I think I finally talked H into going out for dinner tonight. He was insisting we can't take baby to a restaurant. Um, we totally can, and it seems easy to do so now while she's tiny than when she's a toddler! I think his mom rubbed off on him- she used to do daycare and would bitch anytime there were kids at restaurants that weren't quiet. I'm not even talking a nice restaurant LOL- I suggested steak n shake or panera for tonight.
100% go now while she'll sleep the whole time or be easily silenced by feeding her. Plus no one really messes with babies at restaurants.
This has been a week from hell - 2 month shots, DD1 with upper respiratory virus that requires a nebulizer treatment, DD2 catches cold from DD1 (so I take her in because of DD1's virus), 1st post partum period and now DS is coughing/congested. I was at the pediatrician's office 3 times this week. Wine me!

MIL gave me a ring sling she used with the younger kids. It's not like one I've seen before - the edges of the fabric are padded. So it's hard to tighten it up, and particularly hard to tighten outside v inside rails or anything like that. I want to use it but I feel like it's too loose and maybe that the padding is unsafe (at least for a newborn).

Yikes. You definitely deserve a drink! Hope everyone feels better soon!

I want Steak and Shake fries now. Mmm.
We've gone out to dinner at least twice a week since DD has been born. We usually go earlier, and she sleeps the whole time. Haha.
So, I'm pretty pissed. While I was getting my hair done, no one fed the baby. She went 6 hours without eating. I feel so guilty for leaving the baby after yesterday but my H insisted his parents wanted to watch the baby, could watch the baby and would be hurt if I cancelled.
I'm also so confused. How could you not know a newborn was hungry?

1. Baby ate at 9 am. 2. I had an appointment at 12 pm. 3. I walked the dog from 11 am to 11:30 am. When I came home, the baby was awake and had apparently been crying. I said it was close to her eating time, changed her diaper and did tummy time. FIL went to pick up H. 4.MIL clearly didn't want to be left alone with the baby, so I told her I'd wait til my H came home to leave. The baby needed to "eat at 12:30 pm" but H would heat the bottle for her. 5. I call H who is on the train home from court and say he needs to heat bottle, or feed the baby. He was apparently sleeping, but I couldn't tell. 6. H walks in and tells me to leave bc I'll be late if I don't, I run out. 7. I come back at 3 pm to a crying baby. My IL's say they think she is hungry. I ask when she finished eating. They say I was the last one to feed her.
I acted super nice abt it, but I'm really pretty mad.

I would not have been nice about that. How could your MIL not know a baby was hungry?
(My H went back to work, and didn't remember me telling him she needed to eat. I'm still confused as how my in laws, who were there the entire AM, and awake, and knew she ate every 3 hours, didn't know!)
My twins just became snotty messes too! It's stressful but I'm pretty sure they are just colds so if the baby gets it it won't be a huge deal as long as he doesn't get a fever
Hope yours feel better soon. Cute twin moment.. I gave O her chewable tylenol.. which she was going to share with her twin. Only O needed it though, so the other gave it back. Adorable though
Thank you, I hope your house feels better too! That is adorable. Now that the girls are older they have really sweet moments like that that I love... although their fights are also more intense lol

I would be really annoyed. Even if they couldn't figure it out themselves, you told them she needed to eat soon! Soon is not another 3/4 hours 😑
glb30 how did they not feed her? For that long, wasn't she fussy/crying? If my kid went that long, he would have been screaming his head off. That's insane. Even if she wasn't fussing, common sense would say that a newborn would have needed to eat in that amount of time.

They said she didn't cry until the end, but she was def crying when I walked back in. 😞
Placing L on his back to sleep and he rolls to his side. Maybe I'm swaddling his shoulders/arms too much?
Over analyzing all the things
F does this, too, and we don't swaddle. I doubt it's anything you're doing. I think some babies just prefer to be on their side and there isn't much you can do to stop it.
