Feeding dd2 who wouldn't go to bed last night. She just latched without me having to strip her down so I'm really hoping she will take the other side and then go back to sleep so feeding takes less than an hour for a change..
Dd1 just woke up and was sitting in bed singing. Thank God H is home at night so handle her, idk how people handle 2 kids alone!
Glad H heard DD 1 kaits8. Mine doesn't hear anything 10 pm - 8 am (exaggerating). Hope you get back to sleep soon!
L just gave a 4.5 hour stretch. FX she does it again, without grunting. We have a local Easter egg hunt for the older two at 10, so I'm already trying to time up feedings, shower, etc. Why won't my mind turn off?

Quoting you in hopes that some of that 4.5 hour stretch juju will rub off on DS!
Up feeding hiiiiii. Now I have an old Billy Joel song stuck in my head, but I think maybe I'm showing my age/uncoolness because it's not at all the song you're referencing.
About 30 min after I get DS down and fall asleep the damn tornado sirens start going off. It isn't even raining here, definitely no tornados. Turns out they are malfunctioning across the city and they are having to shut them off manually. This is at midnight, and in Dallas; they said it could take up to 3 hours. Geeze.

Uggghhh that sucks. H set off the smoke alarms today and baby wasn't phased. I would be worried except that he passed his hearing test this morning so...I guess he just doesn't mind shrill beeps?
Second attempt at getting him in his bassinet and he throws up within seconds. He had been sleeping fine in his RNP for an hour. Why can't he just sleep flat on his back!?
Now we are back on the couch while he sleeps on chest and I watch terrible tv.

DD slept 5 hours! I woke up at hour 3 because the antibiotics that are supposed to help my itchy ass are making my entire upper body itch. They have made my ass issues go away at least but I still have 2 days left. So, they are giving me a rash and making DD miserable.

If he will sleep in the RnP then put him back in there unless there is a reason you don't want him too.
DS was a noisy night sleeper tonight. (He's usually super quiet at night.) Every 45 mins to an hour, he'd make enough noise to wake me. After a minute or two, when I'd be about to get up, he'd stop and go back to sleep. So even though he slept for 3.5-4 hours, I was awake almost every hour. I'm tired.
H and I ate going out without baby tonight got the first time. My parents are watching C while we go to a wedding. We always joked with this couple (they ate our default couple, whenever w do something with another couple, it's them) - he'd propose when we got pregnant. They got engaged shortly before we told them we were expecting, and C is a month old now and they get married tomorrow. I'm excited to get out of the house for a few hours and have some time with h. It definitely helps that my parents are the ones watching C.

Now I'm up for the day with DS. DH is off to work. DD is still sleeping and my left boob needs her to get up soon. For now I'm enjoying time with my first baby. I'm taking him to a community Easter party later while my mom watches DD.

DD got the all clear yesterday from the pedi to go longer than 3 hours without nursing. We ended up with a lovely 4 hour chunk of sleep last night, plus a few shorter cycles.
I also had my 2 week incision check yesterday. Unfortunately, the upper layers of my wound still haven't healed fully, so I have to take it extra easy for another week. We also got my placenta pathology report back and it confirmed that it's a very good thing that we had the emergency section. There were signs of placental abruption and a mild infection. I'm so very thankful that E is a thriving outside baby.
I still need to talk to my OB about what the placenta problems means for any future pregnancies. We are about 80% sure we are two and through and this may seal the deal.
Well that 5 hour non stop feeding bought me a 4 hour chunk and a 2 hour chunk so I finally got some sleep after a couple rough nights. I'm just hoping with the amount she eats every day that she's back at birth weight at her two week check. She lost a lot the first couple days and since her brother took a long time to gain it back (he was healthy, just slow gain) I worry about it.
Sirens went off for good about 45 min after they started. How ridiculous though. Our 911 system was busted a few weeks ago. So much for emergency management systems working. This city needs to get their act together.
mosdub, it is pretty common for babies and children to not wake for noises like fire alarms. That is why many new smoke detectors also have a voice warning in addition. Kids tend to wake better to that.
mls5871 omg I would've been livid - glad they didn't take 3 hours to stop!
mosdub thank you for replacing the random song in my head. Lately I keep waking up with songs I haven't heard in ages in my head, and I usually only know a small chunk. Today was Mambo No. 5.
After a great day yesterday, DD was fussy last night and took a lot of prep to fall asleep. I can't tell this morning if she's fussy again or if she'll be reasonable.

Flew with DD to Detroit on Wednesday for a hockey tourney. I was supposed to fly home today and my husband was driving with our friends. My flight was cancelled and moved to late tomorrow. We are now road tripping with a very little baby...not fun.
seadragon2013 I hope you heal quickly this week and don't have any further issues!
@justinslovo fighting with insurance is the worst. Sorry you're dealing with it.
I'm currently waiting on DS to doze off so I can try to take a nap. I didn't sleep great last night, and because of the wedding later today, I won't get my normal afternoon nap. DS likes to fight morning naps (doesn't fuss, just hangs out wide awake), so I'm hoping he'll cut me some slack today.
