I think I'm going to go to breastfeeding support group on tuesdays at the hospital that M was born at. It's 30 minutes away but I think it will be worth it and nice to meet new people.
If your baby doesn't sleep in a pack n play do people actually use them? Ours has been sitting in our family room since day one. I thought I'd use it for naps but really it's just a storage bin for burp cloths, diapers, etc. I'm tempted to put it away or take it to my moms or something. I thought I'd use the diaper changer on it all the time but really it's too low and hurts my back. Diapers get changed on the couch or the floor mostly.
Like PPs, we use it as a playpen and also as a crib when traveling. Although the other night my LO did sleep in it. It was 4 a.m. and I set her down in there because I was so fed up with her wakefulness that I had to walk away. She cried for like 5 seconds then fell asleep. I was not expecting that lol
This happened to us once and it was AMAZING. I keep hoping it'll happen again but no dice...

How long without a dirty diaper do I go without worrying? She's on day 4 of life coming up on 5 and she hasn't had a dirty diaper since last night. My milk came in last night....

Number of wet diapers is more important. As long as she's at 4 or 5 wet diapers in 24 hours (going up to 6-8 in the next couple days) she's probably ok. Bf babies can poop a ton or not a lot. The guidelines I have say at least one poop per 24 hours but they seem a little less worried about that than pees. Do you have weight checks or a peds visit coming up?

Tuesday. I just don't want to call yet and be that overly concerned parent. I'm cleaning a lot of mucus and blood too...
I think new new babies are supposed to poop more, but in general bf babies can go up to like 7-10 days without a poop. R regularly went every 5-6 days or so for a while.

Both twins only poop once every 3 or 4 days. It's been that way since their merconiun poops ended. However they have soaked diapers at every feeding (so 6-8 per day). Wet diapers seem to be more of a factor than dirty.

Oh also if she's passing gas and doesn't seem to be straining or in pain then it's probably not a concern. If she's straining, grunting, visibly in pain then she could be constipated. I would doubt that this early tho.

Your baby is tiny and new. Be that parent if you need to!

I regret not going to any or going to see a LC. I always wonder if it would have helped with DS's slow weight gain...

DS was always a once a day. Randomly (and suddenly) he switched to every few days and it made me nervous. Now he's back on once a day. I have read that it's not uncommon for bf babies to go quite awhile between dirty diapers.
Tonight my child will only stop screaming if I'm standing and holding a paci in her mouth.
Ugh 1am to 3am seems to be our worst feeding. She wants me to stand and feed her in football. I think it's time to bring my rocker upstairs. I just took the dog out, fed one last breast in the chair and she was out cold.
