DS2 gave me a 5 hour stretch last night but it was in bed next to me. I swore I wouldn't go down the co-sleeping route again but here we are. Why do my babies hate sleeping on their own??

Hi! Last night sucked. DD has pink eye and was up at 3;30am last night. We ended up bringing her in bed with us. She was acting perfectly fine so I don't know if her eye was keeping her up or if she's coming down with something else. She finally calmed down and fell asleep then DS woke up crying to be fed. It was so fun. I don't think I got more than maybe 3 hours of sleep total. And now I'm afraid DD is going to think we'll bring her into bed with us all the time. Ummm no.
Holy hell was up pretty much all night long. Toddler has an awful cold with a cough that kept her up crying and P wanted to eat every two hours last night. First day home alone with the two of them. Someone please save me!

I'm laughing at all the things that probably I swore I wouldn't do that are now part of our regular routine. Survival mode at its finest
Yeah, you'd think I would have learned the first time around to never say never when it comes to babies! I agree, the first few months are war and I should cut myself some slack.
mosdub & jnow pineapple core? Sexy time with H? Pressure points? Coffee vag steaming?
Grasping at straws for you.
My dog is being an ocd jerk and insisting in barking at me even though I have completed all of his typical morning routine. I don't know what he wants. He just woke Jack from the start of his nap. Ahhhhh!
And we have ants.
Other than that it has been a good morning so far!
Zero evidence, but there is Internet chit chat about a coffee potty helping to induce labor.
I honestly assumed it was another hilarious autocorrect. I just googled and... no, not that desperate. I had a cup of coffee with biscotti this morning- I'll take my coffee that way.
DD also grunts and strains in her sleep - she's trying to burp or fart. I give her gas drops a few times a day but I think I need to up my burping game. It's hard when she's fallen asleep nursing to then burp her, so I think that's why it's the worst late at night.

Everything about this is me as well. I'm open to any and all burping advice.
Also, those of you using gas drops...do you think they are helping?

My toddler is a pro at asking me for things the second I sit down to nurse B. Currently, both B and the toddler are conspiring against me...I really need to poop but B is nursing and DD is screaming for a snack.
I think the terrible twos are starting early here. I have tried to be very conscious of giving C enough attention and to reaffirm positive behaviours since becoming a family of 4. He has been pretty good but this past week he has been really pushing his boundaries and acting deliberately defiant. I think this is just his next phase in figuring out this thing called life and is not directly caused by jealousy. Now... how to deal... I do not know.
So, my OB was in a GREAT mood today and chit chatted with us a long time, haha! He just got back from vacation so I'm thinking he was recharged. Anyway, he did a membrane sweep without me knowing - not nearly as painful as I thought it would be and so far no cramping or discomfort from it. He said I was 3-4 cm dilated and completely (not sure if he used that word actually...he might have said "very") effaced which might be why I didn't have as much discomfort as when the midwife checked me on Friday when I wasn't effaced and only 2cm.
He predicts this baby will be coming sometime this week, but we scheduled an NST for Monday just in case. I'm all excited and nervous and glad my cervix seems to be undergoing some changes!

#mylyfe. Figuring out how to handle the needs of both kiddos at the same time is freaking challenging.

ladytiffany24 I think they're helping but I'm willing to believe it's a placebo for me. She seems to be able to burp little burps during a feeding with the drops, vs. fussing followed by a manly belch without.
I struggle with night burps because I nurse side lying, and I have to sit up and pick her up to burp. So I tend to wait and then she's asleep. I could roll with her on to my back and try burping her on my chest. I'll try that tonight.
I find I can sometimes get the elusive gas bubbles if I start her way up on my shoulder to burp and slowly let her slide down after 20-30 seconds. Kind of like cat yodeling.
This is what I do. I find it helps if I let then really rest on my hand or arm so there's more pressure on the tummy.
This is what I've been doing. Just making sure I'm not missing some other way haha
Yes, this exactly. And I rock him gently to lean back, then forward - more like tipping him back and forth than rocking, to move his belly. But slowly and gently!
I feel like often people only know about shoulder burping so I wanted to mention a possible variation to try.

Had a really exciting diaper change earlier - as I'm wiping Max, I simultaneously realize I need a toilet myself, and hear him farting a lot... Uh oh! Poop rocket! I caught almost all of it in a diaper, got him cleaned up, then got to lay him on a towel on the bathroom floor so I could take care of my own bathroom need.
The family that poos together stays together, right?
The difference between the newborn and size 1 diapers seems pretty big. The newborn ones are too tight around J's stomach, but size 1 leaves some room around the legs that stuff is sneaking out of. So annoying. Also- how do you get formula out of onesies? It stains!
I have a headache and I need to nap, but there seems to be so much stuff to do around the house.....sigh.
My in laws are coming tomorrow. I'm both excited for some help, and nervous about having help. Ha.

All the sorries. I know the feeling!
This is why I am not PT DS even though he is ready. I figured I wouldn't be able to put him on the toilet every time he needed to go due to tending to L. I was right. Dude asks for a million things when I sit down, and I can do a lot while nursing, but not pick up a 35 lb kid and put him on the toilet.
