After the egg hunt this morning, I asked DD if she wanted to take a nap. I didn't expect her to answer but she said yes and lifted her arms so I could pick her up. She has been asleep for over 2.5 hours so far.

We are supposed to go down to the city today to meet ILs. We should have been there already, but X is a hot mess because he was up so late last night. He was up every 90minutes all night and has taken a 15 minute nap. He's asleep now, and I'm not about to wake him up.
H is annoyed by this but I hate being the only person who sees the importance of keeping a semi-schedule for X. He clearly doesn't do well without it. Always the no-fun mom. We're going to have to leave early to get him to bed anyways.
I don't understand why they don't just offer to come here instead so X can nap and we can all still hang out.
Last night we went out for dinner with another couple. My mom came over and watched the kids for a few hours. We stayed out until almost 11, that has to be a record for me for at least the last year or two anyway! Ha!
This morning we went to an Easter egg hunt thing, it's basically a bunch of kiddie games set up and a small egg hunt section. We went out for lunch with SIL and her family afterward. She took DS so he could go to the park with his cousin and we brought DD home to nap. In a bit I'm going to meet a couple friends for a quick coffee date, H will stay home with DD, and once she's up we'll go over to MIL's to meet back up with everyone and hang out there for the rest of the day I'm assuming. The kids can play and we might be dying more eggs.
DD woke before 6am so that combined with me getting to bed late, I'll be ready for bed early tonight.
rivers and roads I hate that. People just don't understand that you can't just leave the house all day long, no big deal. My kids for sure don't get adequate nap time if we aren't at home giving a designated nap.
Our Easter meal tomorrow (on H's side) is at 12:30. I'm going to have to feed DD lunch prior to that, as she's hungry for lunch by 11:30. And she usually naps at or shortly before 1. So yeah, we'll be eating and leaving. 🤷🏻♀️ My mom wanted to plan a 1:00 meal but I derailed that quickly and now we are doing supper at her house.

Morning! We don't celebrate Easter aside from an excuse for some silly gifts, so it's a low key day, and that's great! I need a day of nothing after 2 crazy days. I think we'LL go for a bike ride later, but that's it.
Happy Easter all! We also had an early morning here. But L has been napping for over an hour already so I hope she's okay for dinner. We dyed eggs and have had approximately 19 egg hunts so far Update at 1pm since I forgot to hit send, haha. Now I'm sitting in the car while both kids nap. I'm not sure why but I'm in such a foul mood. I would be okay sitting out here through all of Easter. I'm a grump. Now that I admit that, I realize I have pms. Ugh. Damn it. Stupid body.
Happy Easter! The kids got their baskets this morning and then we went to the IL's for a little egg hunt and lunch. S was crabby the whole time we were there, because she was tired and also I don't think she's over her illness. I am now at work.

The Easter bunny visited but no one was up early here. They were excited when they did make it downstairs. They really seemed to appreciate their baskets and snacks. They've already used a lot of it!
Then we rushed off to church. I managed to make it through most of the service (and weekend) without crying even though there have definitely been moments I wanted to.

DH boiled the eggs but we still haven't gotten around to colouring them!
I've been unmotivated and cranky all week and I'm definitely blaming hormones. I'm not entirely sure what my body's up to but I hope it figures it out soon. I never had PMS pre-kids, it sucks.

First holidays (and all after, really) are hard. ❤️It's a whole new "normal" to find.

@rivers and roads, yeah, it still feels strange and almost awkward on some levels. Especially his house and church.
At church they sing a song called Go Now in Peace, which I've always liked, to finish off each service. We actually sang it to my dad after we had withdrawn support. I did ok with it at his funeral but I shed tears today.
Liam brought a book over from the shelf to me the other day: My Grandpa is my Best Friend. I couldn't get through it which was fine because no one was listening to me at that point so I stopped!

Oof, I'm sorry eyelashedviper. Those little things are the ones that hit the hardest. Hugs.
