Morning! April the giraffe is giving birth for real! I'm so excited! We have Easter with my family this morning and then I have to work this afternoon.
I bought stuff to dye eggs but I don't think we'll do it. I really don't think O will be into sitting around and waiting for the egg to turn colors.
Last year C loved moving eggs from one color to the next until they were colored. They all ended up brown, but whatever. We used the whisk trick so it was easy for him.
Took V to an egg hunt/meet thee Easter Bunny. These things are not his forte. He was skeptical of the bunny and mostly gave the other children looks of haughty derision. He did take a free lollipop before declaring that we were done. Happy Easter?
We did eggs over two days-- we dyed them before bed on Thursday night so they could dry overnight and then before bed last night we decorated them with stickers, glitter, and markers.
We used to color on ours with crayons before we dyed them Good memories!
Y'all. I just can't--I feel the urge to scream. This is my guest room at the moment:
And my FIL just texted DH to ask if he could stay with us one night this week bc he has business an hour or so south of here. CSeriously? Can I just get this blankety-blanking house packed and emptied without any more blanking houseguests?!?!?!?!?
I may have pitched a fit. DH has seen a whole new side of me the last couple months.
We have the kids' baptism class the same night so I'm hoping that'll be a discouragement. But probably not. Seriously, it's called a hotel. And I would have no problem saying that to my family if the situation were reversed (but they would never ask, because they're considerate.)

Hi!
We went to an Egg hunt/Festival this morning then went to the mall for bunny pictures. M was fine up until the egg hunt. He didn't want to pick up any eggs. I think all the other kids and family there intimidated him. By the second attempt, he picked up a few and once all the eggs were gone, he grabbed all the pine cones. Lol.
Bunny pics weren't great either. He is ok with seeing mascot costumes from a distance, but doesn't want to get close. We did pics with the little real bunnies instead, but I had to sit with him and he wouldn't smile. Toddlers be toddler'n...

I have a cold or allergies or some crap. It was inevitable since I've been wiping Cadence's nose every 5 minutes over the last week. Hoping I can endure it as well as she has. I swear sickness rarely phases her.
We are back home and I'm laying on the couch working up the energy to unpack and get things reorganized.
Tomorrow we are headed to my bro's in SA for Easter.
Rough start to today. DS1's hockey teammate injured his knee at their game and needed to be taken in an ambulance. For a long time we didn't know what happened just that he was down and 911 was called. They didn't finish the game and all the boys were shaken up. My nephew had an infected hangnail and also ended up in the ER. Both boys are now home and doing ok. My guest list for tomorrow keeps growing so DH just went and got a ton more food. We still have to dye eggs tonight and finish cleaning the house.

Can someone please explain to my child that "my tummy hurts" and "I have to pee" are not the same thing. If her constant Tummy hurts talk continues I'll be taking her to the Dr just to make sure, but I'm 99.9% sure it's nothing....Other than annoying.
I skipped running group to go to skating with the boys. We went for donuts after, then to the barbershop and lunch. We hit the trail on the way home and put the boys down for naps after. Col came out about a half dozen times before he finally pooped alone while DH and I were getting the deck furniture out of the shed. Whoops. I'm now home with them both because Col was complaining about his stomach when we were getting ready to go to the grocery store. I was going to take Chase and leave DH with Colin (already had him in his coat and shoes), but DH wanted to go and insisted that Chase would slow him down too much. Mmmmkay.
Anyhow we'll be home the rest of the evening. Pizza and wine, then tomorrow we've invited everyone over for brunch. Should be fun!
So much grumpiness in this house this evening. Pizza helped the boys, wine helped me. My Mom has been struggling to find something to bring tomorrow and fortunately (?) Our coffee grinder died and we're a good 25 minutes from a Walmart or Target (though there are 6 in various directions 25-35 minutes away), so she gets to feel helpful now. Well really she IS kind of saving my sanity.
klongoria11 "my tummy hurts" usually ends up being "I have to take a massive poop" with Cass.
This is the 1st thing I ask her and 9 times out of 10 the answer is no. I ask if she is going to throw up and if she needs to pee. She will sometimes say yes to pee, other times, nope. We've even gotten, "it hurts today because it hurt yesterday" and "it hurts because yours hurts"....

I "think " I got everything I need for lunch/dinner tomorrow at the grocery store. If not, oh well. Most stores will be closed tomorrow.
We'll dye eggs in a bit. It's the first time I'm attempting it with M. I'm hoping to keep the mess to a minimum, but who am I kidding? He is a 3yo after all.
I'm thinking about letting him paint my bump like an Easter egg tomorrow. I did a pumpkin when I was pregnant with M. If I do, I'll paint the egg shape and let M put his hand prints, or do polka dots with a sponge brush. Not sure if I'm up for it yet, though.
klongoria11 have you or Dh recently complained of a tummy ache? Does she do this at school to? C has been telling me his back hurts but it's because I said my back hurt two weeks ago. He mopes around the house yelling "my back hurts so bad" he's a faker though.
She had the stomach bug about 2 weeks ago. I had it 1 week ago. She was saying it before that though. She also said her tummy hurt when I was crying about our cat. She said her tummy hurt because I was sad. I think she just doesn't have enough words or understanding to explain how she feels yet, so she goes with her tummy hurting. I've asked her teacher about it and she doesn't say it at all at school.

Hi all. Busy day here. I took coffee to my mom and they shockingly let us take her out for a few hours, so she came to my dad's for the Easter egg hunt and lunch. Then my dad took one of our cars to the carwash and the battery died, whoops, but we were able to get it replaced quickly. J has melted down at least 10 times today, always a mess when with his cousins. Tomorrow we are going to attempt taking all 4 kids to rehab, which will probably result in my mom being kicked out, since they are lunatics.
Also realized we don't have our Easter basket strategy figured out. My sis got stuff for John, but they are at my mom's house...So he's basically not getting one when he wakes up. Maybe next year..
slenle, how did the visit with the pediatrician go? And, on a much more superficial note, where did you get the adorable jeans that H is wearing in the Easter bunny picture?
The visit went well. I spent the last few days really trying to be patient with h so I was feeling much better by the time we went in. She basically chalked it up to being a boy which isn't a great answer, but I sort of agree. He's just a different baby. She also thought he is close to getting another tooth which surprised me since its not a molar which are supposed to be next.
vinolove there's definitely some truth to it. I've talked to many moms who say theirs boys are needier than their girls. I'm sure the tables will turn someday and I'll be wishing for my needy 1yo boy when I'm dealing with a emotional 12 yo girl

Happy Easter! Our egg dying was a total fail. The color tablets wouldn't disolve, so they'd hardly color the eggs. Then C dropped one and I realize I don't know how to hardboil eggs....
Up and at 'em early here. We got home late from my parents' and C was over-tired so bedtime was rough, but luckily everyone slept well so we are ready-ish to take on the day.
Easter baskets were a success and now I'm working on our contributions for lunch before we start getting ready for church. Afterwards we'll head to my parents for lunch and the egg hunt--and by 'egg hunt' I mean Bradley racing solo around the backyard. He really needs some competition.
Found V eating chocolate after bedtime last night. "Getting his own" it was very 'screw the Easter Bunny' of him. I guess there is just too much bureaucracy around Easter nowadays.
