Guys...I just found voicemail from last May from the MFM nurses telling us that we were having a girl. Feels. Oh my gosh. I'm saving it to the cloud so that I can listen to it on repeat until the end of time.
waitwhat I love when they just nuzzle in like that. I remember when he was just a tiny thing that fit perfectly. Now he hardly sits still and is tumbling all over the place when I hold him. Seems like such a big kid.
vinolove That's really sweet. C did the opposite to me on Thursday. The first time he reached was towards MH while I was holding him. We both just got to my parents house and apparently he wanted daddy more.
So C hasn't pooped since Friday morning and we're going to church today. There's like a 100% chance he's going to do it there, right? And I'm just thinking of how loud he is when he tries to poop...
Lol goldenlove3. Hoping he holds on for you and goes at home.
I woke up to a husbandless and dogless house. I knew he was going running, but I thought he'd at least say goodbye. Got the girls dressed, Lillian her breakfast, and cleaned the floor where the cat tracked something across the wood. I'm finally sitting down to eat my breakfast. We have bookclub at my mom's this afternoon and then she's going to make us dinner. I might try to work on the other front bed once DH gets home. If he can go run, he can help me with it.
Lilah is being extra fussy lately and spent most of last night in my bed. I swear she nursed like 10 times. Ugh. I hope it was a one off and she's better tonight. And her scooting around is giving her a diaper rash. I cannot put enough stuff on it to reduce the friction. Speaking of her apparent crawling, for the first time ever, I said "What does Lilah have?" last night.
goldenlove3 good luck, maybe he'll be polite and go beforehand C was way overdue and I've been so nervous the last couple days waiting for the inevitable grunting/gurgling/overflowing diaper. It finally happened at brunch yesterday, but thankfully the restaurant was noisy!
@sarahwithanh please tell me you're feeling better today?
cheshie6 IIRC, your husband is home right now and safe? I thought of you two reading the news this morning.
Oh no! goldenlove3! Thanks for reminding me to restock the extra clothes for my diaper bag....
waitwhat and vinolove it has got to be the best feeling ever. M even has a little sigh she does when she snuggles up to me. And the smiles every morning when she first sees me...The. Best.
I didn't even think about crawling and diaper rash ClassyMrsA. Poor girl. Is this something normal that lasts until they start walking?
So he pooped before I changed him into his nice clothes. Then with 10 minutes left to finish getting ready myself, H took him down to get him in his car seat and get the car ready. 5 minutes later he ran upstairs with him and said he started grunting and yup, pooped again. So we're going to be late but at least he got it out now.
sophiegrace I'm assuming it's from scooting and dragging herself. It's up on the front, not her bottom so that's why I'm guessing that. I don't think it's a common issue. It could be from something else, too.
I was up with H a million times last night. I finally just sat in the rocking chair with him from 3-5. He just kept coughing. I hate it when they're sick like this. I feel so helpless. And tired. Very very tired.
Poor guy I hope tonight is better for both of you!
Home from mall/church/lunch! Lol we went to church and DH decided he needed a new Red Sox hat, while there, we saw infant baseball hats so L got one Red Sox and one Yankees! Lol. A lot of kids were there dressed up for the Easter Bunny! I honestly don't remember that being a thing for my family so I decided L didn't need the trauma yet! We'll save that for Aulani in September see him scream at Mickey!
I'm really nervous for DH tomorrow, darn terrorists!
cheshie6 what a time for your H to be heading that way; prayers for smooth travels and safety while he's there.
Sorry for the rough night and that H is still so sick tgrimes1980. FX tonight is better. On a random note, I'm bummed TWD is over...just when it was getting good again...
DH just left so he should be home in 45 min or so. We are doing pizza tonight bc #lazy. I kept the kids alive and happy but otherwise haven't done much today besides eat, research strollers and let B watch too much TV. Thankfully he seems to be feeling better and is well on his way to returning to his normal status as a human garbage disposal.
Speaking of strollers...anyone here have the City Mini or Britax B-Agile? And if yes, thoughts? I'm going to go test them this week. Also, I see that City Mini also has a GT/all-terrain version. I'm trying to decide if I need that instead. If anyone has that one I'd love to get your thoughts too!

