Today is supposed to be gorgeous here! I'm hoping the cold weather is gone for good. I was beginning to have flashbacks to my previous 2 maternity leaves (dec baby, Jan baby)! They were awful.
Also, we received L's newborn pics from the photographer. If I share one on here using Tapa, what size image do I choose? I don't know how to do a spoiler with the app. (Or at all, honestly)
C slept & fed marvellously last night. My body is not sure what to do with this extra sleep. Today we take he for a follow up on some (likely residual hormone related) swelling. But we are also going to talk about her freaky eye movement yesterday. Telehealth said it was non-emergent (I was hoping they'd say normal) but to get her checked out.

I bought brewers yeast and flaxseed for lactation cookies, and I starting making them a while back. But I'm eating way too many and I keep baking them because I have the special ingredients so why not. I need one of those feeders on a timer like they have for pets, but it would just dispense a few cookies a day for me (instead of a few cookies 6 times a day).

Also in the low supply at the end of the night, DD gets super frustrated but it seems not much makes her happy in the 2 hours before bedtime so I was thinking witching hour. She hates her paci then she wants to just be on the nip but just latches and relatches and cries. My DS did this too so I just accepted it since she eventually calms down eats and falls asleep.
I'm still considering doing mothers milk tea or some supplement to get the supply up since she has been eating more lately too.

@mountonrouge you can do smoothies too, there's a ton of recipes w those ingredients on Pinterest. But I agree it's so hard not to eat all the cookies haha
moutonrouge, I have all the ingredients for cookies too but it doesn't look like I necessarily NEED to make them for my supply (I had an oversupply last time so I'm not surprised). I'm seriously tempted to make them anyways though b/c they are SO good! I used to eat WAY too many of them last time..no wonder I finally lost the baby weight after I stopped making them.

Refund is decent but not enough to pay off the truck. I should really be thankful it's not since I'm self employed and should have to pay taxes rather than get money back.

Up and at 'em! Max has graced me with long sleeps the last few days, and I'm seriously a whole new person. It's weird having one of the older babies this time around on a BMB!
My sister and BIL are coming in a week, and they will be the final guests in our guest room. It's going to be our toddler's room, and Max is moving into the nursery. I'm so excited! Both to have my room back, and to paint/decorate the toddler bedroom.
caer I hope the appointment goes well, and nothing that requires surgery is going on. (Just got to your update- so happy!)
elsmom I also get a lot less milk in the evening. Tonight, I plan to drink more water, and eat a bit more for dinner. I'm actually not sure I'm getting enough calories.
caer thanks for the comment! It's nice to hear from you STM that it will get pretty awesome.
renegadewhit I'm having the duct cleaned today, and our people also arrived at 8 am. I've already finished the caffeine we have in the house, and I'm still tired. I may load DD up and run out for one more coffee!
ugaqueencity ah! I'm so jealous. Our gym won't take the babies til 12 weeks, so basically when I go back to work and don't need them anymore.
erinshelley21 we have paid every year since we got married. (Even with both of us withholding at the 0 rate). I'm hoping the new addition at least allows us to break even next year! 😂
mosdub Have you started listening to S-town? I'm on episode 3 and am pretty meh about it.
Not yet. That's too bad that it's not as riveting . I haven't heard a lot of buzz about S-Town
I'm on episode 4 and I actually like it! It's not what I expected. I thought it would be true crime but right now it's more of a character study. I really like the host's style.
Hope this works! Thanks for the instructions, @justinslovo! Here is a sneak peek at a couple of pics from Lucy's NB session. I love the way they turned out! And I want to cry because C, who was *just* born, looks so grown up!
kristhegirl what are you doing for the toddler room? Have you chosen a paint color?
@priss08 take all the sleep you can get!
ladytiffany24 one of my good friends used that book and her son was on a schedule really quickly. I'm definitely intrigued by it. She said I can borrow hers and I'm thinking it would be easier to be on a routine now versus trying to come up with one once I go back to work.

That's my thought. I don't want to be too rigid but I'm going to use it as a general guideline. My hope is that it will also help with longer stretches of sleep at night too which I've read is one of the perks.
Oddly enough in just skimming through some of it, we are pretty close to the timing with some of the typical schedule for B's age so I'm hoping the transition will be smooth. The roughest part is going to be when my toddler is home with me (we still send her to the sitters most days to make sure she maintains her routine). H and i will also have to adjust to our normal nightly routine as well because MOC calls for a nightly bath for baby that's right in the middle of when h and I have our time on the couch at night to catch up on our shows. Lol. I'm hoping it will all be worth it!

muskiefan I think I have a paint color. This is my inspiration color palette:
I need to settle on a rug and some kind of chair in there - we gave a glider in the nursery that Elena loves, but it's ugly (plus I'll use it with Max.) I'm on the hunt for a not expensive rocker glider. Then wall stuff! Furniture is dark wood.

I would do bath time when it works for you. But then I'm deeply suspicious of schedules for babies. Routine? Yes. Schedule? No. Babies don't tell time.

kristhegirl, Yes, I should clarify. I'm working on getting into a routine vs a schedule. I agree that routine is the way to go rather than a schedule. I'm also not super opposed to the daily bath because its one of the things that helped us get into a great nighttime routine with DD.

I meant I wouldn't give up hangout time for baby bath time! At least, if I could help it.

Ahhh yes. Gotcha. Yea, we won't give it up completely! We may just push it back a little.
At the doctor with DD. She bumped her head and seemed fine yesterday, but today she isn't her normal self, so we are getting her checked out. I am very glad that DS is content looking around the waiting room for now.
corinne sorry the weekend was rough. I've only got one little one, but my H was really frustrated yesterday that the baby wasn't being chill like normal. Sometimes they make it worse!
suelou18 hope dd is ok, and it's nothing to worry about!
Last night was a bit better than the night before but we were up 4:30-6:30 without going to sleep. T is still fighting a cold and at 2 weeks I believe a growth spurt. I miss my 3-4 hour stretches of sleep

DD and I are back home. I spent way too much money at kohls on clothes for DS but nearly all of his shirts are too short and he had about 1 pair of shorts that he could wear for practices and playing.

I prefer the lactation bites (in a ball rather than cookie) so I can feel better about eating 2 at a time. I really need H to make more this week when he is off work.
I also need him to start doing dishes again but that's another thing.
