thought of this... I am picturing you rocking the twins back and forth in their stroller while W stops and goes and you (hopefully) get to enjoy a coffee and 5 minute phone break.
danib and jubilantsquirrel and tgrimes1980 Alec has yet to do more than a 2 hour stretch since about 2.5 months. Most nights H is up every hour, a good night is every 2 hours. I'm hesitant to say anything bc I'll kick myself if she goes back but Adeline was doing the same thing since about 2.5-3 months... About 3 or 4 nights ago she started giving two 3-4 hr stretches again and it's crazy that what finally feels like a break is 3 hours of sleep.
H is taking the week off of work next week and I'm going to do the same (at least 3 of the days). We are supposed to have really nice (sunny, 70) weather for a few days and we both want to make sure we do some fun things.
I know 5 month olds are not that sophisticated but which of the things below do you think might catch their interest (maybe visually?). In the private thread I'm going to share where I live in case anyone's bored at work and wants to help plan fun things.
Zoo Aquarium Kids museum Hiking/Trails Beach (how do I handle this with the no sunscreen thing?) Steam trains Ducks/pond

kleigh, I think the aquarium would be my first choice. I think the different colors and lights would hold their interest better than some of the other places.

danib, kleigh, I know I'm not alone with the sleepless nights, unfortunately. Hopefully all these babies will realize that sleep is awesome and start wanting to do longer stretches soon!

Also, re: beach, DS was 5 months old in June of 2015 and I used a tiny bit of sunscreen on him ::shrug:: He was also well covered up. If you're uncomfortable with sunscreen you would probably still be okay if they're covered up (rash guard or other long, lightweight shirt and hats of course). And maybe a pop up tent or some other kind of shade.
kleigh I vote whatever is going to be least busy and will entertain you and H the most. The kids won't know or care what they see so at least you will get to enjoy something. Personally, out of your list, going to a kids museum would be lowest on my list and most annoying imo. Most infant sensory rooms/areas at those places are geared toward 6-12mo.
I'm with you sleepless people. I was happy with 4 wake ups last night. I had 3 nights of only 3 wake ups and thought my life was about to change. Nope, it didn't.
On another note, while my friends were visiting we had both kids in our room overnight. Any time E woke up fussing or whining, O didn't wake up! I'm feeling much more confidant about an eventual room share. I'm thinking to try it after we get home from travelling over the week of Easter.
kleigh I vote hiking/trails if you have carriers. I think babies love to hear and see natural things. Trees, sunlight, birds, wind.
kleigh I'd also do either aquarium or hiking with carriers. Those were things that Lillian enjoyed early on. Lillian started enjoying the zoo and at about 9 months. Eta: She just now started enjoying our children's museum. She liked it fine before, but now she can actually do most of the activities instead of being confined to the baby/toddler area.
I was crying this morning about the sleep situation kleigh, I've "spoiled" L, and now he can't/won't sleep on his own. He used to sleep in his own co-sleeper for most of the night but he has been gassy lately and I love baby cuddles and now struggling to get him to sleep even in his co-sleeper! 50% is me! I'm felt awful when I tried CIO and I'm crying with him! Naps are the worst, he only naps 30-40 minutes danib, and ClassyMrsA, how did you do your transitions? tgrimes1980, gas has been our enemy too! kleigh I'm not sure where you are, but I vote aquarium but that's because I'd go without kids! danib, I'm sorry for another cancelled flight!
Can someone pm the pw to the private board, I have never been in!

I left my lunch at home today so I decided to order Jimmy Johns. I was going to be good and get one those unwich things and skip a side. Nope. I got white bread with mayo and a bag of BBQ chips. Oh well, at least my belly is happy.
cheshie6 We started doing bedtime routine in her room. Bath, jammies, brush teeth, books, and then nursing/rocking with lullabies. Once she was out, we put her in the crib and that was that for awhile. She started to not transfer well around 10 months and we tried some "gentle" sleep training that did not help. Then we did Ferber. That worked. And yes, I hated hearing her cry, but honestly she was ready to go to sleep on her own so it took like 2 nights of 20 minutes or less of crying. It's not something I'd do now, but once Lilah is a bit older and we're done traveling for the year we will.
cheshie6 I co-slept with DS and now co-sleep with L. With DS at 6mo we started a bedtime routine in his bedroom where I'd nurse him to sleep, then when he was finally out and fully asleep I'd lay him down in his crib. If he woke up MOTN, then I'd bring him into bed with me. Once we had that down for a while and he was used to the bedtime routine, we did Ferber around 8mo and he started STTN. It took two nights of crying for 40mins, then 20mins, then he never cried longer than a few mins. We've had to re-sleep train a few times since then, now he sleeps fine (will be 2 in June).
As for L, we will prob do the same thing with L around the same time.
waitwhat PF Chang's sounds really good. They keep emailing me free entree coupons and we have a gift card but we never have a chance to go.
jubilantsquirrel Screw the unwich. I decided to try a turkey roll for lunch with no bread or wrap. It was definitely missing something and now I'm starving. Why does bread have to be so good?