Hey everyone. I have been having a hard time keeping up since starting back to work. I am hoping that now that I have my childcare back again I'll have a little bit of breathing room and can participate more again!
cheshie6 - Prayers for your DH - willl be thinking of you!
LizInFL - We have a City Mini GT single and double. Love, love, love and (IMO) worth every penny. I feel like strollers are one thing that you get what you pay for (to a certain point) and I just love how easy they are to maneuver and fold (especially if I'm by myself). The GT is nice because the wheels are a little bigger, never need inflating, and go over all different terrains without any issues.

Thanks, that is awesome to hear! All the reviews I've read for the City Mini/GT are great; that is kind of what I was leaning towards, assuming I like it when I 'test drive' it.
The GT is appealing because--while I am not not a super outdoorsy person--I like to take walks, go to the playground and B's soccer games, etc, so I can see where the all-terrain features would come in handy.
waitwhat sending sleep vibes your way. They aren't here so they have to be somewhere.
I have now had multiple breakdowns over going back to work on Thursday now that D has suddenly decided she hates sleep. I don't know how this can possibly work and I'm terrified.

What is going on with these babies lately? It seemed everyone was on a very slight upward swing since the regression and then they changed their minds.
dashook THIS Thursday?! Seriously how the F did that happen. I'm so sorry you have to worry and I wish I could offer some sort of helpful advice. I'm sure it's not any easier coming off the tail end of a wicked cold.
cheshie6 I'll be praying for safety for your H in these coming weeks. My brain just can't process such terror. I do at least realize how lucky I am to be able to say that. Should he be relatively safe while he's there?
I hope you wake up rested and feeling better @sarahwithanh. From a fellow nurse, thank you for giving that nursing student permission to work with M. I am still thankful for each and every one of my patients that allowed me to care for them during nursing school.
sophiegrace, he says he should be relatively safe. He says once he lands, he goes to a secure hotel until he get the helicopter to ship! I'm still nervous 😩

I would be too. I am so sorry. It's just unreal to me that this stuff is still going on in this day and age.
Once again, I realize I'm showing my privilege, but damn these actions are just so far removed from what my brain can fathom.
@sarahwithanh I'm sure that was a really hard, yet really easy decision. It's sucks to be losing another part of yourself but this is what your family needs right now. Things will change some day. Maybe find something small to help give you a sense of self. Even a lunch with some friends may give you some rejuvenation.
waitwhat So much to sleeping in one position. I hate my left side these days
cheshie6 I'll be thinking about your H's safety. You get to talk to him when he's gone, right?
Don't anyone stalk me; magical sleep unicorn is not here.
So I changed into my pj shorts last night before I fed E (again) at 930. Then I put her in the bassinet and went to bed. She woke up again at 1130 and I had no shorts on?! I felt around everywhere and even put on my flashlight. They were no where.
At some point in my life I would smile at the crazy sex life that led me to losing my shorts. Now, I'm just confused. Where did my shorts go?!

I'm sorry. I was worried about it, too. The truth is, you're a bamf and you'll push your way through it. There's no other choice.

@sarahwithanh that is so strange!! There was a similar experience with a girl in my class who ended up not making it through school. It was during labor and delivery and she completely lost it when the mom-to-be was in pain during her unmedicated birth. It was..shocking.
ETA: too bad you can't do a little something with your teaching abilities at the hospital. I hope you find something to enrich yourself with that's all for just you.
@sarahwithanh I'm sorry. I can tell how much you love teaching. I'm glad you have an understanding and supportive administration. I have all my classroom stuff in large plastic bins in our guest closet and the garage. I probably have way less than you since I didn't keep everything. I wasn't sure I'd be going back so I got rid of a bunch of things. I have my files, teaching books, classroom library, rugs, curtains, some student work/things they gave me like pictures, signs and decor, and some of my center activities. My mom recently changed jobs and had her classroom in a small storage unit as she has 20 yrs of stuff, but if course that has a monthly fee.
