Wth? lovemyirishtwins. I'm ticked off for you. Hope you can get an appropriate resolution.
I'm in a funk. Wishing my mom would acknowledge me/Caleb's angelversary this week. I know she won't even though I've told her that I need her too. I mean, she was there. She held him, but I know she thinks I should just get over it. Frustrating, and I know I shouldn't let it bother me but it does.

swarley I sent you a pm with the copy of the page that is like what my h signed. They sent home the most bogus IEP. It has draft written everywhere, is mostly pages of her last IEP, has things crossed out. I would have never sent an IEP home in this condition. I would have been embarrassed.
lovemyirishtwins I'm so so angry for you. Ugh. Does this mean she has to switch schools for pre k if you can't get it fixed? No no no
She ages out do the developmental preschool over the summer. Our choices are private preschool or kindergarten. I want the private preschool.
That is why I am so upset. She is being let go from the program after next Thursday with only 9 days left. (She only goes two days a week.) What is the point of that!?! Let her finish the year with her friends.
lovemyirishtwins, the page you sent is interesting- only because it doesn't say anything about dismissing/terminating the IEP.
You said above it was an annual case conference- did you get a meeting invitation to this meeting? Usually on the invite it says exactly what the purpose of the meeting is. Also, invites don't usually say dismissal on- it's either a review, or annual, or eval/re-evaluation.
You wrote this: They are dismissing her with six and a half weeks left in the school year from the program in its entirety. Her last day should have been today but they are keeping her on for the field trip on the 20th since she has been so excited for it. Hmmmmm.....Is she only in the pre-k program because she has an IEP. In MA for public school pre-K you either are in automatically if you qualify for an IEP or you get chosen in a lottery cause your child is a peer model. I can understand if she got in under an IEP but according to them she doesn't need it and shouldn't qualify but with 6 and a half weeks left- that's shady. And technically even if she gets dismissed- I think she still must continue to to receive up to 30 school days after the paperwork is completed. Check wrightslaw.
Also- why didn't the teacher let you know prior to this meeting about how well your child was doing and why didn't the SLP or whomever discuss her progress?
you wrote this: she simply met her goals and is being dismissed. No No No No No you request that she get re-evaluated and prove that her scores are within the average range. And don't let them do basic crummy testing. She's 6 right- do not let them do a PLS-5 and don't accept basic vocab test. Ergh I am so irate for you.

swarley Indiana does not have public pre-k. She is strictly in a developmental program. For a little background on her. Her birthday is 6/2 so she would age out of this program on that date. But the last day of school is May 24th. She was born at 30w4d. She does not have any cognitive delays but has had self help delays and speech.
I can send you the other pages of the IEP that I also sent to lawandorder. I left out six + pages that were from last years IEP.
I had two previous report cards for her. They did not give any indication she was doing this well. I feel like I see my kids in a very objective light. I think that her IEP is bull. There are so many areas I know she received a mastered in that she simply does not have. I work with her often. I also go over everything that comes home. I see no difference in what she does in school vs what she does for me.
I will be looking into wrightslaw before Thursday. Thank you!
It's the week before testing!!!! Yikes. I hate testing. So much to do:/ Today I went on our 6th grade field trip and I was assigned to our most difficult behavior kid. It was rough. Then the rest of the week I'm registering our 6th graders for 7th grade and I have the Staff of the Year Luncheon:) No updates on ex. Literally don't hear a thing from them. His last visit was last week on Tuesday and his next one isn't until Saturday. So, Charlotte will be uncomfortable all over again.
360blessings I'm sorry your mom isn't supporting you through your grief. It's not the same, I know, but you and Caleb have been on my mind recently. 💙
