Sorry for the sick kids!
Speaking of sleep.... I am so over dd2's early rising. 5:15 is still nighttime in my book, kiddo. I feel like I've been absolutely exhausted the past couple weeks. It's hard to be a fun, engaged mom when I just want to sleep.

Gah! Sick germs be gone! We've dealt with pink eye with DDs 1+2 and a cold for the rest of us. I hope we don't end up with high fevers or projectile vomiting!

FFTC: Every day the girls are at preschool I think of the cool things we can do that afternoon, how much I'm looking forward to seeing them, etc. 5 minutes after we walk in the door they have already driven me so crazy by fighting with each other, arguing with me, whining, and throwing all their crap in the middle of the floor as soon as we walk in the door that I'm ready to turn around and send them back to preschool. Instead of all the cool things I want to do like craft projects or taking lovely spring walks and discovering things in our yard, I spend the afternoon breaking up fights, telling them they can't have ice cream and gummy bears and chocolate as snacks, and generally going insane just trying to keep them alive. 5 minutes after I put them to bed I regret the yelling I did and start making fun plans for the next day. I think this is normal. Tell me it's normal.
No sign of additional puke or low energy. So we are house bound and it's raining ☔️. It's going to be a long day. I already did the Easter projects I'd pinned earlier this week. Apparently they can't self entertain today.
I am living in the wrong city at the moment. I give zero fucks about hockey. While living in a city who's team hasn't made the play offs in 11 years and haven't won in 29. 90% of my Facebook friends are die hard fans. So much hockey on my news feed. Super annoying.
My H is a huge Minnesota Wild fan. We have the game on right now... and it's going into overtime. *yawn*
H hasn't watched hockey in a few years. He's pretty sure the whole thing is fixed. Lucky for me that means I don't have to watch either.
Sorry for all the sick little people! It's cold and gloomy here today. It's supposed to rain/snow later. I'm struggling at the moment. I can feel myself dragging down. I know what I need to do, but I just can't make myself do much of anything other than the basics to keep the kids alive. I'm giving myself the weekend. And speaking of the weekend, we had told H's family that we couldn't make it to easter dinner because of his schedule. The kids and I were going to go to my mom's. But now his schedule has changed and I'm feeling guilty because I would still rather go to my mom's. I would really just rather not deal with his family
sorry for the sick kiddos! DD has been cranky lately and i'm thinking teeth..... it's always the teeth. Her new trick is a meltdown when trying to put her in the car seat. boo.
NellieOleson, sorry about the early wake-up. DD usually wakes up around then but 80% of the time i can get her to fall back asleep nursing. hope your schedule changes soon!
Every once in a while she'll go back to sleep until 6:30 or something, but usually not. Dd1 was the same way until she was 2-ish. I lucked out with the early bird girls.
@mrslolipopb I am finding the bad weather days here particularly hard to deal with. I get pretty depressed and unproductive. Winter just needs to end.
I've been dealing with depression for years, but this ridiculous weather certainly isn't helping, it was rain-snowing all day. I'm letting myself wallow this weekend and starting Monday I'm planning to start looking for another job, and get back to the routine I had started to follow.

At the last minute I took tomorrow off. DS has no school. And I broke down crying on the phone with H about all that had to get done/happen this weekend. I'm hoping an extra day will help. 😣

Glad you took a day for yourself! Sounds like you need it. It's good to take care of yourself sometimes, and I think is a good example for your kids. We all need time to catch up every once in a while. I hope you have a lovely weekend, lady.
scorpioscuba good job to you! Enjoy the day. Are you doing something with ds or just getting caught up? Dd1 still has a fever so today is going to be slow again. I'm going to drag her to dd2 swim lessons, but other than the drive thru book return I don't see much else getting done. I cleaned my kitchen cabinets and floors yesterday so maybe I'll clean in them today so I can say the kitchen has been deep cleaned.

