D is passing the two hour mark on her nap. I laid down with her and feel so much better! Don't ask me why I'm still not asleep lol. I'm enjoying laying here watching her though. I love how babies' lower lips hang down when they're sleeping.
Glad you are feeling better dashook! I'm going to say a prayer to the sleep gods that we don't have a repeat of last nights events. I'll say one for you too.
What age do kids usually drop the last nap? J is WIDE AWAKE again. I always put him to bed between 7-7:30. His last nap ended at 5:30. Guys, I'm doing nothing different. Why does my kid all of a sudden not want to sleep??
He's still doing 2 naps a day? I don't remember when DS1 dropped his morning nap, I believe it was before 18 months though. Maybe 15 months?
He currently takes one 2.5-3 hour nap. He usually wakes up around 4:30 but I don't let him sleep past 5. Bedtime is at 8:30.

Transition to 2 naps happens around 6 months, transition to 1 nap happens between 1yr and 2yr, and the final nap disappears between 3 and 4 yrs. Some kids take longer, some less (like Lillian is in the process of dropping her one nap at 2.5. I think we'll be napless by the end of summer).

Uhhh this kid over here is the sleepless wonder. 45 minute nap in the morning and never ever longer than 1.5 hours in the afternoon. That's a lie, I can get two+ out of her if I hold her and keep the nipple in her mouth nonstop. She used to sleep for about 20 minutes after her 6 o'clock feed but stopped that a few weeks ago. And she doesn't fall asleep asleep until 9 or later at night. So zero help, I guess just letting you know that if he doesn't like sleep he's not alone.
So...DH is sick. He's laying in his recliner talking about how he might puke. Great. First off, I hate for him to not feel good. Second, is it a virus we're all going to get? Third, I'm going to have to do e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g tonight with zero help.
I'm not sure our garden will get as far as I was hoping tomorrow.

LT for commiseration. I'm not sure what the worst worry is. But, the disappointment of no help after expecting it all day stinks. I hope everyone cooperates and goes down without a fuss for you. And that YH is better by the morning and the weekend isn't a complete washout.

Man.. C's naps were still all over the place when I was on leave. He was just starting to extend his awake time to 3+ hours but now I have no idea what he does. The past two days he didn't nap good for my mom or MIL. I'm curious how he'll be tomorrow. It's our first weekend after a full week at work.
ClassyMrsA The man-flu has graciously entered my house as well. The sounds of absolute pain and agony in ever.single.movement is absolutely....how would you say...exaggerated. Lawd help me.

The dramatics of the man cold get old very quickly
Noooo! I'm so sorry. M gets a dry cough when her teething gets particularly bad. I think from the extra drool? Hits the wrong pipe occasionally? I gave her Tylenol at bath time because she wouldn't stop punching herself in the face and then giving me the saddest boo boo lip because she'd hurt herself. I'm not ready to see her with teeth, but so over this teething nonsense.
D went down at 9 and was up twice by 11. At that point I said eff it. She slept in bed with me the rest of the night. Two more wakeups to eat but I can handle that.
So I guess now I go to bed when she does. Awesome.
J was up 4-5 times last night and up for the day at 6:05am. I have been using the boob as a soothing method cause she doesn't take anything else, so she triggers a let down and eats each time, like every 2-2.5 hrs. I need to stop this right, that's too much eating for night? i need to her her attached to a lovey of some sort.
Happy 5 months J, you've been making the sleep rules this far but that's about to stop. Sorry little lady, but Mama needs sleep.
Ditto. I'm starting sleep training after we get back from Easter travel. I've been trying to push a lovey too.
Lilah has two. One is a Winnie the Pooh bear/blanket and the other is a teal and gray elephant like the one hangry has. We use them for nap time. Bedtime she doesn't have one. If she starts wanting to nurse more over night I might start using it then.
