What is with my mother calling daily during naptime? I have stuff to do. She wants to sit and chit chat for 30 minutes. I'm lucky if nap lasts an hour these days. Dnw to sit and chitchat. If I don't answer she calls back until I do. I'm really f-big crabby today. She asked what my problem was and I just said nothing, I just have a lot to do and need to go. And she was like "be glad you're not working so you can do stuff". Thanks. I'll keep that in mind.

dizzycooks - omg. That would annoy me so much, too. My mom does that, but right after the girls' bedtime. It's good to catch up sometimes, but mostly I am just ready for peace and quiet at that point. Luckily my mom won't keep calling back until I answer... I would probably snap at her if that happened! And the "be glad you're not working" comment would definitely get under my skin.
NellieOleson keep us updated! I hope it works out!!
Thanks! It is hard to take the suspense. I am wavering between feeling like we have chance at all, to feeling like we will definitely get one of the houses. I don't even know which house I'm hoping we get! Hopefully we get some news about the first house soon...

Update on the job! I called and told him 20+. Hours was not possible, but I'd be happy to work three early afternoons a week. I figure that gives me time to feel out the real workload. My friend seems to think the previous person in this position may have needed $ and was overstating the actual workload.

kcrkcs, the good thing I would see in that situation is that she wasn't crying when they were holding her. That means that she's bonding with them enough to let them comfort her. As long as the bond with the teacher is good (and it's still very early for that), then I'm sure she'll be fine after she adjusts. Our daycare does a 4-week adjustment period - it takes a long time for them at this age! I say give it some more time. Maybe you could even ask them to give you a call once she settles down. That way you're not on edge all day wondering if she had another day of crying the whole time. When DD2 used to cry hard when I left her at daycare, I would call as soon as I got home (worked at home - 5 min drive from daycare) and she had always settled down by then. Never once did I call and have them say she was still worked up (this was after the adjustment period was over). That allowed me to stop worrying and feeling guilty and get on with my day.

We got the house!
Assuming the inspection goes well, of course. I think it will because this place looks like it's been impeccably maintained. But OH MY GOODNESS. I can hardly believe it. The house is a *little* smaller than I would like, but something we can totally work with. It's adorable, has good schools, a cute street, an amazing yard, and is a few blocks from a park and community garden. Yay!
Yay NellieOleson! Sorry I am not tagging everyone but thank you for your daycare support. Today was a little better. So I think I am just an over reacting ftm 😬 anyway I heart you all!
Holy crap taking my kids to the library is a pain. I think it would be easier if I was just looking for books for them. But I needed some books too. I kept M in the stroller while I looked, but S was being whiny about the computers. He wanted to play minecraft, but couldn't find it on his own, and I couldn't find it either, so I tried setting him up with a game that's actually aimed at 5 year olds, but he didn't want to play that and walked away, and then threw a fit because the computer he was on got taken. We need to find a less busy branch of the library that isn't too far away.

You guys! The sellers agent sent the wrong paperwork, so we couldn't sign it - and while we were waiting for them to send the correct paperwork to sign someone offered them $8000 more for the house. The seller said not to take it, though, and sticking with our offer, but now our agent is racing to get us everything under contract before they change their mind. I knew this couldn't be so easy! Aaaassrhrhrhrhrhrhrhghhhh!
.....and I think all the correct paperwork is signed. Phew.
(As I live blog my home buying )
Keep it up! It gives me an idea of what we might be in for, if we ever manage to save up a down payment.
Well, hopefully your housing market is not like the one I live in. I think this is especially rough. I might be wrong, though... feel free to chime in, people.
Also, I don't know what kind of programs (programmes in Canadian, eh ) they have up there, but in the states there are loans you can get with 3% down. I know a lot of people who have gotten into their first (and sometimes second or third homes) that way.

I don't think our housing market is quite that bad. It's possible to get a zero down mortgage, but you're essentially taking out a loan to use as the down payment. There are other ways around it too, but I haven't looked into it much. H isn't comfortable with buying until I have a steady income, which is fair.

NellieOleson, congratulations! Nothing like some last-minute stress to get the adrenaline pumping! I hope all the paperwork was submitted on time.
The housing market is bad here, too, but it doesn't sound quite as crazy as yours. It's really bad for renting (in Germany there's more of a renting culture than in the US), though. When we posted our 1-bdrm in-law suite on one single website, we got 100 requests to view it in 48 hours. I had to take down the ad because I had to slog through all those 100 requests and couldn't handle any more!

Thank all that is holy I got sleep last night! Modern medicine is amazing, I antibiotics. DD3's fever is gone and she's super happy and content today, so I'm pretty sure we'll be sending her to daycare again tomorrow.
Work has been great about me having to postpone my start (my maternity leave was supposed to end yesterday but I had to stay home with DD3), but it looks like I'll actually be able to get things going on Friday.
crimsonandclover I was wondering how that first day back went! Do you have to go into the office? How nice that your freelance work is winding down in time for your other work to start. Maybe it lightens the transition? I did a core workout class yesterday and I'm so sore today. And I feel like my throat is on fire so I'll probably go get checked if that doesn't go away soon. We did cio for dd3 last night and she survived. I'm hoping sleep improves soon. Dd2 was up screaming 3 times so who knows what's up with her. Dd1 peed her bed. I am thisclose to putting her back in a pull up. So laundry, rest and maybe a doctor trip are the plan for today.
And can I add, I had forgotten how much fun the young toddler stage is. Dd3 is so stinking cute!

dizzycooks, I WAH on Mon/Tues mornings and go in Wed morning and all day Friday (Thursday I WAH for my freelance stuff). The days I go in I have to get up at 5, so I'm not looking forward to that on Friday.
I totally second the young toddler stage being so cute. I don't know if I'm just enjoying it more this time around because she's our last or because I'm more chill about stuff or what, but I agree - I cannot handle the cuteness!!
M got up at about 5:20 for a bottle. Usually that means she'll sleep until 8:30 or 9. Today she was up at 6:55. I ignored her for awhile hoping she'd go back to sleep, but no such luck.
It stopped snowing. It looks like it's raining now. It's supposed to get up to a whopping 6 degrees this afternoon.
I find it absolutely ridiculous that the high school I went to has a better drop off area than S's elementary school. And by better,I mean the high school actually has an area dedicated to drop off/pick up. The elementary school has nothing. Parents aren't allowed to use the tiny parking lot, so it's just street parking. Super annoying.

It just hit me that my "girls weekend" is in two weeks and I can't bring my pump (carry on only and sightseeing on our last day away from our hotel). Three days without nursing??? I'm not ready. I honestly can't think about it. She still nurses 3-5 times a day. First, I'm going to be in pain. I anticipate a lot of hand expressing. Second, MY BABY!!! ðŸ˜

This thing is awesome for trips. It's only $20. Or you can have mine. I was just going to donate it anyway.