Right before I woke up this morning I was having a dream that I was crying because I was so tired. And then once I was up I was wondering what was taking the coffee so long, and I had forgotten to turn it on. Womp womp.
We have 3 inches of snow so far today. I was going to take the kids to the dollar store, but I still don't have a snowbrush brush in my van, so that's not going to happen. I'll probably do a load of laundry and dishes later. I was also thinking of taking them to the library, just to get out and see if I could find a couple of books. There's a couple of books I'm thinking of reading, but they aren't the kind that I'm likely to read more than once, so I don't want to buy them.
Nothing special today just cleaning up the house and grocery shopping so we can spend the weekend having fun. 😊
Easter egg hunt for the kids Sat morning and then off to Bass Pro Shop for Easter Bunny pics. H and I have a wedding to go to tomorrow evening which I am very irritated about. Who gets married the night before Easter? (People with no kids obvs)
Easter will be a quiet one cooking at home and just being together. I can't wait.

Happy Friday everyone.
What!? No French Press? 😜
Haha. I actually forgot to turn the stove on so my tea kettle would heat up. It was just too complicated to explain it that way. But yes, French press for LYFE.

Is it terrible that I'm planning to color Easter eggs with DS after DD goes to sleep? I feel slightly guilty but she won't know the difference and it will be easier and less messy. Plus 1 on 1 time with DS.

We went out looking at houses today and found three that we really liked! Two in particular. Now I can only hope people are too busy with Easter to house hunt this weekend and we actually get one of these ones! One is reviewing offers Monday, the other one Tuesday. Fingers crossed.
scorpioscuba I don't think it's terrible. I waited until M was asleep to decorate Christmas cookies with S. We don't decorate eggs.
We haven't been able to find our usual kind of chocolate eggs anywhere this year. It's bugging me. I'm going to check one more place tomorrow, but I'm not holding my breath. We're only going to have jelly beans and gross candy eggs. Bummer. On the plus side, my mom always buys EVERYONE a chocolate bunny. Except herself. She doesn't like candy much.

I didn't get the girls a single chocolate egg or bunny. My mom brought them tons of stuff that they got last week, and my MIL/FIL and grandma-IL usually get upwards of 200 eggs for the grandkids to hunt. Last year there were 4 of hunting age, this year only two (my DDs 1+2). I have no fears that they won't get enough chocolate. Still, the morning basket might be a little disappointing. I'm hoping to distract them with DD1's bday presents because it's also her birthday tomorrow.
People keep talking about Easter baskets for L and her cousin who is 3 mos older. I am kind of rolling my eyes. I mean I am grateful that people would like to give my tiny terror things but please don't give it candy unless you want it to come live with you. That said I look forward to getting her fun spring things for her basket when she is older. Also one of my younger students told me yesterday that she made the easter bunny a basket. I didn't know this was a thing, but I thought it was so sweet! In other news I have Ls cold. And she is still feeling pretty bad herself. 😞hope everyone else's sickies are starting to feel better. Good luck with the houses NellieOleson Lollipop 3" of snow sounds awful I hope it's already melting. Also I didn't mean to downplay your blah feelings to just the weather the other day. Looking back it definitely could have read that way and was not my intention. Depression sucks. We are here for you anytime.

If anyone is interested, that giraffe is giving birth now. It has popped up on my feed for like the last month, and when I just scrolled through FB I saw the hooves sticking out. It's pushing time...
crimsonandclover am I really sour because I really don't care? lol. I do not understand the fascination.
Nope, I don't care either. But when I saw it on my feed this morning (friends like it and then it shows up for me) and saw that the hooves were sticking out, I kept it up on one monitor while I worked on the other, and when she was pushing hard and you could tell it was really close, I stopped working and watched. It was interesting, but nothing I would go out of my way to watch. Going by the (absolutely psycho) comments, though, there were apparently a LOT of people who were way too invested in this giraffe and her baby.
