1.) I have a spring cold, boo. I would love to just sit on the couch and watch Netflix, to bad I have a toddler and work today 2.) I'm kinda excited, kinda nervous for this weekend. Sat. is DD's birthday party and Sunday is Easter she might lose her mind with excitement. 3.)DH and I are starting a serious diet next Monday so right now we are eating everything in the house that isn't healthy to get rid of it :-)
1. I also have a spring cold and I feel terrible. My working out goal is getting replaced with, survive.
2. We're getting a new furnace and air conditioner. We knew it would be necessary eventually and I'm grateful we have the savings, but I can think of a lot of ways I'd rather spend that much money.
3. Should be a beautiful day here. I hope I start to feel better so we can enjoy it.
1) I just got a new project that has an insanely tight time line on it, i am busy 2) The house sale was finalized on this end! So now it's over to the lawyers to do land transfers and stuff but the buyers are confirmed. YAY!!! 3) The weather has been so nice the last few days. And today I'm wearing my new flare jeans, it's the first time wearing non skinny jeans in years
1. I got a low census day at work. DD's at daycare and I can prep everything for Easter and pack for my trip with SD.
2. SD and I are off to NYC tomorrow til Saturday for a mother-daughter trip.
3. Heard back from our lawyer that we should have a date for the termination hearing sometime next week. We are attempting to terminate SD's birth mother's parental rights so I can adopt sd. (She hasn't had contact with birth mother in 3+ years.)
1. Everyone is out this week at work so it is so slowww... 2. Looking forward to having Friday off with DS. I have nothing exciting planned except a haircut for him but it's supposed to be nice out so maybe we'll head to the playground. 3. Last night as we were walking out of DC, DS was in front of me and I couldn't help looking at him and thinking how big he's gotten and how much he's changed in the past year. Sniff, sniff...
1. It snowed 4 inches last night and it's still going. 2. We have 50 baby chickens coming tomorrow. 3. My aunts scheduled my grandpa's burial for this weekend, so we have to travel for Easter. DS1 asks about grandpa and I don't know what to tell him. It's going to be a hard weekend.
1. I'm so looking forward to Friday. We're all of work so it will be a family fun day. Minus my ENT appointment. 2. I have a dentist appointment Monday. Really not looking forward to that. 3. DD has been waking up as I leave for work. Makes me sad, I want to stay home and cuddle in bed with her.
1. Preschool interview for Clara got postponed. 2. I accidentally fell asleep in bed holding T last night 3. I feel off emotionally and I hate it. I hate the PP hormones
1. I got antibiotics last night for this sinus infection. I have a serious sinus headache right now though. My forehead is about to explode. Work, abx, work.
2. I'm irritated about this stupid shower. It'll look bad to the family if I don't go, but I wanted to celebrate DS1's bday that weekend by going out of town. We can't go the weekend before because I signed up for a color run. I guess we'd have to do the weekend after. Lame.
3. I just looked at SIL's registries. They aren't as bad as I expected. But she has a $60 "spa" baby bathtub on it. Also has 2 infant car seats on there...but they only have 1 car. As well as a random Graco car seat base, yet neither of the car seats are Graco.

What car seats did she register for? I'm getting scared about her putting baby into a car seat and driving with it, and I don't even know her.
rainbowsockmonkey Evenflo Embrace LX Infant Car Seat and a travel system from Baby Trend Expedition GLX. Never heard of that brand.
The embrace is an ok carseat to have, but it does require 1.5 in of space between the car seat and the vehicle seat in front of it which can make it incompatible with smaller cars. The baby trend is a horrible car seat, and she needs to run far away from it and never look back. Despite what the limits are on the seat, it doesn't fit most newborns because the lowest slot of the harness is above the baby's shoulders (and needs to be below for RF). Its a very well know issue with the BT car seats.
rainbowsockmonkey, we had a baby trend with the no rethread harness and it fitted his shoulders fine. I hate the angle of it though, he was way too upright and his head flopped forward, we had to use a pool noodle even with the base at the full backwards tilt. But there was no way of tilting it back in the stroller so his head always flopped forward in it. It's the reason we ditched the bucket seat at 4 months

I guarantee that no matter what car seat, they will install and use it improperly. BIL is getting irritated by H and I providing advice. So they are on their own.

1. Super short work week. We get off at noon on Thursday, are off Friday and Monday. AND my mom is taking J for Friday and Monday so I'll just have the baby. I never thought I'd be excited to just have to take care of one kid.
2. I'm working really early today due to a early morning meeting. It's nice to get it out of the way but logistically difficult both with the kids and my office building that doesn't open until 830am.
3. We got our car tabs and it's worse than expected. Voters (not me!) voted to approve expanding light rail here. It will be completed in 2050 something 😐. Meanwhile, it doubled our annual car tabs. One car was $404! The other will be about $375 from what I can tell.

That makes me very sad. Something tells me your SIL will be the one to buy the Minky seat cover set, all the after market inserts and strap covers and use them. I very much hope nothing happens to that poor baby.

I know. But what am I supposed to do when they are so clueless but so unreceptive to advice?

my advice is to just keep sharing the info and maybe something will get through their thick skulls. Maybe even see if your MIL can share some of the same info.

Maybe they don't realize you can use the travel system seat in the car? 🙂Did you read the parenting fails thread on parenting? Wtf to 3 or 4 people who were putting baby's legs through the car seat straps.
athn64 what did you get for the baby's Easter basket? I filled up DS2's really easily but I blanked on DS1's.
Not much. Lol. A baby doll, a new baby plate, a new teether to replace her favorite one that I lost (oops), a couple of books, a couple of pouches, and some puffs.

I was kind of flabbergasted at that. Thank god they never had an accident

I seriously don't know how they got the infants legs apart far enough for that. My babies hips were always so tight at first.
