I'm up feeding baby girl. She slept more than 3 hours (lucky me!) but since she's not at birth weight yet I'm wondering if I should have woken her. She power ate before though so I don't know. These early weeks mess with your brain.

Dd2 has done this the past two nights - 4 hours between feedings. Also not up to birthweight. The nurse that has been out for her jaundice weighed her yesterday though and she at least gained so told me to embrace it. I'm just making sure to be extra on the ball with daytime feedings. It's hard, and I agree the early weeks mess with your brain. I also know more feedings will help with her jaundice, but more sleep will help with my sanity and function as a mom.
Thinking of you and hope your contractions turn into the real thing throughout the day jnow.
I dreamt of labor pretty much all night. Didn't experience it, but dreamt about the pain, coping techniques and such. Doc appointment this morning- who knows what that will turn into!
Hard a hard time getting C down last night. H gave him a bottle at one point and gave him a little too much. (I didn't realize until after the fact, because I was eating while H fed him.) C ended up fussy from an upset stomach, and had a lot of spit up. (Like legit spit up all over my shirt.) It took quite awhile to calm him down and get him to sleep. I'm up feeding him now - hoping we aren't up for good since we went to bed so late - fingers crossed he goes back down and I get a few more hours of sleep!

I'm up. DD slept well.... in my arms. The Keflex is making her uncomfortable I think so tonight she'll be getting gas drops. It's been a couple days of this and I just remembered that I read it makes babies gassy. I did doze off in the recliner so I got a few hours of sleep at least.

@amandah2 I say enjoy one 4 hr stretch per night. DD gave me a few our first couple weeks when I turned off alarms in my sleep and it turned out fine. As long as your DD is eating every 2 hrs or so during the day and evening then enjoy some extra sleep.
I'm seriously struggling tonight. It's the third night in a row that A wakes herself up within 30 minutes of me putting her down. She keeps grunting and straining like she's struggling to poop, but her BM have been fine. She sleep just fine when I'm holding her so I have no clue what's going on but something has to give, I need to get some rest
Max does this. He's not straining, he's just loud. If he's not actually crying, I leave him be; otherwise I'd be up at least every 30 minutes, or I'd have to be sleeping with him. Not happening.
obi I was thinking about you and I hope you are well
Im aliiiiiiiive! *thunder crashes*
But barely. These kids have been testing every ounce of patience that I have. I ate breakfast at 12:30 yesterday, because that is when they decided to allow it.
L had her 1m check up on Monday. It went really well. She is up to 12lbs now. A woman in the waiting room with her 15m old asked me if L was 3m. MY ARMS HURT.
Do I win an award for having the most fatass baby on our BMB? Like, I'm pretty sure 10lb5oz at birth hasn't been exceeded yet, right?
Thank the lort and HALLELU this baby didn't come out of my vagina.
She also got her first set of shots and she did sooo well. Even the nurse was like "that's it?"
Good luck at your appointment today @priss08! You can do it!
I was just coming in to say y'all pray for me and/or send positive thoughts. My appointment is in 3 hours.
I kept trying to respond to you yesterday but the littles wouldn't allow it.
Just an anecdote but I have been on Celexa for 2 weeks now and it is making such a huge difference. It is scary to have these conversations but just remember that PPD and PPA are both very common and there is no need for you to suffer through it.
Mental health is not something that you can just walk off or smile your way through. You deserve to feel better and there is treatment out there.

Lucy is also this way. For us, part of it is reflux (physiologic, not needing meds) and part is that as she eats more throughout the night, she is filling up and trying to poop. So, the first feeding isn't terrible with grunting afterward, but with each subsequent session, she grunts more until she has a huge poop and sleeps like a champ -- but that's not until 7:30 am. Womp womp.
I'm with kristhegirl and I don't pick her up. I let her make noise unless she's crying. If you can't sleep through it could you move to another room for one night so you could rest?
