Meh, I'd rather not use it. If antihistamines or a hormone imbalance is messing with my CM I'd rather fix the issue because I want to continue to use FAM in general not just to get KU so CM will always be important.

Uh what's FAM?

Oh I hate condoms haha. I was on the pill so withdrawal was simply just because it's easier to clean up, I hate that stuff dripping out of me all day lol. FAM=Fertility Awareness Method which is tracking CM & BBT to avoid or achieve pregnancy or just track your cycles.

My understanding is that NFP is more associated with the rhythm method, whereas FAM is based on the science of how a woman's body changes throughout her cycle. That might not be true anymore though, these days I seem to hear the terms used interchangeably.

This. The internet tells you that FAM and the Rhythm Method are the same but they're not. I think NFP is actually like FAM but it's kind of religious and you're supposed to abstain from sex when you're fertile if you want to avoid. FAM has no ties to religion.

alwayscheese, I don't think using a tampon is really good to use like that but TETO. If anything I'd use a pantyliner. Glad I'm not the only that's annoyed by it though, I've always wondered what other people did and I've been dreading dealing with it when TTC lol

Omg please do not use a tampon to keep from dripping.....You should never use a tampon unless you have to and then it should be the lowest absorbacy possible. So bad for your vajayjay. Do some kegels to get excess out and then use a panty liner. For your health. Please. I'm like dying over here....

Hi Everyone! I've been mostly participating in the TTCAL thread, but am finally ready to join in here too.

Cycle: I've lost track of months. I'm on cycle 8 / 1 AL of actually "TTC". Before that we were NTNP since March 2016.


CD: 3


What are you doing to GKU?: Going to do CBDA OPKs.


RRCS: No ranting for me today. I'm working, then a friend is coming over late afternoon, and then I have a party to go to in the evening. It should be a good day.


QOTW: What's your favorite vacation or place you traveled?Favorite is hard for me because H and I have been lucky and gotten to travel quite a bit. We honeymoon'ed in Cancun and that is definitely still one of my favorite trips. Favorite places, I would have to say Hawaii (Maui), Italy, Spain, Australia, and the Caribbean are my top 5!

obscurereference - I feel you on the move timing. Our lease is up summer 2018 and we are not renewing. I'll just prepare for a summer 2018 baby now with my luck, haha. Although, jokes aside, I would definitely be happy with a 2018 baby in ANY month!

ajetter - Realizing a 2017 baby wasn't any longer a possibility was tough for me too. Hugs. ETA: I just realized that is not what you were saying. I'm glad you feel relieved of some of the TTC pressure. 

misspatty - Um that trip sounds amazing. Sounds like I need to tell DH we are headed to the Amalfi Coast and Sicily next!

larzhope - MH and I are dying to go to Thailand! Sounds like it was a good time. Who doesn't love beautiful beaches and nice people.

I want to use a cup for my period. My sister raved about the diva so I bought one and attempted it. My bathroom looked like a murder scene and it definitely never went in right so I haven't tried it since lol.

alwayscheese, girl, please just use a panty liner. I used to really hate that feeling too, and TBH if we're having sex way outside my FW we sometimes still use condoms just because it's easier to clean up. So I get it. But you can really mess up your CM using tampons after sex because they'll just absorb everything.

I get that too. It sucks, but it's better than potentially screwing up your vagina!

alwayscheese I don't think it's an hours per month thing. I just wouldn't want to put myself at risk for health issues just because of a little semen.

Also, I don't have this problem. Am I broken? Like, y'all continue dripping for days? My vagina must be super absorbent. 😂

I didn't believe it because I O'd much later last cycle so I did another one next time I went to the bathroom, urine was much more diluted and the test line is ever so slightly lighter than the control.
I'm so confused as to how everyone who is having sex all the time to TTC can tell the difference between fertile CM and semen??

So so I didn't expect to O until much later in my cycle since I've been having long cycles (around 43 days). I was surprised to see positive OPKs on CD 18 and 19. Yesterday morning's was dark but not as dark as control so I figured I would O yesterday.
I might mark CD18-20 temps as questionable because all the nights before I stayed up too late and had crappy sleep.
This morning it went up even more so I though I was right- O was yesterday. 
Had the tinesit bit of EWCM yesterday, the first I've noticed since being off the pill! Just right now I noticed I have a good amount of EWCM. Soo did I not O yet?? My temps last cycle never went over 98 until I did. I'm excited because it looks like I'm going to have a shorter cycle than usual but I'm confused and still trying to figure this all out.

Looking at your chart I would guess you Od on either cd17 or 19 - more likely 19 because of the positive opk and obvious temp rises.

I'm unfamiliar with how kindara works - does it give lines like FF does to pinpoint O? If so, it might need another day of high temps to do so (assuming you Od on cd19).

So on FF it gives you crosshairs to show ovulation and the cover line for temperatures

Of what I see on Kindara it gives you numbers. Either way, looking at your chart I think it needs a day or two more information for it to pinpoint O.

As for the EWCM - I just read up and it's rare but not unheard of to have it after. It's just your body producing more estrogen, which can help thicken cervical lining. Some women have an extra surge in the tww.

So basically the best advice I can give is keep temping and having sex until there is confirmed O.

whatsit, oh ok, I've never seen crosshairs on anyone's Kindara chart so it must not. I'm just so excited that my body seems to be getting back into he swing of things after all these months off the pill!

I would guess 19 or 20 based off temperature and OPK. My CM does not always correspond with O so now that I use OPK's I don't check CM.

I would definitely recommend Fertility Friend because it *usually* does the guess work for you and gives you cross hairs that determine O day.

Of course, as I've learned, it's possible to get a fake LH surge so if you're not confident you O'd I would continue having sex.
