guster how far are you on 13 Reasons? I binged it and finished today. Overall I thought it was very well done. Great acting. A bit over-dramatic and unrealistic at times, but mostly very good.
We're starting this tonight. I'm worried I won't get through it.
And yes, I audibly laughed again at that picture. Like, one day it'll be remember when Goldi's face was orange and we were telling her to throw sugar and isoyl propanol on it in hopes that it would disappear. This is amazing.
ETA: your eyebrows look amazing!
Well, thank you. I do them myself, so really no idea if they're "right."
Re:13 Reasons. I didn't read the book. It covers a lot of heavy material and I know it would be very intense for some. I'm not easily bothered by shows so it was for me for me to binge watch.
I'm still watching Designated Survivor and my fervor is fading. I'll stick with it but I miss Jack Bauer. I need the prez to quit being so passive and start having an active role.
I heard about the disclaimer/ warning? before episode 10 or 11, so we'll see. I usually have to leave to leave the room for those types of scenes. Then I get major anxiety for days. Not sure it's worth it.
We're off to a strong start though with episode one since they played Joy Division.
Hi ladies, sad I missed your poof cagoldi. Hope your face is less orange!
So, I need some advice. We have some good friends who were on an "alternative" vax schedule but who now don't vax at all. So, their 3 year old has a few vaccines and their 1 year old has none. I am not comfortable having S around them when she's born. Has anyone had to do this with friends or family? If so, how long would you keep the new baby away? Until first MMR at 1 or sooner unless there's a measles outbreak? I'm thinking pertussis is the biggest risk, most likely. I don't want to go overboard being paranoid, but I'm definitely not taking the chance exposing a newborn. Ugh.
heymama, that's tough! Personally, right now, I'd wait until s is Vaccinated. H just had his mmr today which was comforting considering Minneapolis now has 8 confirmed cases of measles this week. It was at 3 yesterday and now 5 more today. So scary!
Are their kids in daycare? I don't know where you are but I would be more cautious in a bigger city.
slenle, I didn't know there was a measles outbreak there now. It is so scary! I wish people didn't choose not to vax. I really don't get it. I am in a big city in AZ. Their kids aren't in daycare, but the risk is everywhere, so I'll probably wait until she can get her MMR.
lfigge little Petey is back home and still alive. For now. His vet gave him a few weeks to months left. When Carter heard me tell adam this he cried so hard. My kids are going to be so so sad. But I'm grateful it didn't happen here. That must have been rough. Sorry that happened to you.
Totally unrelated but I know someone here was giving melatonin to help their kid go to bed at night. We tried it and omg. That stuff is amazing! I can't remember who used it but how long did you use it for? We've been using it about 5 nights in a row but I can already see Millie start to get sleepy at 730. I'm thinking we can start to ease off it soon?
We've used it for L. We would use it a couple days in a row and then take a break. Now we only use it occasionally. When he's very wired and we're very tired! Kinda feel like I'm drugging him when we do that, but it works and it's necessary sometimes!
Wait! Am I supposed to be reusing my Easter grass? I throw it out at the end of the Easter "season" and always buy fresh (well, I buy it after Easter to use the next year)
I reuse the grass I bought. I just stick it in a ziplock and store it inside of the Easter basket. When it gets gross I'll toss and get new.
Also, I only remember 1 year that our baskets were hidden, but that's the only vivid Easter memory I have. We spent a lot of them at my grandparents house and I have no clue what they did when we were there. I just leave the girls baskets on the floor in the living room.

I would wait until all of the major shots are done, so a year. I wonder how many people avoid them now that they don't vax.
I just watched last nights episode of greys. They land in Sioux Falls, except the stuff says "Joe Boss Field" and it's really "Joe Foss Field" so that really bugged me. Also our police cars look different so clearly it wasn't actually filmed here.

Same here.
"They'd never try that with Jack Bauer" is a constant saying when we watch. I'm still into it though, I really like the cast.

I may have told this story before, but once my dad hid my basket after drinking. The next morning I couldn't find it and he kept insisting it was behind the TV. It wasn't. Took us an hour or so to find it. It was in a cooler in my mom's car. I was in college (yup, I got hidden baskets in college) so I thought it was funny.
Oh yeah, we only got candy in our baskets. And possibly something small like a kite. My bff had 2nd Christmas. One year I remember she got an iPod for Easter, we will not be doing that. In a few years when I don't mind H having so much candy I'll probably transition to more candy/less stuff.
heymama DH's close friend's baby mama is anti-vax. She did some vax with their oldest but was determined not to with her youngest (who has a heart condition) so she convinced him to leave his job and move to state that doesn't require vaccines to go to school. She lost a lot of play dates for their oldest once people found out that she didn't like vaccines. Funny thing is DH's friend wants to vaccinated but he won't stand up to her.
I think the H is more pro-vax here too but lets her make the calls when it comes to the kids. So crazy! I would think you'd want all the vaccines with a heart condition! Unless it's the kind of illness where you truly can't be vaccinated. Then I'd want all the vaccines for everyone around my kid!
We do pretty small Easter baskets. Some candy, bubbles, new big brother t shirts, books and sticker books. They get excited for anything! L remembers the egg hunt from last year and is most looking forward to finding eggs with m&ms in them!
chrisy01 good for you! What in the world is she thinking?!
She is the same one who thought she could make her own cloth diapers. Let's just say the first time her oldest tried one it was a very messy experience.
Didn't she also give one of them a cupcake as their first food at something crazy like 8 weeks?
