Maybe I'm an outlier on this but I primarily have H in preschool this year for social reasons. The learning part is just bonus. She's a social girl and missed having kids to play with all the time after being in daycare full time.
Honestly, Sam's favorite thing to play with is the squeeze bottle thing I took from the hospital after I had Ben (I think it's called a sizth bath?). He loves to fill it with water then squeeze it on himself. Over and over again.
We have a tub full of toys and that's what he wants to play with the most. We did just get those tub crayons that draw on skin or on the walls of the tub and those were fun for a little bit.
In other news, Ben discovered tupperware the other day.
Remind me why we spend money on toys??
Peri bottle
Thank you. I have found since Ben has been born that I forget common words. All the time. It's embarrassing.
I have no choice b/c I work, so both my kids are in day care and they all have pretty large preschool components. I started a thread a few weeks ago b/c I am just not sure what is important at this age and which place he should be going to.
I still have not decided and I literally change my mind every single day. Friday I was about to put a deposit down on a new place, and by yesterday I was convinced that where he is now is the best place.
It's something I feel like I could talk about for hours and hours (and my poor friends probably think I do). These decisions are so tough b/c there is no way to know what the right choice for your child will be and I think the answer is probably different for every child.
Chase has been sleeping far better lately (knock on all the wood) and Colin slept straight through last night too, so I'm feeling freakishly rested. Colin hasn't woke up dry in a few mornings but I'd guess he pees once in it? A couple weeks ago, we were changing his sheets 2-3 times a week from him peeing right through. He's getting more out before bed and when he wakes up. He's also been napping without a pull-up and pooping on the potty far more reliably, so I'm perfectly happy with his progress. Now Chase needs to get through that period where he WANTS to stand and walk, but instead just falls constantly. Poor kiddo is so frustrated!
It's a 4 day work week for me and I'm sending the boys to daycare on Friday. I have exciting plans of a long run, lunch with DH and a trip to the salon. CANNOT WAIT.
Ugggghhhh! DH just texted me that we need to replace our roof. We had a hail storm last month that caused a lot of damage in our neighborhood. Our roof isn't too bad except for one spot, but they can't match the shingles so we have to replace it all. I mean, it could be worse... at least we only have to pay our deductible, but now I'm not sure how this will affect the mudroom remodel I want. boo.
slenle Augh. That sucks! Another roofing company wouldn't be able to match them?
I don't think so, but that's a good question. It was actually the insurance adjuster who said they can't be matched. And they don't want to admit that if they don't have to!

This was me in March. Like exactly, but I only had a week to decide in order to reserve his spot. Not cool. I still have until end of May to pull him from the new school, but I lose a $400 deposit. 😕

Thanks for the input on bath toys. M has a few, but they're in bad shape. He mostly wants to play with a littte bucket he got from a party, and he always wants to bring his instruments in the bath. I let him bring the plastic, non electronic things, but most of his instruments can't go in water.

klongoria11 He has a set of the Alex toys water drums, but they lasted a few weeks before they broke. I'm skeptical to buy the other set because of that, but I might try it. Thanks for the suggestions.
vinolove M makes hot choclate with his bucket and a teacup from his play kitchen. He always wants me to "drink" it so he can scream "It's Hot!!!!", at which point I drop the cup and tell him my lips are on fire. He blows on them and cracks up laughing. Rinse and repeat 100000000 times

I've been looking at that for some time. I think he might like those. There is another set like it in a different brand that may be better because it has gears and things that turn, too. Doing research...

Ugh. I hate spending $ on stuff like that. The joys of home ownership...

Do bath crayons/markers stain? We rent and I don't want to damage someone else's investment. I also am #lazy so I would hate the clean up on a daily basis.

OMG, my cousin got laid off and is now selling make up or something out of her home. She started a fb group, which I somehow got automatically added to and she is literally posting every 30 minutes. Dude, I don't need to see a close up of your gigantic lips every 30 minutes just because you wiped off the old color and applied a new one! BLOCK!

We found out today we need a new roof as well. The roofing company that came out told me it might take some convincing, so I told him to be at our house at 11 today to meet the adjuster. H took time off to be there and the adjuster said our roof is in bad shape (original, so 15 years old). The roofing company guy never showed. Not excited to spend $1000 (deductible) for a roof, I could think of LOTS of other things, but it needs to be done.
We can wallow in our roofing sadness together.
Yes, I will wallow with you. Does that involve wine? Our deductible is $2500. yikes. Who agreed to that??? Obviously DH... since he is our insurance agent. Way to go DH.
But I did learn that the hail damage my car got in the same storm can go under that deductible also. We weren't going to get it fixed since its not too bad, but we might as well now.

I don't know how you made it this long without knowing someone who does this. I have 2 who sell the same or a very similar product. It is annoying.
As someone who does direct sales, I try not to be obnoxious, I post once, maybe twice, a month about what I sell. And I sometimes question if I'm being annoying then!
There are other people who do it, but it doesn't bother me. Once a day, sure fine, but she is seriously being obnoxious about it. I don't need it all over my fb feed and ig feed. I left the group. I didn't want to since she's family, but seriously, no. I also don't like that she just added me to this group without asking my permission. Ask if I want to joint he group, don't just add me. I don't even wear make up!
klongoria11 I don't like how Facebook automatically adds you to these groups. All of a sudden I'm getting notifications for all of these groups I'm supposedly in. Didn't you used to have to accept these invitations? I had 3 or 4 FB friends start selling lipsense within a week. Talk about annoying.

I didn't even know you sold anything, so you're definitely not annoying in my book! A couple posts a month is fine!
mwhipple77 your occasional posts are one of the least offensive things I can think of on my FB feed.
It seems to me that the people I know who sell R+F or Beachbody also decided to increase their non-sales post frequency 1000% when they started selling. People that I used to see something from every so often, now post multiple times daily. I kind of wonder if that's part of their training/strategy, to increase social media presence in general and not just about their product.

Happy Monday all! We just got back from camping. It was overall an fabulous weekend, with one MAJOR exception..
***possible trigger***
On the first day we were all set up and the kids were playing in the water. The three big kids were kayaking and the three four littler kids were playing in the water on the shore line. All the adults were sitting right on the shore and my brother was in the water waking around with my two year old niece. She stumbled and fell and started screaming and we thought she was mad because she was wet, but when my brother lifted her up her hand was covered with blood. I grabbed a first aid kit thinking she just cut it, but one look and I told my brother it was super deep and she probably needed stitches. So he, my niece, her mom and my parents headed to urgent care. Well, she ended up needing surgery, she had sliced two tendons and a nerve in her poor little finger. We went back to we here she fell and found a huge shard of glass from a smashed beer bottle. To top it off, this is my brother who just moved from France and starts his new job in a few weeks... so no insurance.
