All the managers at work are at a leadership conference. Everyone at the office decided to WFH this afternoon, which means I should be productive this morning, and yet here I sit reading all the threads on TCF and playing candy crush.
Get it together self!
On a happy note, W slept through the night last night She now doesn't scream when she wakes for the day she just sits up and starts talking and pointing at the bed guard saying "Down. Down." Apparently I can't lift her over it. She must get out of bed on her own and hasn't figured out that she can just go to a spot not covered by the guard.
Also. We have a guy installing a new bathroom fan tomorrow. H is now complaining that it's so expensive 🙄.
"You're welcome to go to home depot and buy one then youtube how to put it in, or make calls to find someone cheaper. I've done my part in scheduling this person."
H informed me last night that he plans on working on the basement ceiling on Saturday and he thinks W will just sit down there and watch him... She is terrified of the saw, that's why I leave the house every weekend when he's working on reno stuff.
I pray that he's smart enough to call my mom and have her take W. Maybe I should call her.
Why can't he just do normal parenting stuff with her this one weekend? Like take her to a play place or park or just play at home. Why must he attempt to install a ceiling with a 22 month old and no other adult there?
Not much on the agenda today. The weather is supposed to be awful, so we will be hanging around the house today. DS goes to his dad's tonight thru Sunday and I'm trying to hold it together and enjoy the day with him.
Does anyone's child have a balance bike? I'm considering getting one for DS for his birthday. He loves looking at bikes, but I think his legs are too short for anything with pedals.

During a conversation yesterday I said, just as a matter of fact, that we don't normally see DH before 9am. He responded all defensively with "I usually get up earlier than that." Wellllll it is currently 8:50am, and you can guess the rest.

Everyone in our old neighborhood had one, I'm def getting Kenzie one. I feel like Maddie is too old now. It was amazing how they were able to quickly transition to a normal bike!
Our sitter has to go have her cat put down this afternoon ☹️ Of course it's my massively busy day at work and no way I can leave early so I'm on my phone trying to coordinate backup care and losing my mind while I'm trying to also do 1 million work things.

we have one but we have yet to put it together for R yet. My cousin swears by them he had then for both his children.

That's sad.
Sorry you have to go through the stress of backup care.

Basically, it's a bike without pedals or training wheels. The kid has their feet on the ground and scoots with their feet. It teaches them balance and makes it easier for them to learn to ride a big kid bike.
I'm sorry. That was Eli yesterday. After almost every request I asked him to do he said "Uhhhhh. NO."
It's been insane! She cried because H went to work. She cried because the dog was in his kennel. She cried because I gave her the goldfish she asked for. She cried because I asked if she wanted yogurt.
And so on. It's been a morning. Nap can't come soon enough!

Alright, I got everything settled. My good friend is taking M in exchange for my sitter (they're also friends) watching her DS one morning next week so she can go to the dr. Babysitting musical chairs.

Does anyone have an knowledge on early signs of autism? My BFF is terrified because the doctor thinks her DD may be autistic. She will be two in July and hasn't ever said a word. She also doesn't interact with others in any way. Her DD did an assessment and failed. What's odd is she excels at everything else. Already potty trained and was walking by 9 months old.
Can a child fail and not be autistic? Any info would be appreciated.

@nmom - Thank you for the information. I figured her DD had more evaluations to go through and there were much more factors that go along with it. She's just so upset right now, and I don't know enough about it to give her any wisdom. Her DD has always been very 'cold' for lack of a better word. Not expressional. Doesn't come up to you to interact. Wants to be alone. Doesn't like loud noises. Non-affectionate. Acts very isolated.

laur1020 K got one for Christmas we've had in the basement waiting for nicer weather. She also needs a helmet. But I'm excited for her to use it finally.
