My house is hot af. Even with windows open and fans on. I am dying. We haven't lived here over the summer yet. No a.c. just window units. I am scared to see the electric bill already.
Central A.C. for life.
But I live in the south and it's already super hot here.

Our thermostat is set on 68 alllll year long. I'm quite bitchy if I'm hot.
DD gave me a 4.5 hour stretch after nursing for nearly 4 hours before bed. I need to figure out how to up my supply in the evenings. I was hoping after a week or two of evening cluster feeds I'd have more.
I did something I don't normally do and sent Dh into DS's room when he woke up crying. I normally take the brunt of overnight wake ups due to DH's job but I knew DD would be up soon. Now I have to go wake Dh up in about 2.5 hours so he can go to work.
DS went down a little earlier last night, thank god. We had a pretty busy weekend, and I was exhausted. (The flip side is he's up earlier now...)
I got my first real legit smile yesterday. He's given me a few semi/half asleep/likely gas smiles, but this was a full on wide awake big social smile. I about died.
DD has been awake a lot tonight. Not crying, but awake. She did let me sleep 3 hours between 12 and 3, but she needs to go back to sleep sooooon. I'm sleepy.
My thermostat is at 68 all year long too. Hate being hot. I feel you @justinslovo
DD2 went to bed around 10, then woke up to eat at 1am, 3am, 4am, 5am, and 6am for the day. DD1 woke up around 1230 b/c she has a cold and feels crappy. At 6, H woke up and saw me nursing and thought it was a good idea to ask, "tired?"...then he got up and started getting ready to go to the gym. He did offer to skip it when he saw I was struggling and DD1 was also waking up, but I told him to go b/c it makes him happier and I won't feel guilty asking him to do things (like change the cat litter) later today. And he better bring me home coffee.
After dd1 I was excited to get back to work, but with 2 I really wish I could focus on being home with them for a few years. We could probably make it work, but it would be stupid of me to give up a decent salary for "easy" work (20hrs/week from home, + the cost of being out of the workforce temporarily and having to find work again in the future). So that's my struggle lately. The "20 hrs/week" is more like being available all the time b/c I'm east coast & my company is west coast, so after I get my work done in the morning (which is what works best for me & why I went part-time when dd1 was born), I get all my calls and emails from the office in the afternoon. I'm fortunate to work for an awesome company but man I wish I didn't have to always be checking in and could have set hours (mostly for my mental health).

I hate Monday's. Even when not having to go to work. The only positive was getting to send my daughter to the sitter. I feel bad but man, by Monday's, I need a break from her terrible two-ness.

My sister and BIL come in tonight, wee!
Operation: Clean House has to happen today while I'm home alone with a toddler who's too young for real help (but who loves "helping") and a newborn. This should be fun.
Chef BIL is kind of hilariously snobby about food and wants to know about local butchers and farms and blee and blah - we're getting stuff from Sam's and he'll have to cry while using dried herbs from a store. You come to southern NM, you slum it with the rest of us!
I also offered to buy wine. They live in wine country. This should go well.
(They are not wealthy by any means! They're just used to a completely different food culture.)
My brother and and niece are supposed to come over this morning. Niece is sweet and loves DD and she's only seven months older than DS.
Only problem is that she seems to be sick ALL THE TIME. So much so that her nickname in my head is patient zero. So hopefully she doesn't give anything to the baby.

I need to do a target run and grocery shopping. I'm afraid to try and do them both on the same outing. Target will win for the day so groceries will have to wait.

I'm jealous of this. My mom typically watches DD1 Tues/Thurs mornings, but hasn't been since DD2 arrived. I don't think she will appreciate me asking her to take her again starting this week or next but omg I need the break. She is also on a wait list for a local Montessori school for 2-3 mornings/week, mostly for the socialization, and I'm hoping she gets a spot sooner rather than later (we got on the last in January) b/c I would love to not deal w/ the terrible two's 24/7.
Jack went from 8lb3oz to 9lb8oz in 2 weeks! I am crying I am so thrilled.
She asked if I wanted to stop pumping or stop formula. I am all about not pumping so I have the extra time in my day. And then she asked if I wanted samples. YES! I now have enough formula for a month.
Huge sigh of relief.
We go back in 2 weeks for his regular 2 month check up and we will see where he is at then and we may possibly start reducing the formula.
I got DS1 ready for preschool this morning and out the door on time (not easy these days with the baby) only to find out when I got there that it was closed. 😡 Apparently I'm not on their email list.
I had planned on heading straight to the grocery store with F after dropoff so I decided to go anyway with both kiddos for the first time. It actually went ok. Mom level up!

Sub daughter for son and it's the same here. I wish our sitter the best of luck today, bc our kids will be a mess from such a busy weekend!
L woke up with a stuffy nose overnight. She was passed around so much at Easter festivities I'm sure she caught a little cold. We had been lucky to avoid it thus far, but man nothing like dripping saline and suctioning the nose to really piss her off at 2 am!
I have so much to do today. Like ladytiffany24 I really need to run to target and the grocery. It's time to put DS in underwear bc he tells us when he needs to go if he doesn't have a pull-up on (ran out of diapers while out this weekend), but if he has a diaper on, he doesn't stop playing to go on the potty (unless we take timed breaks). ETA: wrong tag

Can you get some grocery necessities from Target? Then it is a win win!
I may attempt a few of the absolutely necessities, but the target I go to is one that doesn't have many groceries. I think we can make do until tomorrow anyways! Plus, it's been my goal to get my ass out of the house at least once a day.
Good for you caer! I still haven't attempted an outing with both the toddler and newborn on my own. I'm skurred.
muskiefan exactly same here. She was a mess this morning so I feel for the sitter. At the same time I was like PEACE OUT!
I bribed the toddler with a bakery cookie and made sure that the baby was asleep before attempting it. I figure whatever works at this point. You can do it!

I really need chipotle to step up their game and install drive thrus at their restaurants.
This brought to you by the mom of a newborn who wants to place an online order to pick up but is dreading having to lug the car seat in their to get it.
@justinslovo great news!!!! Yay for not pumping! ladytiffany24 I hate DH going back to work after the weekend but I definitely look forward to our nanny coming to play with E on Mon/Tues for the break from the 2's. I might try to work a nap into my day!
Easter dinner with the ILs went well yesterday, and now SIL is at the hospital in labor! Didn't help me leave early but at least she's finally going to have this little guy!! And DH got up and did the morning feed so I got up and am pumping. I'm at over 6 oz now! This is crazy for me bc I've only ever pumped 2-3 oz even as a replacement session. Woohoo my boobs are working!!!
