Lazy Sunday for us. I have a photography class for moms this afternoon. I got a DSLR right before M was born and never took a class like I had planned. A family photographer at the babypalooza event last weekend was advertising this class and I decided to sign up. I hope it's worth it.
Good luck, vinolove! You're going to be great. You're my new inspiration since you said you've been adulting like a boss. I think I'll try it!
@surelycantbesrs The worst part is the enabling, I know from experience with MIL that the bullshit gets better if someone is willing to call them on it. It's so frustrating. I'm sorry. The last part of your post made me laugh because it reminded me of the time Pete told MIL we won't be able to visit DAILY anymore because of the baby, and she cried and said she needed him. Pete said, "mom, the baby needs me." She actually tried to argue that she had more needs than a newborn. LOL No.
X said his first word Friday but I'm kind of in denial because it wasn't "mama."
He said it twice as my mom heard it also so I guess I have to concede it's real.
Dude has been really into AC/DC lately and likes to tell Xander to pretend he's Brian Johnson. Last night, he went over to his Simba doll and told it "we're AC/DC, and you're LION Johnson." Too cute.

That class sounds great, esp. since it's geared towards shooting families and not, like, animals of the Arctic. We have contemplated a DSLR camera before, but never pulled the trigger, partly b/c I think my pictures would still look like my cell phone pics--fine, but nothing special. If we ever do get one (and I think about it every time I go to schedule family/kid photos), I need to commit to a class or two to learn how to use it.
LizInFL She sounds like my younger sister, who still hasn't met Z and she's 15 months old now. My sis lives in Denver so it's pretty far, but she's been home to Chicago a zillion times and to Mexico a few times since Z was born.
Oh wow, that's crazy. And sad for her, and you. I can't imagine being that way with my sister's kids.
I get not wanting to get sick--who does?--but there was still one child here (who's she's only seen once) that was perfectly healthy and she could've spent time with. I think she just wanted an excuse to get back.
So I'm really going to focus on releasing it, and just accept that this is the way she is and in the future, if it's convenient for us and we don't have to do anything extra, great--we can see her. But if not, oh well...I'm not bending over backwards anymore, and I'll feel zero guilt if she complains to my ILs or H.

She started vomiting up the water and her equalibrium was off. I found a vet clinic open today that was able to fit us in. I'm glad she is no longer in pain, but it still really effing sucks. Unfortunately, I had to take Cadence with me because mh wasn't home and I didn't have anyone to watch her. She asked a few questions, but did ok until we got out to the car and she started sobbing because we weren't bringing her home with us. I miss my cat.
California is fantastic. The wedding was so beautiful. The bride's family was so welcoming (we are friends of the groom.) Today we went wine tasting, to lunch, and walking around town. Now sweating out my drunkenness poolside before dinner with an old friend of DH's who lives in the area. Our plans leaves 6 am tomorrow so enjoying our last few hours.
Hi guys. I'm wiped. Party went well. In laws spent the night and left around noon. Then our friends who couldn't make it to the party came over for a few hours and we served them leftovers since we have a ton. H had more cake for dinner tonight and now doesn't want to sleep. He is upstairs crying and keeps wanting more books. I don't want to get off the couch. I'll give Him a few minutes
Hey guys, sorry I haven't been around today. I spent most of the day painting and my hands are now killing me. All of the rooms have 2 coats so after a few touch ups painting is done!! Family room
