I'm sorry things have been rough corinne. I can relate to what you said about your H. I'm sure they will figure out the new normal eventually. It's a huge adjustment for everyone.
At the doctor with DD. She bumped her head and seemed fine yesterday, but today she isn't her normal self, so we are getting her checked out. I am very glad that DS is content looking around the waiting room for now.
muskiefan I think I have a paint color. This is my inspiration color palette:
I need to settle on a rug and some kind of chair in there - we gave a glider in the nursery that Elena loves, but it's ugly (plus I'll use it with Max.) I'm on the hunt for a not expensive rocker glider. Then wall stuff! Furniture is dark wood.
I LOVE that combo! Hope you can find an inexpensive glider. Those things can be so pricey (but also worth it for the amount of time spent in them).
moutonrouge, I have all the ingredients for cookies too but it doesn't look like I necessarily NEED to make them for my supply (I had an oversupply last time so I'm not surprised). I'm seriously tempted to make them anyways though b/c they are SO good! I used to eat WAY too many of them last time..no wonder I finally lost the baby weight after I stopped making them.
I don't need them for my supply now - I made them before my milk came in and ended up with an oversupply. Now I make them just because they're yummy. Although since I eat like 10 a day who knows.
We had a wonderful first pediatrician appointment! We love our doctor. L is already up and a little beyond his birthweight and he's only 5 days old! We have another appt on Friday to weigh in again and make sure he's still gaining at a healthy rate. Also sounds like his manhood situation isn't too serious, we will just have to wait and see as he gets bigger if he will need any minor procedures
Thanks for the support, ladies! We made it thru the appointment without any tears! sterl724 he will be 4 weeks on Wednesday and as of this morning weighs 9lbs 4oz! The LC said he's doing great and took 3+ oz during this morning's weighted feed. And she said we should keep supplementing like we have been at night and maybe a little more in the afternoon to see if it helps me have a little left in the evening (since it should cut back his cluster feeding a little). And she seems good with me just pumping once or twice a day. Overall it was the best LC appt I've ever had and I feel super positive about things now! Such a strange feeling for me, but I'll take it. The LC also said that 4 oz was normal (or at least ok) for that evening feed if it seemed like that's how much he wanted.
. I'm impressed! I had a dentist appointment and cancelled it. I was nervous DD wouldn't chill in her carrier that long, and I wasn't sure how I would be able to comfort her. In retrospect, I wish I had just gone. She was much more chill then.
kristhegirlcallmeKD do either of you follow those "leaps" babies go through? It says they are based off off due date, and not delivery date, but I think we are going through a leap now, and she's not "supposed" to start showing signs for another 2 weeks. I was just wondering your experience with 35 weekers.
corinne I'm sorry you're having a tough time and I totally feel you on the 2 year and 3 week combo. Last week after a rough day with many toddler meltdowns, DH came home from work and was shorter with DD than usual. I told him that on his work days, when he got home he had to be the patient one because I had been doing my best all day to be patient with her. I think that actually resonated with him because he's been much better with her since then. Of course it's only been a few days, but still! suelou18 I hope all is ok with your daughter and that your son stays content for you!
Everyone is home and sleeping. Some kind of virus with a bump to the head. The best news we could have gotten. DS was happy baby and then slept until we got home. Thanks to everyone for the kind thoughts.
glb30 I read the leaps as a guideline last time, but not sure it ever lined up. I noticed the same thing with dates for DS who was a 36 weeker, so I don't know how useful it will be.
Is there a 6w growth spurt? L has been eating every 2 hours and napping like shit today. She normally feeds every 3-4 hours and naps pretty well.
I just want to nap so badly. I think she is finally sleeping for real but DS is going to wake from his nap any second now. I spent his entire nap feeding her and trying to get her down. This is why I hate when my H is like "but you can NAP since you SAH." Ok, tell your kids that cause it doesn't look like they got the simul-napping memo!

I really wanted to start walking today but DD actually napped for an hour somewhere other than me and now ds will be home in 15 minutes. By the time I got my shoes on and DD loaded in the stroller I would be able to walk for... like 3 minutes lol

I was thinking this myself. DD has been eating like mad.

Yes, there's usually a growth spurt around 6 weeks. If I remember right there's roughly 3, 6 and 12 week ones.

I'm pretty sure there is. DD is eating at every 2-3 hours, rather than 4, and not napping well. (For me at least, my mom is there now and she has been napping the whole time!)

I don't follow them but I know about them. Glancing at the charts online I'd say Max seems maybe in between the 5 and 8 week leaps.

I actually think this may be a growth spurt and not a leap. After I looked at the "abilities," I realized DD developed them like a week ago! I don't think the book will be super helpful w the dates being all screwed up.
I read the Wonder Weeks book and app with DS1 and the leaps usually didn't line up. I donated the book when we moved and don't feel the need to follow along again.
In other news, when DS2 is awake, he is grunting. His three states are asleep, eating, and grunting.
Plusalso, I am super frustrated with my postpartum body. I have zero shirts that fit. I tried on a shirt that I wore exactly this many days after having DS2 and it was NOT pretty. I spent years in therapy dealing with body image issues and I feel them all creeping back with a vengeance.

bookish my body is not where I want it to be, either. I wonder if pregnancies so close together throw a wrench in things. I'm trying to just be patient and get healthier with my eating and activity level, and not look too closely at my body just yet. It's so hard, though.

Ds always lined up with the wonder weeks based in his due date. If he was being fussy and we ruled out teething or sickness, it was because of a leap 90% of the time.

Oh god you're right. It's all coming back to me now.
It's amazing how parents have selective amnesia about these things.
Brian is sleeping in his bassinet for the first time in two days instead of of in his swing which DH kept putting him in. He can't figure out how to calm him when he's upset, he's tried all the things I do but can't seem to do it. It's frustrating for both of us because I end up having to take care of him like 90% of the day and 100% of the night. He really does try, and he wants to do more but B is so hectic in the evenings when DH is home.
Also we're supposed to go to church for Easter and I have no clothes that fit my post pregnancy body. I made the mistake of trying on real people pants at the store the other day... It was horrible.
