It's midnight and officially my birthday!! My little sister just sent me my midnight birthday text! Every year for the past 9 years she has been the first person to wish me a Happy Birthday and I've been the first person to with her a Happy Birthday. It's the one thing I really look forward to every year!
My mom is going to watch Z so I can finally get my hair done! I'm so excited! H has to work but is getting off early so maybe I can talk him into going to dinner.
I hope you ladies got some rest and have a great day!
It's almost 2 and if Owen sleeps for 20 more minutes it will be a four hour stretch! DH takes this feeding/diaper change....and I'm pumping in the living room, story of my life. Hopefully he gives us another four hours so I can sleep until 6ish, which would be heaven!
I talked to our vet last night about the cat peeing business. Ugh, so he agrees it is behavioral (this cat previously had a urinary blockage, but this is def different this time). He suggested feliway (anyone ever use this)? If this doesn't work I'll be putting my cat on Prozac. ..Jesus, really?
Today I'm getting a visit from my brothers GF and my nephew. He is only six months older than Owen, so it will be nice for them to get to grow up together.
Today I'll be dropping to seven pumps per day, my goal is to get to six without losing too much supply before I return to work at the end of March. With six ppd I'll be able to only pump three times during my 12 hr shifts, which would be ideal and easier to accomplish than 4 or 5 pumps.
My random: I'm pretty sure I made FI mad yesterday even though he said he wasn't. I got a cute video of squish playing and cooing on her play mat and at the end it sounded like she said "hi." She's made that noise a lot before. I was just lucky enough to catch it. I texted FI to tell him about it and he said he was excited to see it. Well, I posted it to Facebook, which he doesn't have, and one of his friends must have told him how cute it was because when he got home from work he barely spoke to me. I finally asked him if he wanted to see the video, he said no, and that it sucked that he didn't get to be the first to see it. I apologized and told him I'd be more considerate of that next time. He claimed he wasn't mad but continued not speaking to me all evening and when I nodded off on the couch around 8pm I woke up to find my pillow laying next to me and our bedroom door was closed. WTAF!? Sure, I sleep in the living room with LO sometimes so FI can get sleep for work, but he didn't even give me a choice and booted me to the couch! But no, he wasn't upset.
Pumping and going back to sleep. On the couch...because now I'm afraid I'd attempt to smother him in my sleep. Not really, but it's possible.

LO is sooo noisey when she is falling asleep. She grunts and squirms and acts all ridiculous but when I look over her eyes are closed and she's perfectly content. What the heck are you doing kid ?!
@nursesouder One of our cats was born with cataracts and can't see very well. When we moved to our house he started acting weird and licking the hair off his belly. The vet said he was stressed because he had our apartment memorized, and suggested putting him on Prozac. I love my cat and felt bad for him...but come on! He just needed time to get to know our house.
My sleep schedule is more of a mess than LO's! Working midnights with her is impossible. I'm wide awake right now and she's sleeping. I'm so thankful I get to go to day shift March 1st. That's where I initially started, and I enjoy seeing all of the doctors and hospital staff. Nights are lonely.
Anyone else having muscle stiffness and joint pain since delivery? Arthritis runs in my family, and I've always had a bad lower back and knees (I'm only 28 though!), and it bothered me a little more during pregnancy but I assumed it would go away after I had LO. Nope. Everything is so much worse, every joint hurts, pops and cracks. I'm going to see my doctor next week, but just wanted to know if anyone else has had or heard of this?
We went out for sushi last night. Here is DS1 with his first sushi experience 2 years ago on the left and now DS2 on the right. They both enjoyed it! And I did too - finally able to eat everything I want! And wine and sake!
I go back to work a week from today. Whomp whomp. I have a few things I need to do at home today - some fun (crafts) and some not (maternity leave paperwork), so maybe the fact that there's not much time left will be motivation.
I got DS1 a snack of milk and bread last night. He asked me, "Mommy, can your body make bread?" I was like, "Huh?" But then I realized that he has seen me pumping, and I always explain that I'm "making milk," so he just wanted to know if I could make bread too. Good question!
LO gave us such a hard time putting him to sleep. He's barely down in my arms after 3 failed attempts and I'm afraid to put him down. He only has 90 minutes until his next feeding. Gah. I'm so tired. I hope today is far more productive. I didn't get up and move around until 3p yesterday!
ourcrazynavylife - My E does the kicking and grunting nonstop too. I know we're supposed to think our LOs are perfect and adorable, but honestly it's driving me insane.
I cried earlier tonight because E was ready to eat again after only an hour of sleep. Luckily his next stretch was 2.5 hours. I'm about to put him down now and I hope we can sleep until at least 7! Please please please...

I'm not sure its normal but I have hip pain and just had to go get a Motrin for it. My hippos have also been cracking a lot. My fingers and wrists are aching, I hope that's not post partum carpal tunnel starting :-(
I think we're hitting a growth spurt. LO was on the boob every 1-1.5 hours yesterday and every two tonight. She's latching terribly and is getting mad at me when she messes up and pops off of my boob. Lord help me, my nipples, and my sanity.
My husband sucks. He woke up during the 5 am feeding and offered to do the diaper change. H8s version of a diaper change involves lots of kisses for baby and loud talking. Now I have a wide awake little boy and a snoring husband... how the fuck does that work?

This happens to us all the time! She doesn't cry just fusses and fussed. Either wake up and be serious or go to sleep! Otherwise I feel like the bad guy waking you up.
I really want my 4-5 stretches of sleep back at night. This week we have been doing 1.5-2.5 stretches. Oh and all day yesterday and it's looking like today too he started nursing for 45 minutes rather than the usual 30
Lo actually slept for 2 4-hour stretches last night! I feel like a new woman. Maybe he was making up for the fact that he was a holy terror yesterday. Nothing made him happy yesterday! Hopefully he's more content today.
I may or may not have just flipped out on DH. At 6 his alarm on his phone goes off.....blasting, like yesterday....waking the baby again. And he had the nerve to snooze so it went off again. Dude? WTAF!

Up early so I can run before my husband goes to work. It was hard waking up knowing I normally sleep another 2 hours but LO was hungry anyhow. Now LO is fed and happy and I'm trying to wake up with coffee before heading out.
Happy birthday kml218! When I was younger we had a game in the family to see who was the first to wish the birthday person a happy bday. My mom usually won since she'd wake up at 4 am for work. Post-kids I'm lucky if my sisters remember.
pleirey I can't stand it when my dh does the no I'm not mad pretense.
hazelnut my LO sometimes fusses, can't get a good latch and gets mad because of it. I've finally figured out that it's because she needs to burp, fart or poop and can't multi task yet!
megan81112 I hear ya! DH is working evenings this week so when he gets home he wants to play with and cuddle F. I think it's cute that he misses her so much and love watching them together, but at midnight I usually try to be quiet and not stimulate her so it's messing with our schedule too.
My randoms- I wish I could fall back asleep. I keep pushing baby over to his spot on the bed and he keeps squirming his way right next to me. Cute but I fear dropping the phone on him. Again.
I hope my dad visits today. I need to buy some groceries.
My cousin had a baby at the end of jan. I want to visit her this friday and see how they're doing. Baby weighed 10 lbs birth! My poor cousin is petite not even 5 ft tall. I'm gonna really try to make it and bake her some choc chip oatmeal cookies too.
